Title: Works great, simple instructions, long cord, >95% of clipped hairs are vacuumed away!
Review: Works great right out of the box. Unit was fully assembled, and it fired right up and never missed a beat during two amateur haircutting sessions. Not rock solid structurally like the pro clippers in barber shops, of course -- but I won't be using it every day, and don't expect it will get dropped on the living room floor, so it's plenty rugged enough for me.The vacuum hair-collection chamber is very easy to see into, through blue-shaded plastic; and that compartment is also crazy-easy to remove, empty, and replace. No fancy tabs to break off -- it's more of a goof-proof friction fit.Simple instructions. Takes about 5 minutes to read the instructions, even if you haven't had your coffee yet. Only the must-know info is there...if you want to get fancy with a particular hairstyle, there's always the internet and social media. (Good luck with that.) One thing you'll chuckle about is the statement to the effect of "make sure that hair on left and right sides are trimmed to the same length." Remington must have had some complaints about bilaterally asymmetric haircuts given with this product over the years, but frankly, if you want to give such a haircut, there’s not much that the recipient can do about it, since it’s probably a freebie haircut you’re providing anyway, as most likely required by your local laws. Everything else in the short instructions is news you can use, and probably should -- particularly if you've never used a hair trimmer/cutter before!Long power cord. If this multi-foot power cord isn't long enough for your haircutting task, beware, you have a Rapunzel situation on your hands. Get the scissors or tin snips, a good umbrella insurance policy (it had better catch more than just falling hair damage), and work your way up, before using this Remington Kit.No (or very little) mess. More than 95% of clipped hairs were vacuumed away into the unit. I didn't do an actual quantitation of the hair caught versus hair escaped. Check back in 5 or 10 years when I'll update this review for aggregated statistical data, controlled for length and thickness of hair, among other variables that I can "tease" from the hair data. I was eager to set this up as a double-blind study and get "rolling," but my subjects were not willing to let me cut their hair with blindfolds in the study design, so I "trimmed" that double-blind study idea. Apparently amateur haircut folkways in my town require the haircutter and haircutee to watch what's going on from start-to-finish during the barbering process...who knew?!

Title: Cheap and fast alternative to Flowbee
Review: I've used a Flowbee for many years, and have been satisfied with the results. I have thick hair with just a bit of curl, and a generic hairstyle parted on one side, 1" long on the top, 1/2" on the sides, so it's a natural for using the Flowbee to cut.The Flowbee's blades get dull after a few years, and I was about to order my third replacement set when I saw the Remington on Amazon and realized that it is about the same price as just the Flowbee blades (including shipping), so I decided to give the Remington a try.The Remington works pretty well, and gives a haircut similar to the Flowbee, though it looks a bit more coarse and not as softly layered.Overall, it takes maybe half as long to use the Remington, mostly because the Flowbee requires getting out the vacuum cleaner, plugging the Flowbee and vac into the wall, connecting their hoses to each other, and then getting everything arranged to do the haircut. However, as others have mentioned, the Remington's built-in waste hair chamber fills up fast, and needs to be emptied multiple times per haircut. A small amount of overflow hair is scattered around by the Remington, while the Flowbee does not have this problem. Both the Remington and Flowbee are a bit awkward to manuver around the head, but the Remington doesn't have the Flowbee's thick unwieldy hose, so it's not as bad. It's a little easier to move the Remington around the ears and nape and catch stray hairs, leading to faster cleanup of the haircut with scissors after the main cutting is done. The Remington doesn't bog down as badly as the Flowbee if I've let my hair grow out a bit, and will give a more even cut, though its chamber will fill up very quickly. The Flowbee has always struggled with cutting longer hair. The Remington is also a decent beard trimmer when using one of its shorter attachments, which is a nice bonus.Minor nits: I wish that the Remington included more length options between 1/2" and 1". Also, the storage bag is just big enough to hold all the parts, it would be nice if the bag were a bit bigger.Overall, if you're a Flowbee user thinking about replacing the blades or entire system, I'd recommend giving the Remington a try. It doesn't give quite the same softly layered haircut as the Flowbee, but it's pretty close. And it is much faster and easier to use.

Title: Works Perfectly
Review: No clean up. I would highly recommend it for anyone who wants to save money and time. I've owned this for over a year and it works perfect every time. Hopefully they will make more hair trimmers with the vacuum feature.

Review: Collected 90% of the hair, not noisy and was super lightweight. The plug issue was its downfall but fortunatly my dad had an adapter so we could use it once it was unwrapped at Christmas, he had been waiting for that haircut a while!

Review: I wish it were cordless, and it is a bit bulky even for normal hands. The noise makes you feel like you are using a dyson to cut your hair (exaggerating a bit) BUT...it does a great job, and it really does "vacuum" 98% of you hair/beard clippings. You'll have to clean up a little after, but it's not even close to be as annoying as using a regular clipper. I recommend it, it comes with great accessories too. Emptying/cleaning it is very easy.
