Title: The best shoe purchase I've ever made!
Review: I've never bought hiking boots/shoes before, and I've never bought Merrell shoes before, so I can't say if the quality is the same as it has always been, but compared to my new balance sneakers these are to die for! I was afraid that buying Merrell shoes was more of a trend for hikers, but now I know that it's because they really are quality shoes. I bought these because I knew we were going hiking in West Texas and I wanted to make sure I had good grip and support in my shoes. These shoes have the best grip I've ever experienced! I was able to walk on slippery, slimy river rocks and smooth rock, with loose stones on top, at a 45 degree angle with ease. Literally no slipping period. I felt confident walking on any terrain for our entire trip. We walked 20+ miles in a few days and I have to say that my feet did hurt, but not because of a lack of support. I think my feet were just tired. I'm usually pretty sedentary. My arches never hurt, and the support in these shoes is also the best arch support I've ever experienced. I have a very high arch so I didn't feel like the arch support was perfectly snug with my arch but it was plenty. The only thing that bothered me when I first wore them was the snugness of the padding overall. It felt great because my foot felt stable and well supported, and I had plenty of room all around, but the cushioning in the top of the shoe where I laced them up felt like it was cutting off circulation. So i just didn't tie them very tight. I also had thick socks so that didn't help. After a couple of days this went away. I also have to say that I have never been able to tie my laces only once. I have always double knotted, but these laces never ever came undone even with one knot. And I walked a lot. Up and down mountains and kicking up stones. I would definitely buy these again, and I'm planning on buying these for my teenage daughters as well instead of wasting money on Nike or NB which have no support and no tred!

Title: Hardy and well crafted.
Review: I've been testing these since 2019.They are near indestructible. No rips, wear spots, or mishaps encountered. Excellent knobby tread that has superb traction. In fact, these shoes have the best traction out of any pair of shoes I've ever owned. They are fairly thin soles, and I can 'feel the terrain' through them- while still being very stiff and protective. Seeing as they are a hiking shoe, I feel this is important to note.Arch support is respectable, and i have also noticed there is excellent protection from the foot rocking inward. The shoes have held their shape excellent and never required a break in period. My boyfriend wears them occasionally and they fit him great too. He can't feel any sort of impression where my feet naturally sit in the shoe. They are just as comfortable to him as they are to me.I wear these on hikes but also wear them to work occasionally as they breathe excellent. Whereas- my work boots do not. They are not meant for standing on concrete all day, and i find my feet a little extra sensitive by the days end.I also have very sweaty feet and my shoes tend to develop odor quickly. I was surprised at how resistant these have been to smell and have washed them a handful of times to assist with that.I only fault these shoes for a modest toe box. I have average width feet, however as a 'hiker shoe' I wish these allowed my toes to fully expand when flexed. Im not crowded in them per say, but I wish a wide width was available. I do overall enjoy them and would recommend! True to size, and I almost never get it right the first try!

Title: Exceptional Comfort and Fit for All-Day Hiking!
Review: I recently purchased a pair of Merrell hiking boots, and I couldn't be more thrilled with my purchase. These boots have completely transformed my hiking experience, and I can confidently say they are worth every penny.First and foremost, the fit is impeccable. I ordered my usual size, and they fit like a glove from the moment I put them on. The boots provide excellent support without feeling restrictive, and I haven't experienced any discomfort or blisters during my hikes.Comfort is where these boots truly shine. I've worn them on several all-day hikes, and my feet have never felt better. The cushioning and arch support are spot-on, ensuring I can trek for hours without any fatigue or pain. Whether I'm navigating rocky terrain or tackling steep ascents, these boots provide the stability and comfort I need.Overall, I can't recommend these Merrell hiking boots enough. They combine a perfect fit, exceptional comfort, and durability in a way that enhances my hiking adventures. If you're looking for a reliable pair of hiking boots that will keep your feet happy and comfortable during long treks, these are the ones to get. Five stars all the way!

Title: Absolutely worth the hype
Review: I am not a person who buys on brand name. I also and super cheap. I have consistently seen Merrill rated high in online reviews for hiking shoes but the price was impossible for me to except. These were on sale and I bought on the fact I could return if they weren’t up to the standard. I love these and can tell you they’re worth the hype. I hike a lot and usually for 2 to 4 hours at a time most weekends and any other day I don’t have work interfering with hiking these are very comfortable and don’t cause my feet to sweat buckets like the pair of waterproof boots I have. I am surprised they have actually been as good as they are.

Title: Recommended -size depends on use
Review: I own this shoe in different sizes. The shape of the shoe gives toes ample room while keeping good heel fit. The size 8 is worn when expecting to get wet and not wear socks. The size 9 is used with an orthotic and socks. I have had the size 8 for several years and it still looks almost like new and the soles have held up well. With orthotics it is better for walks, etc. Excellent quality. Recommended.

Review: The shoe was too wide and didn't fit right in the toe area. I'm not sure it was designed like this or if it was just the wrong size for me. The sole looked very good and sturdy. I didn't care for the overall clunkiness look if it.It would be a great shoe if you like room at the toes!I've returned and ordered a different shoe.
