Review: Absolutely the best video surveillance system I have owned. With 8 cameras, I have 4 on each corner of the house monitoring movement and the other 4 are in fixed positions watching my known blind spots. A neighbor/friend walks by every afternoon and laughs because one of my cameras follows him walk by our house! He loves it and buying one. I have about a half acre and my house is in the middle. It picks up movement on my entire property including the motion activated cameras. I highly recommend 👌

Title: Setup was easy. Running the cable and things a little more annoying.
Review: Having had a OOSSXX system before, I knew sort of what to expect. The main box setup was easy, but something a little more annoying and still ongoing is setting up the POE runs from the box to the locations I want the cameras at. The other OOSSXX system I have uses wireless and it was about 80% effective. Dropped frames, desync, and random reboots happened frequently and recently the system just completely died after 2 years. I haven't had the same experience yet with this system, but it also hasn't been two years. I will update the review if that happens.Quality wise it looks good and is easy to use the interface. I don't have it plugged to a 4k monitor right now to speak about full resolution quality, but on the 1080p monitor the old OOSSXX system was on it looks great and clear and just as good, if not better, than the older system I had.The machine has a sound from the hd but it's not unbearable. We have a slightly noisy home office and everything pretty much has to be off for us to really hear this system.

Title: I had no problems setting this up. works like it should so far
Review: It's my first wired security cam system that I am using for my new store. I know it says for home but I think it's ok to use at a store business establishment. I'm familiar with security videos through my smart home devices to that extent. This camera system seems really nice. I unboxed it to test the functionalities. Because it's wired, the cable is extremely long. All four cameras it came with need to be plugged into the main box (an ethernet/power cable). Ideally you want to have that box nearby like on a desk to access it's UI. Install might take some time to decode. The instructions aren't all that great but I do think the video cam system is pretty good. It comes with the hdd which works like a server/PC. I hooked it up to a monitor and the small mouse it comes with. The built in program is how you would configure all the settings. So far it works well. I am able to activate detection mode, specify recording times, access video logs, and be able to move the camera manually. The server box uses old hdd technology and the interface is old, looks like a green screen.Along with the server, you also should download their app called HonestView. I found it easy to use. This is where you can access the system remotely and update a few of the settings although it is limited. You can speak through the phone app and communicate to whoever is in the camera and also move the camera directionally, zoom in, record and activate alarms which is very useful for security purposes. The alarm isn't annoyingly loud but may be enough to scare any perps. I think this is a good starter set for a surveillance system. It is very inexpensive and has most of the features we need.

Title: Very Effective Surveillance System at a Very Good Price
Review: I'd been doing upgrades to my home security system when I came across these cameras and accompanying hard-drive. It's a good deal more advanced than my old system and many newer ones for its price-point. Unlike rival products at similar prices this system comes with a hard-drive on which to store video; most require a separate drive that considerably adds to a system's overall cost. Operating instructions are clear and the camera's have advanced features that most older and many newer ones don't (panning, the ability to control and view the cameras via an app among others). These cameras are also clear in all weather and at night. They also provide wide-angle surveillance where they're deployed, one of the reasons I wanted to upgrade from my older system. I haven't had any glitches or outages with this system since it's installation and am really pleased with it.

Title: Camera Settings Can’t be Modified
Review: The cameras can be accessed via a computer to change settings, which SHOULD make it possible to define the IP protocol port for the camera, thereby allowing the PTZ to be controlled with a joystick controller. Unfortunately the cameras do not save the settings via the network GUI, instead when I click "save local network configure" it just tells me "Device is not responding, please try again later." Very frustrating, and unless it can be resolved I will need to return the product.

Title: Plug and play
Review: These are POE means they get power over the Ethernet cable. You just need to run these cameras to the screen hub and they work great. If your mansion in the hills is pre-wired with POE compatible network cable to each room, then multi room surveillance is super easy. I run one cam to the menagerie and another to the foyer. That leaves two for the champagne room. Now when I have my huge parties I can review footage to see who steals from me.I can capture detailed facial features, even in the dark in high quality night vision recordings. I also don’t need a separate screen because this comes with a screen, mouse, hard drive, and everything to get your surveillance going.
