Title: Untested recipes, no rhyme or reason for strange ingredients
Review: While I appreciate that this is one of the few diabetic ice cream recipe books that provides nutritional data for each recipe, there are over a dozen special ingredient items for which no explanation is provided as to its purpose in the recipe. For example, one recipe calls for avocado oil and a brand specific MCT oil. Why?Additionally, the sweetness level is not much. Youâll have to add more sweetener to get more flavor.Lastly, the resulting ice cream on the first recipe I tried was hard as stone coming out of the freezer. I could not scoop it out of the container AT ALL. It was literally like trying to crack a stone. I had to put the container in the microwave for a minute to get some out.Good concepts in here and I will try more recipes but I get really frustrated when I buy a recipe book and the first one I try clearly hasnât been tested.Maybe I should just willy nilly write a recipe book, publish it and hope for the best. Is this how people make money these days?Many of the recipes are either coconut milk based or real milk based. Some call for raw egg yolks. No words about the safety of that.Iâll be using this book as an idea source as I experiment and figure out what really works and then maybe Iâll go ahead and write one that brings people some success. Thank you for inspiring me to become a cookbook author to fix the problem of vague, inexplicable, untested recipes.Amazon, suggestion for a new niche market line: TESTED recipe books.
