Title: A Fascinating Look at the World of Hockey
Review: I really enjoyed this book. Even though I'm far from a hockey novice, I learned quite a bit that I didn't know about the history of the game, as well as interesting aspects of the equipment. This book is well written, and the authors do a great job of bringing the game to life through fascinating player and coach stories. The book expands beyond the NHL by discussing hockey leagues in other countries, as well as women and minorities throughout hockey history. Very entertaining.

Title: Seemed like a good choice ...
Review: This was a gift for my 13-year-old nephew's BD last month. He loves hockey and plays on two different teams. When he opened it, he didn't seem very impressed, but that might have been because he was surrounded by some of his buddies.I thought the book had some interesting stuff, historical trivia. He may have liked better than he let on. After all, getting a book for your BD is almost as bad as getting clothes, right?

Title: It is okay
Review: I bought this book hoping to be able to read some excerpts as my fourth grade son's classroom mystery reader. I think I found enough material to use. I think the book will be interesting for him, but had the potential to be so much better.1- a few editing mistakes2- my son is a goalie, I would have loved to see a goalie player profile- the interesting facts weren't really all that interesting3- I liked the breakdown of gear (it referenced goalie gear too!)4- good description of rules5- it could have done without the graphic references of blades to the neck
