Title: Family-friendly escape game - great for beginners
Review: My husband and I have done about 6 escape rooms and have played about 7 escape board games (mostly EXIT brand but not exclusively). We chose this beginner-friendly game so that we could involve our 5 year old. He generally enjoyed the story (not particularly scary with familiar fairy tales) and was able to participate/contribute with some guidance. Actively encouraging younger children to participate in problem solving will necessarily make the game take longer - honestly, we probably should have slowed down more during some puzzles to improve my son's experience. I think 7 or 8 is probably a better starting age (with adult involvement) for attention span/fine motor skills reasons - if my son was a little more coordinated, he could have helped more with cutting and writing. Unlike most escape games I've played, this one is rigidly sequential - you can only work on one puzzle at a time and have to finish that puzzle before moving on. For that reason, I think it's a good choice for 1-2 people but comes with more "downtime" as the number of participants increases (less of an issue if more experienced players are actively guiding a beginner and/or child through problem-solving rather than trying to blaze through themselves). This game also has "souvenirs" to keep at the end, which is a nice touch especially for beginners and/or kids.

Title: Good for beginners
Review: We enjoyed this one, this is the type that follows pages and cards in sequential order so it is good for beginners since it is quite logically arranged. We only had minor confusion with two of the puzzles, for instance, the seeds mentioned are on both the front and back of the applicable page and we started on the wrong side which took up quite a bit of our time so make that more clear. And the bridge one took a little bit of time to get but it was a good game and cute pieces to keep at the end. 🙂 would have been fun if you actually had to use them for the game but maybe too time consuming. Cute Fairy Tail concept also.

Title: Quality components, okay gameplay
Review: I was impressed with the physical components of this game. The various items were well designed and fun to handle and work with. The puzzles themselves I was a little bit less thrilled with. Some were really satisfying, with an "aha!" moment that made the steps clear (the leaf was a good example of this), and some just took some persistence and careful attention, but a couple were frustratingly opaque. I found the clue card system unhelpful in these cases. They seemed to ramp immediately from essentially rephrasing the puzzle to just giving the answer, and I would have liked more hinting in between. I also felt like the frame story was less interesting and immersive than it could have been, and most of the puzzles seemed to connect to it in only the most tenuous of ways. I bought this to play with my kids, but they didn't find it terribly engaging, and I ended up doing most of it on my own. I think I'll pass on other items in this series, but people solving with a group of older children or adults might find this more satisfying than we did.

Title: So Much Fun
Review: I love these EXIT games. This one was lots of fun with cute characters and great little puzzles. I have played other EXIT games and this was not my favorite, but still enjoyed it and do not regret having bought it. It is a good beginner game and also there were some very challenging riddles which kept it interesting. When playing these games for the first time there is a slight learning curve. After you have played one or two you will better know what to expect in terms of where to look for clues and Solutions. They are very tricky. With all the EXIT games in order to solve the riddles you have to think outside the box, but also sometimes inside the box. When I buy these games I get two of them. One for me and I have one sent to my daughter in another state. We play over FaceTime and have a blast. It usually takes us two evenings to finish. This type of game has provided a great opportunity for my daughter and I to still spend quality time together.I always look forward to purchasing our next set of games. The developers have done a great job of designing a mini escape room in a box.

Title: Just plain fun
Review: This is the third time playing one of these exit games. The first time we (2 people) actually felt frantic because we felt time pressured and looked at the clues too quickly. Then we opted for solving the puzzles without trying for hints. This time we had three players and everyone wanted control of the wheel, or the puzzle sheets. There's always a sense of time frustration lurking, giving the game an edgy feel. This puzzle for novice level was simpler than the others with three stars. Still we managed to mangle one of the puzzles with our incorrect folding skills. And it was fun using some drawing skills as we all did some funky ones and laughed at them. And always remember the box can be part of any puzzle, but in very different ways.We just enjoy them more as we play them, as some learning curve factors in for puzzle styles. It's hard to believe the creative story line, the puzzles to solve (a great mix of obvious to nah, never gonna get that), and unique items comes in such a small box. Just plain fun for two to three hours if you like puzzles, a challenge, and cooperative gaming.

Title: way too complicated
Review: The puzzles didn't make any sense at all. They were mostly on cards, and each side had a puzzle, but I couldn't tell which puzzle I should be solving. I was a little fun to escape though.

Review: Shame it’s only to be played once (as you cut and write on the cards etc) but a cheap, fun game with just the right amount of difficulty. We streamed the instructions, timer and mood music to the TV and used a few clues to keep us going. Lovely theme! Our first exit game and will definitely buy more. Little difficult for our youngest (12) but such a fun way to spend the evening. Everything well thought out and neatly organised, plus a keepsake at the end. Def recommend

Review: So fun, but on the easier side of the Exit games I would say. I’ve played other level 2 Exit games that were more challenging. I think this might be a great one to start with if you’re new to the series.
