Title: Great for linux.
Review: My previous asus chromebook with touch screen did not work well with linux. This one withouttouch screen works perfectly. I never acclimated myself to touchscreens, so this is no problem for me.

Title: Simple and Beautiful Quality for cheap price
Review: I bought this laptop as a present for my girl because she didn't want to deal with the complications of using Windows, so I thought a Chromebook would be perfect for her. Turns out, it is! I was very surprised by how great the build quality is for a cheap laptop. Even though it is plastic, it's a smooth, hard plastic, and the hinges are very strong. The screen is amazing, bright with good colors. For basic tasks like browsing, documents, play store games, streaming platforms, and listening to music, it is very fast and snappy. We haven't tried more demanding tasks yet, but we'll see. The battery life is decent so far. I'm very happy with this purchase; I got it on Black Friday, so I paid less than 200 dollars, and for that price, it's really worth it!P.S.: It's a little bit heavier than I expected, but it's fine for carrying it in a backpack.P.S.2: When it's updating, the base of the laptop gets very hot, so more demanding tasks might cause it to throttle a bit due to the heat.

Title: It seems this was a used device, I ordered new
Review: The device itself, the hardware okay. It is cheap so it does not have a touch screen. I got it to familiarize myself with Chromebooks and Chrome OS. And I learned some lessons :-)The biggest issue was that I thought I had purchased a new device but that did not seem to have been the case.First of all this device initially behaved very strangely. I am a Chromebook novice but everything pointed to that device having a different administrator than me, I did not have full control over certain features, like I could not add the ability for guests to use it and some other features were greyed out. The most stupid thing was that I could not set a password for the Chromebook itself but had to use my Google account pw, which is cryptic and long and it was unnerving to type this in each type when starting the machine up.I learned then that the factory reset, also called "powerwash" is what I should try and so I did. It appears this solved the problem, I now have full administrative control over the device. And it restarts and is asking for the computer's pw or pin, which is a lot easier to type in than the G-account pw.So I will watch it how this evolves. For now it seems to work quite well. It is probably the most simple Chromebook in the market, no bells and whistles but everything one needs for basic tasks. One positive to share is that the battery lasts a really long time without charging.

Title: Very nice, especially for the price
Review: "ASUS C424MA-AS48F Chromebook" Got it for $200. Looks nice, I like the keyboard and trackpad. Pretty light. The power supply is not bulky. Nice display. Chrome OS is very Linuxey, which is OK for me. Was able to install some Linux apps no problem. I'm not a fan of tablets or full blown laptops. I have a desktop for heavy duty stuff. I just need a laptop for light duty portable use, and it's perfect for that. There are a few weird things you can't do with the trackpad, but plugging in a mouse works fine. It couldn't find my Sennheiser Bluetooth earbuds for some reason, even tho my Android phone can. IMPORTANT NOTE: The spec chart on the Amazon page rates the touch screen at 4.2. This Chromebook doesn't have a touchscreen.

Title: Garbage
Review: Quality is bad can’t do anything besides scroll the internet, the speed is garbage can’t do nothing it’s slow, graphics are not to bad, connectivity for WiFi is pretty decent connects pretty fast to Bluetooth and WiFi, weight it’s pretty light, and the battery life is pretty damn long unless you somehow manage to put a virus on there then it most likely will drain the life out of it but other than overall it’s Terrible to buy, a waste of 200/500$

Title: Good until...
Review: I was very happy with this new Chromebook. I've been using Asus Chromebooks for years and my latest told me they would no longer support it after June, so I got this one when it was on special. I've had it for about two weeks and tried to go online to pay bills this morning and my bank said they no longer support this OS and I needed to download something else. Huh? On a brand new computer? Luckily, someone helped me figure out that it needed to be updated and it's fine now. But why didn't it already have the latest OS? That's why I gave it only three stars. I would have returned it if I wasn't able to access my bank.

Title: I needed a 2nd, light-weight computer..this was a great purchase!
Review: I love this little power house. My ONLY caveat would be if you need to hook it up to a computer DO YOUR RESEARCH. I bought a Brother printer that said it worked with Chromebooks...only to find out it doesn't work with THIS variety.

Review: Came even before estimated delivery date, while two other Chromebooks I attempted to buy were delayed delayed delayed. This Asus Chromebook feels a little heavy and does not seem to have a backlit keyboard. Has been fine for just accessing webpages so far without using Android or Linux on it. Also happy that screen is 1080p not 720p. Keyboard is just as bad (shallow) as the previous Acer Chromebook I had though.
