Title: Good on carpet, not so much on hard floors
Review: I think it does a good job on the carpeting, but the mopping feature might as well not be on this unit. It puts such a small amount of liquid on the floor that it really can't clean very well. It was easy to map our home, but it does put a wall between rooms in the wrong place for some reason!

Title: This product is absolute trash - save your nerves and do not buy
Review: I saved up and waited for 9 months to buy this product. I thought iRobot was a market leader, apparently not even close. Calling this robot a disappointment would be an understatement. Here is everything that is wrong with it:- Set-up: At setup, the app would not connect to my Roomba. I did trouble shooting in the app. Had to read Internet forums and change a bunch of Wi-Fi settings- nothing helped. 2 days later, on the 20th try; it just randomly connected. (I wish it hadnât so I couldâve retuned it). Once it finally worked, I let it map my house. That was ok.- Cleaning: This thing can vacuum, but absolutely can not mop. It just refused to work on the mop function. And docked itself while on the mop setting, leaving a bunch of water on the charging dock. The vacuum suction power is also subpar. But the biggest problem is that it gets stuck over and over again, which brings me toâ¦- Obstacle detection: I donât know what kind of obstacle detection this is supposed to have because it seems to have none. It still runs over all my cables (even though itâs supposed to avoid them), will go and get stuck in corners I specifically told it to avoid via the map programming, and the most ridiculous part - it will bounce against the same wall over and over again, until it gives an error and I have to manually dock it back. After docking back, ir will do the same thing. This is all AFTER mapping, and with no changes to the house layout.- Emptying: The docking station emptying is incredibly loud- to the point of giving a fright not only to pets and kids, but also adults in the household.Overall: Would give it 0 stars if I could. The product is incredibly buggy and user experience is frustrating at every step. Do yourself a favor and buy your vacuum from another company.

Title: Works wonderful on luxury vinyl floors and Ruggables!
Review: I love this Roomba. I had an older model that you had to empty. I still have it and use it in my barn office. This one is awesome! I can have it clean all the floors in the morning while I'm having my coffee. I have 4 small dogs and 3 cats living inside and it does better than I can do with my Swiffer or my Shark. I don't think I would use it for carpeting. I use my Shark for the carpeted downstairs. Gone are the giant dust bunnies (I call them indoor tumbleweeds). I also love that it empties itself at it's docking station. The machine is pretty quiet compared to my older model. I will warn that when it empties it is very loud for 4 or 5 seconds. My main floor is almost 1800 ft. of cleaning area. It can clean most of it on one charge. I also like its internal mapping. You can specify rooms so you can clean only the rooms you want. The initial mapping takes a few hours but I only had to do that once. After that, it can find new areas when cleaning and let you know. You can also adjust the boundaries and change the room names. You set up quick links in the program. The only problem I am having is setting it up with my Alexa Echo. It is paired and you can see it in the Alexa app but I cannot get Alexa to respond to a clean command.

Title: Trial and error
Review: Update: added 1-star. Over time, my user experience has improved. Wall-E (our robot's name) got better, Cleaned, returned to base, emptied the bin, recharged, and then went back to work.I use my Alexa devices for commands as the app is a mess. The headache of enduring the early days of machine learning may not be for everybody. But, in all fairness, it's a better product now than it was a few months and many cleaning cycles ago.I'm relieved, as the reviews are very mixed on this thing.=====Original 3-star review: The phone app needs to be fixed. I have better success using an Alexa device to send commands to the robot. It will often find its home base, only to appear lost now and then, and I have to tell Alexa to send it home.It will sometimes go in circles for an extended time and not vacuum, only to work fine on the next job I schedule. At $500, and given its inconsistent operation, it's not something I can rave about. Its best use is regular light vacuuming, and on the weekend, I nonetheless have to drag out my Dyson for deeper cleaning.Be mindful of this if you're considering a purchase.

Title: This robot vaccum (and mop!) has changed my life!
Review: This robot vaccum has changed my life. I'm saving at least 30min a day, can do a quick area before guests arrive- and it mops, too!It goes around the legs on my dining room chairs to get those gross lingering dog hairs.I even raised my couch so no more allergy storms brewing up there.Same for all the beds- no more dust bunnies! It knows when it's about to bump into the dog and redirects. It can even tell when it might hit an accidental spill or dog accident and goes around!!This saves the 30 minutes I would have spent vacccuming but it does a far better job than I could do in 30 minutes. And it mops, too!Automatically returned to empty it's own bin then continue where it left off as well as charge if I've ran it a lot, then goes right back to it.My house looks so much fresher and is actually cleaner while I'm doing even less!

Review: This product was way better than expected! It improves each time you use it. Always mapping out to make sure it gets every area possible. Very impressed! I love how it goes under furniture and under all my beds. Now that I have one I won't be able to go without it. It runs every day and saves me so much time. Works well on carpets and I have 4 cats and 1 dog. Loved it so much I bought 1 for upstairs and another for downstairs. Detects stairs, toys and anything that's in the way. Total lifesaver on cleaning time! Buy one you won't regret it!

Review: What a complete waste of money! This vacuum has never been able to complete a single cleaning accurately, even though it seems to think it has. Large areas are completely ignored, even though it's a fairly small 2-bedroom apartment. Purchased the iRobot in November/23 but didn't set up and use until May/24. I previously had a $299 Ninja Shark that cleaned 100 times better than this useless piece of junk, even though it had no mapping capabilities. The main reason I made a change was that I awoke in the middle of the night a number of times to the sounds of something, or someone, bumbling around in the living room. It turned out that the Shark had embarked on unscheduled vacuuming forays between 2:30 and 4:00 am, scaring me half to death. As I live alone, this was quite startling, so I decided to spring for a new robot vacuum with mapping capabilities. The iRobot is now giving out signals that the battery doesn't work (button lights up in red) when it's only been used for two months and is not used daily. Mostly once or twice weekly, some weeks not at all.I purchased all the mopping supplies as well, more $ wasted as I am afriaid to even try the mopping feature.I'm sorry that I didn't just choose a new Shark with mapping ability.Tried to get to the support web site, only to find that "the server can't be found". Excuse me???I utterly regret this purchase, as it was fairly expensive and the vacuum is quite useless. The app is not at all intuitiveAmazon has had a LOT of my money over the years!NO, I absolutely DO NOT recommend this product.Update: now going backwards and in circles. Can't even get itself out of the room where it docks.WORST PURCHASE I HAVE EVER MADE!!!

Review: I cheaped out on my first robot vacuum and bought one without smart mapping. I had no idea how important that feature is. Don't skip that feature! The knock off one I ordered before (Laresar) was like $350 and died in under 6 months. It constantly bonked hard into everything, was total chaos/random on where it would go, never connected to my Alexa, customer support was completely MIA, no warranty, just bad. For my birthday this year my husband bought me the Roomba J7. I am kind of confused why it says J9 on the side, but whatever. My only other strange thing is when you try to setup the mop on the Roomba app, despite scanning the barcode it came with, it seems to send directions for an entirely different unit. Telling you to put down a drip tray and plug in a separate device. Because of this, I thought my roomba was missing pieces, so I contacted Amazon and they sent me another roomba, that one didn't have a drip tray/other plug in device either, so I came to the conclusion that there's something wrong with the mop setup directions on the app. Besides for that though, it's done a pretty dang good job of keeping the (hardwood) floor quite clear of debris. It's fascinating to watch it slow down when approaching objects so it doesn't hit them as hard, or how it reroutes itself around things in its way. Quite intelligent. It is a bit loud when it's going, but that doesn't bother me all that much. I have a medium pile area rug in the living room and it doesn't do a very good job of sucking up the cat hair that's embedded in the fibers of the carpet...it just pushes the cat hair into rolls. I wouldn't waste my money on this if you mostly have carpeted floors - it works much better on hardwood/laminate/vinyl floors. I appreciate the ease of connection with Alexa to this robot, I like the self emptying container, I like that it reroutes itself very easily when it gets stuck somewhere. I haven't used the mop on it just yet, but even still, I would recommend this product to others.
Customers say
Customers have negative opinions about the value for money and sturdiness of the robotic vacuum cleaner. They mention it's a huge waste of money, gets stuck in corners, and keeps going over the same areas while ignoring others. Customers also dislike the noise level and connectivity. Opinions are mixed on the vacuum's quality, functionality, and ease of mapping.
