End the hassle of twisted, tangled power cords forever with the Panasonic NI-WL600 Cordless, Portable 1500W Contoured Multi-Directional Steam/Dry Iron. Unlike corded irons, this sleek, ergonomic 360° Freestyle iron uses a double-tipped soleplate to glide effortlessly in every direction for precision and speed; perfect for everyday ironing and for quilting, crafting and sewing projects. Its curved, non-stick stainless steel soleplate glides seamlessly over fabric without tugging or wrinkling and maneuvers nimbly around buttons, along collars and over sleeves, cuffs and pleats. To use, simply set the iron into the charging base and select the temperature for the fabric you're ironing. In minutes, a temperature ready light illuminates and you're ready to go. If you're interrupted while ironing and forget to unplug the base, no worries. The base automatically turns itself off after 10 minutes. When done the touch of a button on the base smoothly retracts the cord into the base to eliminate messy power cord storage. A heat-resistant carrying case snaps onto the iron and base for instant portability and storage. Adjustable steam and dry settings create the ideal concentration of steam, or no steam at all for everyday fabrics, delicates and easy touch-ups for when no steam is needed. For hanging garments, curtains and drapes, the push of a button applies a powerful burst of vertical steam to relax and remove unsightly wrinkles or creases. And with the Panasonic NI-WL600 cordless iron you can fill the iron's water tank at the sink without having to bring the whole iron with you. A durable, lightweight water tank easily detaches with the touch of a button for no-spill refills. The iron's built-in anti-drip system provides a long-life water seal inside the iron body to prevent water leakage and protect clothing from water spotting. An anti-calcium system automatically prevents steam vents from clogging by reducing sediment build-up in the vaporizing chamber of the iron. Water Tank : Detachable, Iron - Temperature Range : 176°F - 392°F.

Title: Rowenta Fan Switches to Panasonic
Review: I was a Rowenta snob before deciding to give this innovative Panasonic a shot. I iron several times a week, and use steam even at the lower heat settings. I am also a customer willing to pay extra for a really good iron, so a bargain hunter who doesn't iron often won't benefit from my review. When I opened the box of this Panasonic cordless, I thought I was going to end up returning it. The design was too different, and it somehow looked small, even though its soleplate size was essentially the same as my old Rowenta. This is what won me over:1. It heats up fast each time it's on the base and stays hot for several minutes2. Steam works incredibly well at all settings--a mix of large and smaller steam holes on the stainless steel sole plate3. Great glide over fabric4. No cord to worry about while ironing and the cord on the base retracts for storage - safe and neat5. It was easy on my wrist--not too heavy, but still felt well-madeSome things you traditionalists should know:1. It is multi-directional, which means both ends are pointed so there's no way to rest this iron on the board if you need to adjust what you are ironing.2. You have to place the iron the right way on the heating base (only one end connects to the heating source). I put the base right onto the ironing board, and got used to placing the iron there. It took some getting used to, but I'm over it now. Also, I have a large 49" x 18" Polder board, so I had lots of room to place the iron base. If you have a tiny board, you will need a table or cart nearby to place the base.2. There are only 3 heat settings, so if you like all those in-between options, this iron may not be for you. Honestly, I had a million settings on my old Rowenta, and probably only used the equivalent of 3 of them anyway. For me, simpler is better and I liked the settings on this iron--they worked fine on a variety of things like jeans, cotton, and silk.Rowenta irons are still royalty in the ironing world, but this Panasonic cordless held its own, and I am glad I bought it.Note: I had my traditional, corded Rowenta for about 8 years, and loved how it got out wrinkles. It fell off my ironing board for the last time and broke last month. The new Panasonic cordless also ensures that I will never have an iron fall over like that again because I am now trained to place it on its heating base.

Title: I use this for Quilting and Clothing
Review: This replaced a decent (read expensive) Rowenta with a cord. My dog pulled the Rowenta off the ironing board by catching his foot or tail in the cord. The Rowenta lived and so did the dog, but out of concern for the safety of dog and home I immediately started shopping for a new iron--cordless being the first priority.I was concerned that the iron would not be as hot as I need it to be for linen and cotton and read all the reviews and decided to try it anyway because it is easily returned to Amazon. I chose the steel sole plate and did not want a non-stick sole plate because of toxins and scratching.Happily - I am able to announce that I am using it almost daily for quilting and weekly for the laundry/ironing tasks. It stays hot - good and hot. I have a Polder ironing board with a metal tray at the end for an iron to sit on. I place the base there and the board is free so I can iron with no trouble. I use the iron, put it back on the base, adjust whatever I am ironing and continue ironing in this manner. This keeps the iron hot all the time. It takes 10 minutes for the auto shut off and so as long as I am working steadily there is no problem. The Rowenta had an auto-off like most higher price irons and it was off every time I turned around. I hated that.As a quilter, I usually work in an assembly line fashion, I piece everything I can, press and then piece again and press so I do not have a problem with the iron cooling down in the middle of my work.I took the Panasonic Cordless to my quilting and sewing group meetings and everyone came running over to see it--it is really lovely. Some people oohed and aahhhed, and put it on their Christmas list, but some were quickly disinterested. We all have our own needs--and this iron suits me very well. Because of the cordless design, I don't mind ironing at all anymore.Reasons to like it:The iron is beautiful, with a clean design, 4 simple soft-touch buttons. The clear case is one of the best features as it can be carried to quilting classes or sewing groups. It is easy to set temperatures, there are 3 temps and you can press a button and choose the appropriate temp, no spinning dial or guessing like most irons. There are lights to show if its cool or hot.Iron gets very hot.Steam feature works fine, although I often use a dry iron for quilting. The removable water tank is fantastic. No more carrying water in a pitcher to my iron to refill it. Now I can gently release the tank and take it right to the water source.Retractable cord on the base.I should also mention that I don't use the spray feature because of habit I keep a large sprayer filled with fresh rosemary scented water. My only gripe, a small one, is that I wish it had a longer cord on the base, but then it probably would not be retractable.

Title: Small Ironing Jobs
Review: I purchased this for some small ironing jobs that are difficult to accomplish with my regular corded iron.I like how the water tank is removable to fill and empty. I love the retractable cord. The iron is lightweight and easy to handle. The case is an added bonus. I use this with a wool ironing pad to iron the flange on my sheets, makes smoothing it out on the bed easy and quick. I also use to iron napkins. Steam function works great. For the purpose I intend to use, I am pleased. I hope it lasts without malfunction.

Title: Love This Iron!
Review: I am taking a quilting class and we have these irons in the classroom. I absolutely loved how these feel. They are light weight, glide across the fabric easily, and get very hot. Best of all there's no cord that gets dragged around and getting in the way while you are trying to work. I highly recommend them.

Review: Iâve only used it once and like it very much for all the reasons other people have mentioned. I will be more encouraged to iron because the cordless feature - The cord on my old one always seemed to be getting in the way and I felt it could be a danger if I wasnât extremely careful. I hadnât noticed in the picture so I was surprised to see that the cord was at the front of the charge plate other than the back so that the cord has to go under the ironing board to then drop down to the outlet. Maybe itâs just the positioning of my outlet ! Not a deal breaker but seems strange. Love the retractable cord and the carry case. Looks so much neater when itâs stowed in the linen closet.

Review: The first time I learnt of the product dated back 19 years ago from my sister. She told me how much she liked the freedom of a cordless iron. She bought it in HK while it was not available in Canada. I had been waiting for 9 years to finally see the product launched here in Canada. I bought it right away and have been very satisfied with it. I have a lot of clothes to iron each week, the cordless iron just makes my life a lot easier. My in-law visited us recently and discovered the beauty of the device and fell in love with it, so we bought another for my sister-in-law last month. This is a newer version comparing to what I have, I have heard my sis-in-law has been carrying the unit around the house since it has a very smart cover with a handle. I guess this is a good sign that she likes it otherwise she wouldn't be this attached. We are very impressed how fast Amazon.ca delivered the iron. I ordered it on a Friday and my sister-in-law got it the following Monday morning at the door. Good job, Amazon!I have to admit that I have not used the steam feature. Not that it has anything bad, I just don't want to clean all the mineral build-ups from water and the unit could be lighter. It is lighter than a regular iron which is good to me since I have lots to do each time.Highly recommended.

Review: I really, really like this iron a LOT! Itâs small enough to get into tight corners, no cord to trip over, and heats up really fast. You get enough ironing time before having to put back in holder to recharge. I donât even notice itâs recharging because I iron as I normally would, straightening out the clothing, ironing that spot, set the iron down (but now in the charger instead of on the ironing board), pick up the iron and continue on. It only takes a few seconds to recharge, so by the time you move the clothing and are ready for the next strokes, the iron is hot and ready again. Honestly, itâs not like you have to stand around and wait a few minutes. Itâs just SECONDS. It holds hot heat for at least a couple minutes, plenty long enough to iron each spot. Thereâs nothing to dislike about it. I was hesitant but now, I would never go back to a corded iron. Youâll love this invention. Highly recommended!
