Medicap FE 1/2" SUPER iron systemic implants are useful in all types of trees with iron deficiency, a condition known as chlorosis. Such deficiencies are normally associated with calcareous, arid or sandy soil conditions. Trees most susceptible are oak (pin oak and white oak), black locust, eucalyptus, birch, sweet gum (liquid amber), pine, magnolia, sycamore, dogwood, podocarpus, poplar, catalpa, citrus, peach, pear, apple, avocado and silver maple. One treatment will last for 2 to 3 years. Medicaps are easily installed by tapping the implants with a hammer and bolt or dowel rod into pre-drilled 1/2" diameter holes in the lower tree trunk at 4 to 6 inch spacing. The cartridge head securely plugs the small wound made to the tree trunk and the active layer of cambium will soon grow over and close the implant site. Under normal moisture conditions, the chemical will move throughout the entire tree within 14 to 21 days for quick Greenup. 10 Medicaps will treat a 14 inch diameter tree. These 1/2" SUPER implants are for trees with a trunk diameter of 8" and larger.
Fast green-up for iron deficient trees

Title: worth the money
Review: I am so glad we were advised to use these capsules on our tree. It's had an iron deficiency for years and we could never figure out what was wrong. We were told it didn't get enough copper. Someone said we weren't giving it enough water. None of that helped. All of it was frustrating! And then we learned about this product. We used it on our tree and were told since it is so late in the year not to expect any great results, but to wait till next year. That was not necessary. Our tree has grown new limbs. These branches are all so green whereas before they were yellow-brown and dying. I would really recommend this product because it works!

Title: They work, easy to install
Review: I'm now buying my second round of these for my 3 Maples. Very easy to install, just drill the appropriate size hold and pound it in. I wrapped masking tape around the bit as a mark to make sure I was drilling to the appropriate depth. All three of my trees greened up within a month and look much healthier. Now it's almost 2 years later and the leaf tips are yellow again- will re- treat and I expect the same good results.

Title: Saved my tree!
Review: The yellowing had taken over my oak and it was losing leaves in summer and with some research I realized it needed iron. Soil amendments won't work and it's a waste of time. I've used these every few years here in OK and have a big beautiful lush oak in the center of my front yard that does a great job now of blocking the WEST SUNSET!Update: I'm using this once a yr now. I have a Bermuda lawn and we are in a high heat drought area so my tree loses a lot of nutrients. My oak is maybe 12 or 15 yrs old and still getting bigger each year, so this has been keeping her super healthy and lush green and vibrant. It's a West facing tree and our yards only tree. Her dead leaves don't drop until right before she sprouts new green ones. It's now May and she is about two weeks into getting new leaves so we are treating her w this product right now. We normally see results in two weeks as long as it rains or we water w sprinkler system. I'm just so proud I discovered this and saved her. I use to fret she had a disease and that wed lose our only tree. So happy that I discovered she was iron deficient....anemic. She's THE BEST TREE in the entire neighborhood!

Title: This works, if it's what your tree(s) need...
Review: I have used these in the past, to help out a Silver Maple in my own yard, and found them to be an excellent tree saver! I recommend them to neighbors who have the same problem too.In 2014, I bought this package for my daughter's 50 year old Silver Maple tree that was in terrible shape. The leaves on over half the tree had turned yellow prematurely, and several branches had already died. When I told her why this happens - poor soil and not enough iron in the soil to feed the tree, or her grass - she was wasn't sure what to do. I told her to hire a tree service to cut the dead branches off so they wouldn't break off and fall on her house, her cat (who sleeps under the tree regularly), cars, or passing pedestrians. The damage those big branches could do was not covered by her home owners insurance, since it's something she can control with knowledge on how and would be excluded from a claim, and she'd likely loose her insurance over it and be sued big time too, if the branches hurt someone. She did hire a tree service to cut the dead branches off and do an iron injection treatment. These helped a lot, though I still saw some yellowing later in the summer, despite what they did. They told her the injection treatment would be necessary annually. I told her the injections would likely need doing 3 times a year for the next couple years, to make up for the deficiency it has likely suffered for some time. She said she can't afford to do that. So, I ordered these, hoping to save her from having to hire the tree service to do the injections - at a much more expensive price no less. I told her to put these in instead and see what happens next year. They really helped save my own Silver Maple from turning yellow last year and this one too; so I know they will do the same thing for her tree.If you have yellowing of leaves on any of your trees and bushes, the first thing you should do is research. Then call your local state Extension Office and see what they might know and suggest. Mine (in CO) said to get soil testing and and hire an arborist. I did both and was very glad I did. I ended up treating my trees and bushes, and all my gardens with iron supplements and an organic fertilizer. This year, I removed all the landscape rock from under the bushes (which over heats the roots of the bushes), added organic compost to everything (landscape and grass yards) and then put down organic mulch under the bushes and trees. I'm sure everything will look much better next spring and I won't need to use and artificial fertilizers. If my Silver Maple (which I would replace with something native if I could afford to) turns yellow again, I won't hesitate to order these put them in the my tree.

Title: Didnât work
Review: I had high hopes for this product as many reviewers said they had success after a month. Drilled 14 of these into a good size oak tree in my backyard with half of tree having light green to yelllow leaves. Installed these in May, itâs now August and not one sign of improvement. I too see stains from the holes now too. Disappointing. My only hope is that the effects will appear betttee next season.

Customers say
Customers like the functionality, greenness, and ease of installation of the fertilizer. They mention it really works, provides iron to trees, and is easy to install. However, some customers have reported that the leaves are turning yellowish and fading. Opinions are mixed on the growth rate.
