What's the Point of a Knife Edge Guard?

We all know the best knife is a sharp knife, but honing and sharpening become futile when your knife blades are playing bumper cars in a knife drawer or knife bag! Knife edge guards are highly recommended, if not necessary, for keeping your knives from being dinged, nicked, and dulled while being carried in a knife roll or stored loose in a drawer.

Got it. I do need knife covers. So which ones do I get?

Well that is the question! It comes down to quality preference! Thin or paper edge guards work for a bit before the knives cut through them, and you have to purchase again. If you’re looking more for a 1-time buy, Noble Home & Chef’s edge guards are a high-quality, but cost-efficient solution.

Why Noble Home & Chef?

We didn’t name ourselves Noble for nothing! It is our primary goal to provide you with quality and trustworthy products for your home and kitchen. Our knife sheaths are no exception!

What Sets Noble Home & Chef’s Edge Guards Apart?

Felt-Lined to give your knife blades extra protection, even down to the finish Cut-proof materials Thick, high-impact sustainable ABS plastic BPA-Free, non-toxic, making it safer for use with food as opposed to PVC Resistant to abrasions Larger size options Fit most paring, utility, boning, Santoku, chef, and bread knives 12” x 2.25” (2) Knives Not Included

SAFER MATERIALS FOR FOOD PREP!

Noble Home & Chef chooses ABS resin over PVC plastic for our knife covers, because it is BPA-free, non-toxic, and safer for food preparation than its common alternative, PVC.

GENTLE ON YOUR BLADES!

Our knife guards are felt-lined so that they protect your knives’ integrity without marring their finish or dulling the blades as they slide in and out of the sheath.

Excellent for Chefs

Our blade protectors are designed to fit most paring, utility, boning, Santoku, chef, and bread knives, perfect for professional chefs and fancy home cooks alike!

The Durable Option

We also choose ABS over PVC plastic for our knife guards, because it is a harder material, more resistant to abrasions, and has a higher impact strength! Noble Home & Chef edge guards are designed to be thick, cut-proof, and more durable than thinner, flimsier edge guards.

Title: Wasn't sure what to these but these are nice
Review: I was looking for rigid knife covers and was unable to find them. These look floppy in the pictures but I thought I'd give them a try. Indeed they are rigid and I think they will prevent cuts!

Title: Knife cover
Review: They work perfect. They don't slide off in the drawer so you can put a brand new knife away without dulling the blade.

Title: Blade Protection
Review: I liked the quality of guards and their sleek look and felt lining. My only caveat is that because of the shape of the hilt on my bread knife, I was unable to fully insert it. It's a minor flaw owing to the shape of the knife hilt. Nevertheless, I highly recommend these knife guards because of their quality and fair pricing. Thanks, Robert

Title: I have yet to be stabbed by my knives.
Review: These are great. They really keep your knives from stabbing you. You'd think it's the chef's knife that's out to get you, but I've had an eye on the bread knife for a while and it's starting to look pretty shady if you know what I mean. For a while I thought the knives were looking to stab me for my shoes like happened on all of the after school specials in the 80's so I stopped wearing shoes. No change. Then I became concerned that maybe my knives are possessed by demons. Since they're knives, it seemed logical that they need to be quenched with blood. Obviously, right? Well, this calmed the chef's knife down pretty well, but just seems to have made the bread knife more angry.I thought that I could pit them against each other in a battle to the death Mad Max style- "two knives enter, one knife leaves!". They didn't seem interested. I don't get the impression that knives are interested in stabbing things they can't cut through, like each other. Or maybe it's an evolutionary survival of the species thing and knives instinctively can't hurt other knives. Makes sense right?Since in a lot of movies about demonic possession they can destroy the accursed items in a fire, I tried that next. Unfortunately, all I had was a couple of birthday candles, which just left black smudges that easily wiped off. No luck with fire then.I finally had to call in the big guns. When an item is cursed, what's the most powerful weapon in your arsenal? Holy water! I was really excited when I splashed the knives with holy water and they started sizzling! "Wow, self!" I said to myself, "we've finally solved the cursed knife problem once and for all". Nope, you guessed it, I just splashed on the holy water after trying the birthday candles and they were still kinda hot I guess. So, this brings us to the 2-Piece Universal Knife Edge Guards (12"). While I don't think they've really done much to silence the bloodthirsty demons who possess my cutlery, the guards have rendered their primary means of attack, stabbing, moot and I am forever grateful for that.I have to say, whether your knives are possessed by a infernal hellion or not, the 2-Piece Universal Knife Edge Guards (12") will definitely keep you from getting stabbed. Now, if I could only figure out what those spatulas were up to...

Title: Work well for slicer knives
Review: I got a pair of slicer knives for Christmas. There's no more room on the magnetic knife block and the slicers are too long to fit there anyway. I didn't want to just toss them in a drawer. That didn't seem safe for knives or humans. These edge guards are an excellent solution. The guards are a rigid plastic lined with a soft, felt-like material. The have just enough give to allow the knife blade to slide in without undue effort but not so much that the knife is going to slide out on its own. With the guards in place the knives can safely be stored in a drawer. The slicer set I got includes a 10" and a 12" knife. Both knives are fully protected by these 12" knife guards.

Title: These are great!
Review: These knife holders are amazing! They fit all of my knives perfectly. Just make sure you know how long yours are so you don't short sheet the coverage. They are kind of velvety on the inside and thin so they don't take up a ton of room in the drawer. They lie nice and flat. So far they are holding up well to repeated use!

Review: My knives are 8 inches and 10 inches and these are way too big for either one. I missed the size info in the item description. My fault. I can still use them though they are not ideal at this size (12 inches)

Title:
Review: the top of the sleeve is open so sometimes when I pick up the butcher knife the sleeve falls off. Top should be closed. Also it was way too long and difficult to cut back to to hard plastic. Not a good purchase. I made a better one out of a cereal box!
