Title: Well worth the money
Review: I’ve used this several times since receiving it. Mainly on knives that were hard to sharpen and had lost there edge. It worked great on all of them and they are all really sharp now. Great item. Well worth the money. Easy to use and easy to store when not in use.

Review: This sharpener works really well. It is easy to use and even sharpened our dull scissors! As a woman, I often had a hard time using other sharpeners but not this one. I simply set it on the counter and follow the easy to use directions. I would definitely recommend this product.

Review: Works fine and it's wonderful to have sharp knives to use again. I'm sure an actual chef's tools would work better, but I'm not a chef. Be sure to read the instructions for serrated and regular knives.

Title: OK for some knives, but NOT heavy-duty
Review: PROS:Easy to set up. Small, easy to store. Instructions easy to follow. Price was acceptable. Sharpens most straight knives but not serrated knives. (The instructions say its HONING wheel is OK for serrated knives, however.)CONS:Small, lightweight, feels kind of flimsy for a kitchen appliance I hope to keep for a long time. The grinding wheels are very thin. The mfr does sell replacement wheels but I hope these last a while. The unit runs on 12 volts DC (with the included AC adapter) and its little DC motor sounds awfully weak. The heavier knife sharpeners use an AC motor with some torque. This one is kind of feeble.

Title: Comfortable to have it in your kitchen
Review: It's very convenient to have this unit always ready when you need to sharpen a knife. Quick process. Compact. Good results.Note: 1st unit came defective. It turned off by itself while you were using it. Replacement sent quick and works as expected.

Title: Waste of time and money
Review: This thing is well-designed, easy to use and completely incapable of sharpening a knife. I know how to sharpen a knife by hand using diamond stones, but wanted something quicker and simpler. The "shape" and "sharpen" sides of the device guide the knife edge along two different abrasive disks, one coarser and one finer. As long as you lay the knife against the guide, you can't do it wrong, so it has to be the disks simply not having sufficient grit to do the job. Spend more for a better system or spend less and buy a set of diamond honing stones.

Review: Ein tolles Schleifergebnis liefert der Messerschärfer wenn man sich aus eigenen Fundus oder aus dem Internet ein 230V~ /12VDC_1000mA besorgt hat. Es liegt keine deutschsprachige Betriebsanleitung bei. Anscheinend wird dieses Gerät nur für den amerikanischen Markt in China gebaut. Deshalb auch der mitgelieferte110V Netzadapter, der sich platzsparend auf der Unterseite verstauen lässt. Anhand der Bildsymbole des usermanuals kann jeder erkennen wie der Schärfer funktioniert und erhält von sofort an ein tadelloses Schleifergebnis. Für zwischendurch verfügt das Gerät über eine Keramikrollvorrichtung in der das Messer ohne Netzbetrieb "abgezogen" bzw. nachgeschärft werden kann.Eine wunderbare Maschine. Dennoch bleiben zwei fragen offen wie lange halten die austauschbaren Schleifsteine und sind sie erhältlich?
