Title: Buy the book.
Review: I had heard of lasagna (layered) gardening before. Basic details are all over the internet and you can get it for free - no need to purchase the book for that. The author has the basics on her web site. However, the book gives wonderful ideas on how to use the method with different crops. I have been using Ruth Stouts method, this is just an updated version. And yes, this does work. If you have poor soil, or hard compacted soil like mine, this will be a time and life saver. One suggestion, loosen the soil under the layers. If you have horribly compacted soil, only the most determined worm will be able to navigate his way through it. Beyond being an easy way to garden, it is a kind way to garden. It builds the life of your garden - the soil.

Title: Lasagna gardening is the book I first used
Review: I used this book over 26 years ago and used it for my first planting of flowers. I gave an extra copy to a kid that love to garden. This is a great book to use if you have clay or sandy soil or difficult soil to plant in.

Title: Makes too much sense!
Review: The book was great - getting a little age on you makes you wonder how you can get your garden ready - this book was just what the doc ordered! Being the cynical being I am when I was at the co-op I asked a few questions around the method - while some didn't call it lasagna gardening most were familiar and many had been doing it for years. My beds are in process - those amazon boxes (of which I have WAY too many) are perfect for the bottom layer after you remove the tape and labels - add some peat moss and keep using her method.I loved the writing style - easy to understand and so full of ideas! I am hoping she writes another book with pictures of her gardens.

Title: Easy Gardening
Review: This is a great way to garden, especially if you don't have a tiller, can't operate one, need a raised garden, or just want to spend less time weeding. It is easy to plant and can plant closely to keep weeds out. It even shows how to reduce bugs that don't do plants good and increase the bugs and worms that help your garden.

Title: Life Changer
Review: I love gardening, but am a lazy gardener with a challenging yard: bad soil, with lots of trees and shade, and blasts of hot afternoon sun. Ugh. Throw in a demanding career and family and who has time to garden? This book changed EVERYTHING for me!!! I am obsessed with composting and leaves and newspaper now..haha. I love everything about this way of gardening so much I've shared this book with my mom, my sister, and my niece. We've all gone crazy in our gardens! I have built my first lasagna garden, a trial pumpkin patch that I'm just not sure will get enough sun, but those little pumpkin seedlings are so happy and healthy! I already have plans for two more lasagna gardens this year, plus I'm starting 3-4 more now for fall/spring. This book is the best gardening book I have ever read. Go get it now! You won't regret it!

Title: Excellent gardening tool!
Review: My neighbor uses this book, lent me her copy...I had to buy my own! She has the loveliest garden year after year, and I want to copy her!! I have 2 beds built, and so far the plants look amazing!! Some of the ideas are similar to "Square Foot gardening", but the layering concept is so easy to follow, I am thrilled. Can't wait to see how my garden progresses. Plus, my soil is terrible, so this is a way around lousy ground soil. 🙂 Easy read, lots of ideas for tailoring the garden in different settings.

Title: definitely going to try this technique
Review: this book is a easy read. I read it in one day. The first 1/3 of the book is describing the Lasagna Gardening method. She speaks in plain english and anyone who has even just a little knowledge of gardening will be able to follow. The second 1/3 is sort of a reference guide for different types of vegetables, sorted alphabetically by type of veggie. It describes what to do differently, if anything, for that type of veggie. The last 1/3 of the book is a reference for types of berries and types of flowers. Overall great book!!
