Title: Great machine for the price
Review: I purchased this machine in May, 2022, and thought I'd wait on submitting a review until there had been time enough to see whether it would make a reasonable return on investment. I'm pleased to share the fact that, for me, this was a great buy. My assessment is based upon the fact that 1) the machine has lasted 18 months and is still going strong; 2) it's paid for itself several times over based upon the coffee consumption habits in my household; and 3) it makes a very good mocha or latte style coffee, easily as good or better than Starbucks, as far as I and my wife are concerned.More specifically, in terms of cost/benefit, I'll share that in our household, we drink about three 16 oz mocha or latte style coffees per day, on average (excessive, I know). The cost of buying this much coffee at Starbucks or the local coffee stand would be approximately $25/day, including tip. The machine cost about $699 at time of purchase, and we've run, by this measure, about $13,500 worth of coffee through the thing. Sounds crazy, but $25 x 550 days does in fact equal a ridiculous amount of money spent on coffee.Plus, I think the frothing apparatus is ingenious: two pieces of plastic pressed together, which work quite well, certainly as well as a conventional wand frothing tool. Prior to buying the Phillips machine, we owned a Breville Oracle Touch Espresso Machine. The Breville is a large unit, fully automated, with all the bells and whistles. It costs about $3,000. We loved it for the two and a half years that it worked. Then it started leaking and we learned an important lesson about Breville products: you can't get parts to fix Breville products locally. When I contacted Breville about the issue, I was told that I could pay them $500 and ship the machine back to them for repair (on my dime). They'd repair it, return it to me and provide a six month warranty. Yeah, I got a laugh out of warranty – real vote of confidence in their work. In any event, I decided to try the Phillips as a low-cost option and have really been pleased. Definitely an interesting compare and contrast with the Breville unit (which I do not recommend). The Phillips machine does have a few quirks, and there are a couple of changes to the unit I'd love to see. For example, the water supply is limited and therefore requires frequent refills. Similarly, the drip tray is fairly small and fills up pretty quickly. Also, the machine occasionally displays a warning that the drip tray needs dumping when, in fact, it does not. In these instances, I pull the tray out and wait for the warning to switch to the 'no tray alert' warning and then reinsert the tray. This said, the Phillips unit is easy to clean and maintain, and it's relatively small and light. All in all, I highly recommend this product.

Title: Good Stay-at-Home Alternative to Coffee Shops
Review: My wife and I bought this machine about 2 years ago, and it has held up nicely over time. It’s proven to be a simple, reliable alternative to going out to buy coffees and lattes from coffee shops, which is perfect since we work from home pretty much all the time. We’ve got 3 adults in our house and on average drink 5-6 total cups per day, and we so far haven’t run into any major problems. One issue I had at first was that the coffee wasn’t as strong as I was used to (I tend to like it pretty strong), but it’s still good coffee. You can make drinks stronger by adjusting how fine the grounds are with a little knob in the bean compartment at top, but I didn’t start messing with this until very recently. You can only adjust in small increments while the grinder is active to avoid damaging it.This machine is good for guests who want to make and customize their own individual drinks, though there is a small learning curve for first-time users. Once they know how to use it, they often comment how cool it is, and some have said they’d like to get one too (if it weren’t so expensive).Maintenance is fairly simple: You have to change the water filter every few months, rinse the easily removable “brew group” every week or two, and apply grease to it every couple months. The only problem I had was reinstalling the brew group for the first time (there’s a little yellow switch on the side that needs to be in the right position). There was also one time we didn’t change the water filter while the replacement light was flashing (it gave us plenty of notice; we just procrastinated too much), so we had to buy a special descaling fluid to clean it out before we could use it again.Yes, the machine can get loud, but I haven’t met a coffee grinder or latte maker that was quiet. This machine’s noise level seems pretty standard to me.There are a few little tricks to using and maintaining the machine so that you can get the most out of it, but so do most machines like this. Overall, I’d say it’s very easy to use and makes good drinks. The price is a bit high, and you also have to consider the added costs of buying whole-bean coffee and replacement water filters. But convenience like this often comes at a price, right? I would say it was worth it for us.

Title: Do not buy this!
Review: Please look at the other one star reviews. You may get lucky and have no issues, but if you are the unfortunate one, here is what you get to work with for resolution.1) they will never replace or refund you.2) customer service is outsourced with English not being the primary language and all communication is scripted.3) No management or higher ups to assist. My husband bought this for me in February of this year 2024. After 2 months, the grinder stopped work, would do a whistling noise and not grind the coffee. I spoke to support and they requested I send it in for a repair. Note they give you a label, you have to go through fedex and they do not provide you with insurance, so if anything happens in transit, you’re liable. 30 days later I got it back, it was not fixed and did the exact same thing.I called and again they stated my only option is to send it again and they would send it to a new warehouse to see if they do better.. I added a note this time for the technician stating the grinder needs to be replaced. I just got it back two days ago. Today the grinder did the same whistling issue. I am at a complete loss.So I have a $700 machine with no resolution, my only option is using the pre-ground coffee option which is not why I got this machine. I got two months of actual functionality…I’ll leave you with this: Philips is not BBB accredited. Please save yourself this sad ending!

Review: We "retired" an older Saeco Molito unit. We immediately noticed much better coffee and especially lattes. Cup sizing is great, machine selection is intuitive and easy to operate. This machine is using 1/2 of the coffee as compared to the older unit. Milk frothing is also much easier, and a breeze to clean. Highly recommend this unit.

Review: if you are considering this machine, I would like to share some of my experiences with you, pre-owner and new buyer. You might knew those tricks if you’ve read the manual. my Little Summary of “Press and hold for 3 seconds” with the following buttons under “Power Off” are able to change some hidden feature settings …. suits EP3241/54 1) Aroma = Water Hardness Soft1>Hard4. 2) Quantity = Water Temperature Low>default>High. 3) Aqua = Activate Aqua-Filter. 4) Calc = Auto-off timer 15/30*/60/180mins. 5) Espresso = Restore factory setting. 6) Coffee = On/off panel Beep Sound. this LatteGo automatic espresso machine is super easy to make cappuccino under 3 mins from power On. and Super easy to clean up too. It’s make noise but not really loud enough to wake anybody in the morning. It’s gave me really fast, tasty and creamy espresso as always. if you knew how to use “Bypass” feature … “Press and hold 3’s ” on the “Pre-ground/Aroma” to bypass the grinder on Latte Macchiato can easily get “Hot Milk only” and same way to get “Foam Milk only” on Cappuccino. so far, for the past 5 months I just have to refill coffee beans and fill up the water tank at the Front side when it’s empty. Do “Maintains it” just take a minute to drain the drip tray and empty the bin after every use, and also took about 5-10mins to rinse the brew unit weekly. Wait 5 seconds to “Reset the built-in counter” when took out the Drip tray under Power On as always. Otherwise it’s will keep LED remind you to empty the bin after every 8-10 shots. The coffee spout is adjustable to fit most travel mug not taller than 16cm which is big plus to me. And all beverages are able to program it’s own quantity size from 50-250ml but at least larger than the default size. all details is on the manual. be cautious with the Aqua-filters, it’s needs to be fully filled water and lets bobbles completely out before installation, otherwise you may get trouble with the water intake cause by the air block.and the running cost, according to the manual that Aqua-Filter needs to be replace every 3 months or every 95L of water ( >1,000 cups), It’s means I need to replace Aqua-filters x4 per year. That’s about 25cents per day for Filters and each shot of the 10g coffee beans cost about10-20cents. Total is just Less than $2 per day for me to make 6-8 shots espresso daily. (I like Melitta and Lavazza beans both not oily) Lastly, For the past 5 months I did once filter change already and did descaling once just follow with the Philips you-tube instructions step by step easily. the machine still works very great.

Review: Took a long time looking at replacing my dead (12 years) DeLongi Magnifica machine while still using a 20+ years old SEACO (still works like new) expresso machine! Getting lasy in the morning so wanted an All-in-one solution.... Must admit this unit perform as expected but holds a few annoying features... 1-) Grit removal is based on # of cups poured and not driven by a sensor... So, as I normally clean it after every use (4-6 cups), unit trigger the CLEAN light afetr about 10 cups no matter what so.... annoying after 1-2 cups...2-) Also use much more water than my previous DeLongi as it seem to clean up the brewing unit with a fair amount of water after every brew. So waste platter is filling up quite fast!3-) Also bought several replacement filters but not too sure IL keep using these as these are triggering the thank "empty" switch while 2 inches of water still in the tank... Also got this "Clean" blue light coming up for no apparent reason and again using 1 cup of water to turn it off! Will try figuring out what is this feature! Besides, so far looking good for the price! Will comment later while figuring out all the features!4-) Would have preferred a unit pouring the milk as a last operation but not sure about other brands!!!!

Review: Filled the tank to water top, plugged it, turned it on, but the machine does not recognize that there is water.Called support. Guided me to reset the machine, but the error persisted. They are going to send a new tank.I will wait for that and see how it goes.Right now there is a high chance that it will go back to where it came from...I was looking fwd to this toy 🤷‍♂️0 out of 5 stars. I will revise review later.‐--------------------------------------------Two days later I received "the parts" - the wrong parts, I should say. Still a useless paper weight, chances of it going back continue to increase.‐--------------------------------------------Update - I was checking the one star reviews; sadly, it seems that the problem I am experiencing is quite common on this machine: "no water" when the water tank is actually full. Not very happy with this whole thing.‐--------------------------------------------I got the tank, but the machine still does not recogize that the tank is in and that it is full of water. The only way to get the machine to recognize the tank is to jam it hard when putting it in. Sometimes I brew a cappuccino and, when I want to get another one, the machine does not recognize the tank. Whaaat? It just finished brewing a coffee two minutes ago!Family members find the coffee to be on the cold side, even when the temperature is set to high. Also, I am worried that in the near future the water tank will not be recognized at all.Based on all the above, she's going back. I wanted this machine to work; it did not.‐--------------------------------------------I returned this machine; it obviously had a sensor problem, not a tank problem. But I bought another one, and it works fine.
