Title: Yes the battery sucks
Review: The battery is definitely not good and it took me 3 charges to do my 90 ft of edge but it was also the first time I did it this year and it was working harder than needed.now it has no problem with the crappy battery and can finish in one go.It’s plastic made with I believe really thin layer of metal rods. The blade and motor can handle rough jobs with a larger batter but a free battery works for me.

Title: Works well, but not robust enough for heaving edging!
Review: I purchased this instead of a heavy duty gas edger. It works well, but only if you have edged often. I hadn't edged in a long time, and it took a lot of work to get the job done... and the battery did NOT last long at all. I had extra batteries because they are common to Craftsman power tools... so I got most of the work done over time with extra time allowed to recharge all of my batteries. The supplied 2.0 AH battery was wayyyyyy too small, and only allowed enough power to do about 10 feet of edging before I had to recharge. A 4.0 AH battery goes quite a bit further. Once I had the edging done and cleaned up, it worked much better the next time around, and only took me 3 batteries to do my entire walk/driveway/streetside. Overall a great edger and worth the price... just don't count on it if you have heavy edging or haven't edged in a long time!

Title: Works like a charm!
Review: We're very happy with our Craftsman Max Edger! We needed a power edger because the front edge of our lawn is raised and a regular weed-wacker doesn't do it justice. We prefer a nice, clean, professional look for our front lawn as it says a lot about our home as well. I was thinking about a gas powered edger but my wife found this one which is more cost friendly and we tried it out on our lawn. WOW! What a professional difference!!! Now the front edge of our lawn looks like a pro did it! It's easy to use and not too heavy either. We're very happy with our Craftsman Max Edger and we highly recommend it as you don't have to spend the extra dollars on a gas powered edger and you don't have to endure gas fumes when using it as it's electric and very strong!

Title: Terrible Battery Life
Review: Bought this to trim my sidewalk. I fully charged the battery before starting. When it is spinning it does an okay job. On the way to my sidewalk I decided to trim a 50 foot section of my driveway. Did okay. Got to the sidewalk and the battery was fully drained after 10 feet!!!!! Fully charged the battery AGAIN and it only did another 50 feet of Sidewalk.. Charged the Battery AGAIN and did another 50 feet. Still have 40 feet to go. I have other battery operated tools like Drills, Impact Wrench, Circular Saw. They run forever compared to this thing that literally give 10 minutes before becoming fully drained. And no, its not just the battery that came with the tool. I bought two more and get the same result.

Title: Works great-eats batteries!
Review: Need lots of batteries to do all my edging. To be fair, Have 160 feet both sides of sidewalk, 2 sides of 30 foot drive, and 250 feet of curbing. Since I have almost all Craftsman 20v tools, I do have plenty of batteries. And also several chargers, so, if you are well heeled, so to speak, this may be your next toy, er, tool!

Title: Cuts very well but Battery is horrible
Review: The edger itself operates well, cuts well, and is pretty light weight. But the battery last a grand total of 5 literal min. I live on a 1/4 acre lot and it died 5 min in. — it just seems like craftsman’s wants to cut corners and cost however they can and not included the proper/needed battery for this product.

Title: I imagine it's awesome for small yards. But...
Review: I'm not bashing the product. It works as intended. And it works well. My only complaint is the limits of battery technology. Otherwise the product is fine. One battery will get me through about 40 maybe 50 feet before the battery dies. Essentially, I'm going through 3 batteries. And only getting just under 2/3 of the job done before I have to recharge them all. I ended up having to go buy more batteries to ensure I didn't have spend the day charging batteries to finish the job.My suggestion is to go ICE for lawn mowers and edgers if you have a large yard. This would work fine for smaller yards with minimal edging requirements. Even so, considering the lifespan of batteries. And how fast their charge capacity diminishes over time with excessive use and heat. And yeah, they get really hot. Just shy of burn you hot. Which adds to their degradation in addition to the recharge life-cycle. I'll probably switch over to a ICE version next year. Because that's a lot of e-waste sticking with battery lawn care. Especially considering the other lawn equipment I have that uses those same batteries.I'd honestly give it a 5 star. Save the battery issue I'm facing.

Customers say

Customers like the functionality, ease of assembly, and weight of the string trimmer. They mention it gets the job done well, is simple to put together and use, and is lightweight. However, some customers have reported that the battery doesn't last as long as they thought it should. Opinions differ on value for money, durability, and cut quality.
