I don't want to loosen the soil directly around the edging other wise the weight of the rock makes it want to flip over. This saw tooth edge should work perfectly for cutting through any grass roots, without loosening the soil, for easier installation of the edging.

Title: Not too shabby
Review: I knocked it down a star because it could have a wider handle, better sized hardware, and better aligned holes. That being said, nothing was missing, it was easy to assemble (don't forget to put the foam on before assembly), and works pretty well. I put some loctite on the threads in the hopes it keeps the nuts from backing off. I had to use my mallet to get the lower two screws through the holes because of misalignment, but otherwise everything went together easily. Once built it's pretty sturdy and does a good job. I think for what it lacks it makes up in the cost, being cheaper than the name brands you'll find in big box stores.

Title: Metal not strong enough for the task
Review: I do not like giving bad reviews but I don’t have a choice with this one. M I couldn’t believe, just the first step into the kick plate and the entire blade bent. Completely useless. It wasn’t the softest soil i was trying to cut but no reason for it to bend that easily under my 175lbs body weight. Really should be 0 stars based on its usefulness.

Title: Holes didn’t line up.
Review: This was a bummer. The quality of the material is ok, but the second set of screw holes didn’t line up. I had to use zip ties to secure the handle together. It still works, but it’s not secure. Also, this tool is nice if you have soft soil, I would run into rocks and have to reposition the spade. There are better options out there.

Title: Works Well but Not for Tall People
Review: I'm 6'-4" and found that this tool does the job advertised but is really made for people a little shorter, and I found that my back started bothering me a little after a couple hours of using this tool. We have a double-wide driveway and front sidewalk going up to the front door, as well as the entire stretch of the roadway in front of the house so it took me a couple hours to edge the yard, but when I was done, it was gorgeous. I'd say anyone under 6 foot won't have the same issue as I did with the handle being a little on the shorter side requiring me to bend over more.

Title: Handlers not durable
Review: The synthetic handgrips won’t last long with sweaty hands and heavy use — it’s definitely a different feel than one with a 1” or so wooden handle — strong enough for intended use of edging or trenching around your house — serrations on digging edge short enough they won’t bend — the handle is in two sections that connect to the blade and are attached with screws — the nuts are not capped so there is a potential of catching your hand or clothing — the screws were very difficult to get into the holes — one of the nuts stripped out — probably made of soft metal — there is a longer pad to put on the pole over the screws but probably won’t last long enough to be much protection — I only knocked off one star because it is as advertised and will do what it is intended to do
