Title: A great value for some great movies
Review: I got this four-movie used DVD mainly for The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. What a great movie. The comedy, the songs, the plot. Who doesn't love Dolly Parton? You can't go wrong with that movie, for pure high quality entertainment. It's based on a true story, too! I've had good luck with used DVDs from Amazon, and this was no exception. That movie ran perfectly. The DVD has no scratches or marks, so I expect the other movies on the DVD will be likewise free of flaws. I recommend.

Title: Best Little Example of a film needing a remake
Review: I will only focus on "The Best Little Whorehouse". This film was a hit in 1982. In 2003 it looks cheap and tacky like a 1970's green-shag carpeted home.I don't think the writer-director of this film (Colin Higgins) got a firm grasp on the material. The film caters to "Burt Reynolds" and makes him the focus of the story.The play however was much better and Colin Higgins seem to of ignored what worked with the play.It has been over 30 years since this film was released. A remake should be done. I am hoping that maybe if its not done for a theatrical release then HBO or SHOWTIME will step up. If they film is made right you can count on the awards coming in..The House of "Girls" could be cast with well known singers.

Review: Watching the four of these movies was a real boost. I haven't seen any of them since the eighties and it was a real treat to watch all of them again.Take my word for it, you can't go wrong picking up this DVD. It's a bit dated, but when you you go back through time that's what you get.Burt Reynolds is his usual sexy, goofy, self and it's hard to believe he's gone. He brightened up a lot of film screens and he and Sally Field were a great couple and in his autobiography he said he should have never let her get away.Fried Green Tomatoes is a bit different but it's a love story too between two young women who are best friends trying to face the hard realities of life in the South, in the early thirties.Sissy Spacek won a best actress Oscar for her performance in The Coal Miner's Daughter. Well deserved. Playing Lorretta Lynn from just before she was 14 til her 40s plus doing her own singing. You really got to see how Lorretta Lynn started out and how her husband helped and hindered her.All 4 of these movies are worth it on their own but having them all together is well worth the money.
