Sparks fly when Miss Straight Arrow meets Sergeant Sexy but neither can avoid the flame. An emotional second-chance novel from the RITA® Award winning author of Bad Blood!

Matt Simmons is not used to asking for help and after being injured overseas, he is over Army doctors poking him. But when his sister pushes him to try a new physical therapist, he gives in just to get some peace. He won’t qualify for the Special Forces unless he does something drastic. Like calling in a favor from the girl he used to play hide-and-go-seek with.

Penny Lewis is finally putting down roots after a lifetime of moving around. She bought a house and has a great career as a physical therapist to elite athletes. She finally has the settled suburban life she has always longed for. All she needs is the perfect guy, which means NO military men.

When Matt realizes that his old babysitter is h-o-t, he’s suddenly seeing the benefits of therapy. But Penny still sees him as the bratty kid she used to babysit.

Suddenly he has a new mission in life…

WARNING:This book contains an elderly lothario, a heroine who’s not afraid to get in your face, and the kind of therapy that med school doesn’t teach.

This is a full-length, stand-alone novel. No cliffhangers, no cheating & HEA guaranteed!

Title: Wow! What an amazing book!
Review: This book had me hooked right from the first page, and it didn't let up until the very last word. This book has angst, humor, sexy times, and love. What more could you ask for? I really like Penny, her character was strong enough not to put up with anyones crap. She knew what she wanted in life, and she went for it. My heart went out to Matt and all he'd been put through, but I loved that he still had the ability to make jokes, or at least keep his emotions hidden from his friends and family. Not that thats a good thing, but when you're somewhere trying to support your friends, it's not a good thing to bring them all down with you, either.Thankfully, Penny was able to see right through him, just as he did her. These two were a match from heaven. I liked this book so much, that I just went back and ordered this whole series.I would highly recommend this book, and this series to everyone!

Title: Pretty good
Review: I always like a hot military man, so of course I instantly loved Matt! Having his childhood babysitter as his potential love interest was a unique storyline. At least she hadn't changed his diapers! That would have been a bit odd. I think I found only one editorial issue, which was refreshing! One thing I found not believable was when Georgia took Matt around the PT office and was telling him the other patients' stories. Isn't that a HIPPA violation?I haven't read any of the other books in this series but was able to follow the storyline fine. I was a bit confused with Mara and Trent and why she wasn't excited when he proposed with a ring. I thought there were a couple of unnecessary tangents with Kay and Elliott as well. Could be a storyline from previous books that I didn't read, or setting up for future books. All in all, a good read and I would read more in this series.

Title: Amazing job intertwinging into the prior books in the series
Review: If you have read the prior books of the Alexander series you are familiar with Matt. He is the loving brother to Mara, best friend's with Nick, Jackson and Trent and the strong, rugged military man on leave from the army. He is a tormented, injured military man who needs to go to physical therapy for his arm, in order to get back the career he has always dreamed of and what he feels defines him as a man. At the same time, he must also face the demons that are haunting his dreams leaving him to be angry and withdrawn from those who love him.Mara, Matt's sister discovered their old babysitter Penny is a rising star in the medical field and a miracle worker to those in her care. So what does any loving sister do...of course meddle and arrange an appointment behind his back.Penny may be a hero to those she rehabilitates, however she hides behind that career to protect herself. She was a military kid, moving place to place leaving little room for her to trust or get close to anyone. Despite Matt's sarcasm and anger, Penny feels drawn to Matt. He slowly gets her to face those insecurities, while facing his own.Despite the mini blurb intro about not being some love story.. it is. Trust me my heart sank when I first read that. It's just not your typical one as it does address the emotions and demons some military men face from being in action. It is a touching love story, with a crazy action scene ending. AND let's not forget you get to hear more about the character's of the other books including the birth of Nick and Raina's baby. The author also prepares you for the next book in the series which is about Elliott and Kaylee. The author has done an amazing job intertwining the books and characters. Even though the stories are not all action you are so drawn into the character's lives that you want to hear about what is going on with each of them. What started out as a casual read is now a series I eagerly await the next book for.

Title: Good third book in a series but not so good as a stand-alone
Review: I picked up this book because it was free at the time and I thought the guy on the cover was really cute. When I realized it is the third book in a series, I was a little reluctant, since I have not read the previous two books. But I decided to give it a try and read it anyway. The book is about Matt, a soldier who is having problems with his shoulder after being wounded in battle. He wants to re-qualify for the military, so at his twin sister's insistence, he goes to see a highly regarded physical therapist, Penny. Coincidentally, Penny used to babysit for Matt and sister Mara when they were younger. The premise sounded like it had alot of promise. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. I thought there might be at least a little of a side story in the fact that Penny was obviously older than Matt since she had babysat for him - how much of an age difference is never stated. In fact, nothing about it is ever stated except a brief mention of it. It's basically a non-issue so I'm not really sure why the author even put it in there in the first place. I never really felt the chemistry between Matt and Penny, until it got close to the end. And there were a number of times when they were getting together with other characters from "The Alexanders" series, and I had a really hard time figuring out who was who and how they all related to each other. (I thought about how all these people were also new to Penny, and she'd be trying to figure them all out too, so we were in the same boat. That helped a little, but not much.)I think I would have enjoyed this book more if I had read the series from the beginning, and got to know everybody little by little, instead of having them all thrown in on me at once. Although there are no cliffhangers, it didn't seem to work as well as it could have as a stand-alone. For those who have been following "The Alexanders" from the beginning, you will probably really enjoy this book. Otherwise, it just didn't do a whole lot for me.

Review: I'd been impatiently waiting for this to be released having read all the previous books in the series. I've liked Matt right from "Teasing Trent" so I was glad to finally read his book. I probably enjoyed Nick and Raina's book more as that was a little more firey, but that's just their relationship - this is still a fab read featuring two great main characters as well as all the other regulars who we get updates on. My only disappointment is that I've finished it already! Looking forward to "Christmas with The Alexanders" in November but super excited for Eli's story early next year which promises to be a cracker!

Review: Often we read a story and can practically "smell" what will happen next, and yet this story surprised me in a few places. Characters who are flawed, and still find their way in life, stand for what they want and live according to their values. I love a guy who is man enough to be honest... with himself and others... and who thinks his duty is to protect the woman he loves. I enjoyed the story, I will read more from this author.
