Title: Beautiful design choices, fun to look at, and full of detailed insights!
Review: This is a fascinating journey into the creation of this standout 1970s movie. Not much seems to be written about this film in this way before, and this is a great way to start. It's got a hefty size, which is nice, and it breaks down all the aspects of the film – the writing, the cast, and the whole production scene, etc. All is interspersed by beautifully reproduced production stills. Towards the end, you're also treated to some intriguing legacy art from various contemporary artists that adds a nice touch. One standout feature is the array of behind-the-scenes pics that really give you a peek into the creative process and team behind it. Also, they throw in some never-before-seen shots, like script sections and production sketches, which is a great bonus for fans. If you're itching for more after the read, there's a handy list at the end with more book, audio, and video recommendations to explore. The design is on point, not just in the layout of the pages and content itself but also in the choices of graphics on, and in the covers and first pages. It's more than just a book; it's got a good vibe.My only gripe would be that it’s a tad pricey for it's content size. However, what you do get is well worth having. So, if you're a fan of "The Wicker Man" or just love the behind-the-scenes magic of pre-digital era movies, this book is a worthwhile addition. It strikes a balance between being an enjoyable, detailed feast for the eyes and a comprehensive look into the making of a cinematic classic. Definitely reccomended

Title: Gorgeous book and informative, too
Review: Far too many coffee table-sized books amount to little more than eye candy, but this is not the case with Walsh’s look at one of the greatest horror films of all time. While the book itself is beautiful, oversized and loaded with many never seen before photos, the text is also highly informative, even for long time fans. Walsh looks at the 1966 novel RITUAL and it’s sequel, and how it influenced what would become THE WICKER MAN, there are in-depth profiles on the film’s main stars, as well as the extras and background players. Fans of the film’s music are in for a treat, too. There are surprises in nearly every chapter. If you love Robin Hardy’s masterpiece, you’ll surely be revisiting this book again and again, and interested newcomers are given all they need to know on this tasty silver platter.

Title: The Wicker Man Book
Review: The movie, "The Wicker Man," is a favorite of mine. (It is interesting to note the parallel between this and "Midsommar.") That said, this book is quite interesting, tracking developments and setbacks; the original inspiration for the film; the modern Pagan life and philosophy. Tons of images. Very enjoyable.

Review: The Wicker Man is easily my favourite film of all time and I’ve read a lot of material around it over the years. I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect but as with all John Walsh’s books on film, I inew it would offer a gorgeous presentation of archive material at the very least. It certainly does that! The book is huge- an oversized hardback with beautiful print quality that gives plenty of space to artwork and allows fine detail to be seen. The textured cover is a nice touch too.But this is more than that; it’s a wealth of interviews, film and social history and actually offers a lot of information I wasn’t previously aware of. The artwork section at the back collates theatrical material from all over the globe, covering originap and rerelease chirashi from Japan through to the woodcarving art used on Imprint’s bluray set (with the sequel companion art too). There’s too much to cover in a single review but this has massively exceeded expectations in so many ways and I’m looking forward to delving in to it all in more detail.

Title:
Review: John Walsh’s superb and majestic homage to ‘The Wicker Man’ is replete with fascinating essays on the film, exclusive photographs and illustrations, informative charts detailing differences between film-versions and stunning posters. Additionally, the author zeroes in with uncanny precision on gaps in previous appreciations of the movie and also points out the myths that have accumulated about its creation. Walsh is an expert in film and foregrounds reasons for this cult work’s continued success, drawing the evidence of different experts and exclusive interviews with actors and the original film-team. This large-scale book is beautifully-produced with a blazing orange and brown cover, embossed and stippled for wicker effect; it is a must-have for any fans and scholars of this classic cult film. Thoroughly recommended!

Review: This is a beautifully produced book on the making of what has become a classic film, the oversized book has a wealth of information and interviews along with both colour and b&w production photos throughout, some of which I have not seen before, it tells in detail the battles had both during the film production and also the issues in its initial release, an interesting read for both fans of the film and for those interested in film production

Review: John Walsh has done it again! The Wicker Man: The Official Story of the Film is another fascinating publication filled with in depth interviews, historical detail and fabulous high-resolution photographs and illustrations. The book is another intriguing insight into film history. The chapter on Anthony Shaffer is engrossing with an insight into the script creation as well as snippets from the original screen play. But that is not all, there is much more to interest any film buff. It is with great anticipation that I look forward to the next release from John Walsh!
