A lesson in chemistry…

Back in college, Mia Hayes had a secret crush on fellow student Daniel Keegan, who was an obnoxious stuffed shirt. But she fantasized about turning Mr. Uptight into Mr. Hot Sex. Now Mia owns a successful event-planning business, and at a bachelor party she's organized, she runs into Mr. Uptight himself. And she's determined to show overly serious college professor Daniel how to loosen up a little…

Imagine Mia's surprise when she learns that Daniel has a deliciously wicked side—one that makes her knees weak with lust. It turns out Daniel is a whole lot more than she ever dreamed. But tempting the professor might have been the riskiest thing Mia has ever done. Because in their case, opposites don't just attract…they combust.

Title: Nice!
Review: 4 1/2 STARS!A sexy case of an opposites attract reunion! The characters are fun and draw you into the story from the start. Lots of steamy sexual chemistry with a side of sweetness as they bring out the best in each other and learn how to co-mingle without sticking their foot in their mouth!College professor Daniel Keegan can’t believe his luck when he runs into his old college nemesis at a friend’s bachelor party. She’s sexier than he even remembered, and he can’t resist eyeing the goods and flirting …Mia Hayes isn’t surprised that good old stuffed shirt Daniel is a boring professor, but she is shocked to learn that he has a naughty side! Who knew that once you worked out the uptight kinks in his demeanor, a sexy, fun guy lived beneath!Their time together is a blast, but there are a few speed bumps in the road as his straight-laced life attempts to intermingle with her wild and carefree one. Opposites might attract, but can they last forever??

Title: A sexy, well-written and entertaining read
Review: I read this novel in one sitting, something I love about Blaze romances, and since it's the first novel I've read by Tanya Michaels, it was a great introduction to her writing style, which is easy, breezy, sassy, sexy and fun.We first meet Daniel, a college professor, at the bachelor party being held for his close friend and fellow professor, Eli. At first, he seems rather aloof, not being party animal, but he soon spots one of the drunken revelers, Eli's cousin, Terrence, someone Eli warned him to keep an eye on because he tends to behave badly when drunk. As he does so, he notices Terrence approaching and putting his hands on a dark-haired waitress who reminds him of someone he used to fantasize about a decade earlier when they shared a college class, Mia Hayes.Mia is now a successful event planner and entrepreneur. She's filling in for one of her sick waitresses at the bachelor party when Terrence hits on her, and although she gives him a snarky response (I love snark!), he doesn't seem to get the message and Daniel intervenes, dragging him outside and roughly putting him in a cab. When Daniel returns to the party, Mia approaches to thank him and finds herself as physically attracted to him as she ever was, although she too kept her lusty thoughts to herself while they both butted heads in college, Mia being a strong, outspoken young woman, and Daniel being a buttoned-up, condescending, judgmental stuffed shirt. When he remarks on her waitress job, her hackles rise, and she begins a flirty remark that ends with her telling him he hasn't changed a bit. She spends the rest of party avoiding him. When Eli thanks Daniel for ousting Terrence, he mentions that he and Mia knew each in college, and is shocked to learn that she's not a waitress, but owns her own company. Eli passes along her business card, and Daniel, whose phone call she missed, soon shows up at her office and offers to take her to dinner, a dinner which ends with a seriously hot kiss in the parking lot and another misunderstanding as they're interrupted by the security guard. This is a fun, spicy, second (and even third) chance at romance novel, and I couldn't put it down. The characters are well-drawn and my feelings for each of them changed and grew as the novel and their relationship progressed. I was more than pleased to note that the author gave us actual character development, something I generally find lacking in far too many series romance novels because too much time is usually spent on sex scenes. There are plenty of them in this novel as well, and they were certainly hot, but kudos to the author who at no time allowed them to adversely affect our getting to know, like and understand these characters, and hope for their happily ever after ending. All in all, this was a darn good read, one of the better Blaze romances, and one I thoroughly enjoyed and am happy to recommend.

Review: There’s nothing quite like a light and lusty Blaze to start off the new year and that’s what you get with this book.Mia and Daniel knew each other in college. Knew each other and didn’t particularly like each other except for that inconvenient lust for each other that they both kept hidden.Fast forward 10 years and each is successful in their field, each has grown up and moved on - except that pesky lust is still right there. From that you have the perfect opening for what is a very sexy tale about two people rediscovering each other, and themselves, on their way to their happily ever after.I wasn't sure if I’d like Mia at first, if I’m honest. Anyone described as brash, opinionated and mouthy is always going to start on the back foot with me. Luckily, she was written really well and while there were times when I wanted to scream at her to shut her mouth, she was a realistic character and realised her faults, apologising when necessary.Daniel on the other hand, I loved from the start. A slightly geeky, straight-laced professor who hides a wickedly naughty side that seems to only come out when around Mia. I especially liked that the author didn’t make Daniel change - he was still the same guy at heart just a little wilder than even he realised. There was plenty of sex in the story as well as sexy times. These were hot and well written; lovely for these cold winter nights. I didn’t get bored or skip even a single word - as can sometimes happen with stories like this.Overall this was a fun, well-written and sexy story that I would recommend to fans of Blaze stories. Really enjoyed it. 4 stars.
