Title: "Compiled by Sammy Davis Jr."
Review: Compiled by the man himself...for us die-hard fans this is a must have collection! The reason this collection is so special is because it gives us some great insight into the songs/recordings that remained the favorites in Sammy's mind over the years, which makes this essential.My only complaint would be that I would not fully recommend this for the new-comers. It does include a vast majority of his hits (Mr. Bojangles is not included), but its got some more obscure stuff sprinkled in that may not be as "ear catching"...mostly some late 60s/70s tracks.But if you're already a fan, this is a great collection to own! Even if simply for the novelty that Sammy compiled these tracks.The remastering work is absolutely excellent, the CD sounds wonderful. And for us collector's it provides some deeper cuts, most noticeably the until-this-CD-unreleased "All the Good Things In Life".In addition, Sammy himself provided a set of liner notes for the CD, nothing too ground breaking but its wonderful to see what he has to say about his song choices.All in all, while I wouldn't recommend this to a newbie, it is regardless a terrific collection with almost all of his biggest hits and some obscure/deep cuts. Review: hi, years ago i had a cassette of sammy davis jr greatest hits vol 1 & not relizing the cd would be different from the cassette ,as i only had the pic of the cassette to go by ,& was so excited to discover the cd ,but soon found out it was not the same songs from the cassette,i would love to get a cd with the same songs from the cassette if possible? thank you carmen

Review: This is a truly great collection. If you're the least bit interested in Sammy Davis Jr., then this is the collection to buy. It's true that there quite a few great songs that don't appear here but this is the place to start. It's no mistake that this is such a fantastic album since all of the songs were hand picked by the man himself.
