Title: There are better options out there with better support.
Review: I've been purchasing Master Massage products for most of my wife's career as a licensed massage therapist. Over time, the quality of the products seems to have slipped in an apparent effort by Master to save money on manufacturing. Once a month, my wife spends an afternoon at a local company providing around ten 15-minute sessions. Since purchasing this chair in September of last year (2023), she has used this chair on 3 occasions and was no longer able to use it due to a broken support pin for the front legs. After contacting Master regarding this issue and the safety hazard it presents, they requested that I submit multiple photos and videos via email to further prove the issue existed. This process was further complicated by Master's email rejecting the nearly every email I sent with an attachment. This pin is a spring-loaded push pin that apparently cannot be replaced if it does break. This pin is responsible for holding the front legs in place and prevent them from folding under when the chair is in use. Keeping in mind that this chair is said to support up to 600lbs, the fact this pin broke at all is concerning. The way the pin operates, it is also not possible to use another pin as a replacement. When providing a chair massage. the person is sitting down, facing the front of the chair, while the massage therapist applies pressure to the person's back area. We have tested this prior to her attempting to use it on others and found the legs are able to fold under while someone is seated, which would cause the person physical harm. After having communicated this to Master Massage customer service, they claimed they were unwilling / unable to only replace the pin or the leg, and it would be necessary for me to mail the entire chair to California for repair or replacement at my expense.To summarize, after 12 hours of light usage, a small metal pin responsible for holding the front legs in place, sheered and has left the chair in an unusable condition without posing serious physical risk to the person receiving in the chair. Master Massage's solution is to have us pay for the shipping of a $500 massage chair to California to remedy a locking pin that likely cost them less than $1. Until this is done, my wife will not have use of the chair, which she needs for her job.In addition to the Safety Risk this chair now poses, the case this chair comes with is a joke. The bag itself is not supported well a the bottom, and the wheels are not large enough to keep the bottom of the bag from dragging on the ground when being used. The front edge fabric of the back is now entirely gone, and the inside plastic shell shows through. In addition, the chair needs to be oriented in the bag in a very specific way, which is not documented anywhere on the bag, nor is there any extra padding inside the bag to help support and protect the chair while in the bag. Instead, I've purchased a small collapsable hand cart for my wife to strap the chair to.With that being said, I will no longer be trusting the quality, service, or support of Master Massage, and I will be looking at other options when purchasing items for my wife's Massage Practice, going forward.
