Title: Sticky (and stinky) right out of the package
Review: This is one of two high-quality yoga mats that people seem to recommend both here and on other sites. I initially purchased the other one after learning that it was very durable and guaranteed for life, but found it to be quite slippery. That has not been a problem with the Jade Harmony Professional yoga mat.The surface of this mat almost reminds me of a cat's tongue. It feels somewhat rough, especially if you drag a bare elbow or knee across it, but it has excellent grip right from the start. The grip can make sliding transitions from one pose to another more difficult to execute smoothly, but I really do not mind this because of the confidence that I have in Downward Dog, where I feel rock solid with no slipping. I'm six feet tall, and opted for the 74-inch version which gives me plenty of room from head to toe when lying on the mat. I also love the midnight blue color.The rough surface is also more difficult to clean, which you'll need to do more frequently because of its stickiness. The natural rubber also does a fine job of holding a static charge, which makes it prone to attracting whatever is loose on the floor. The mat has a very strong rubber smell, which I'm told goes away over time. It's also not good to leave the mat in direct sunlight, because that can cause the natural rubber to break down. This mat does not come with a lifetime guarantee like the other mat that I purchased, so if I stick with it I will need to plan on buying a new one after a year or two.This mat strikes a good balance between thickness, weight, and portability. It seems like it will be a good mat for use both at home, and when I head to a class. While definitely not as cushy as the other mat that I tried, I'm perfectly happy with it so far. It's definitely a big improvement over the yoga mats that you'll find at a typical big-box store.I may keep the other mat that I bought to give it more time to break in, but based on my initial reaction I can already tell that this one will probably be my favorite. I also think it's great that the manufacturer plants a tree for every mat they sell. We need more of those 🙂

Title: Very sticky (in a good way).
Review: My old Jade Harmony mat was starting to show its age. I've been using it regularly for about 6 or 7 years. It's still serviceable, but having been left in a hot car on many occasions, it's starting to look its age.The new mat is even more 'sticky' than the old one. I don't know if this is because it is new and not worn or if Jade has changed the mat material. It's hard to imagine ever losing traction on this mat, even if it ended up sodden-wet.In comparison, I also have a Manduka Pro mat. It's a beast—thick, heavy, and indestructible—but it's slick and slippery even if my hands or feet are barely damp. I only use it when I'm foam rolling at home. Feels like owning a Ferrari and only driving it a mile to and from the local supermarket.

Title: good despite the smell
Review: this mat works great for me. it's not super squishy and it has enough texture that it feels grippy. i don't sweat a whole lot and i don't do hot yoga so i can't speak to its' functionality in that context. it does have a strong rubber smell that has only now diminished enough for me to smell other smells again in my room. although who knows whether i've just gotten nose blind to it... fortunately i kinda liked the smell anyway.it's heavier than other mats of comparable thickness, but it barely creases and it doesn't try to roll up on its own.

Title: Excellent grip, not too spongey, seems durable
Review: I purchased this mat based off an article I read recently reviewing several mats. I wasn't crazy about the price of a piece of rubber matting, but after spending $20 on a mat that immediately started shredding bits of "rubber" (or whatever the material was) I figured you get what you pay for. This has not disappointed me so far. It has amazing grip...almost too much grip. For hot yoga I've used a towel over it so I can't speak for how grippy it is once it gets wet. I like the thickness and firmness of the rubber. It seems like it will last. So far, so good! Definitely earns 4.5 stars. Oh, the strong rubbery smell that others mention does fade over time, even without having to washed it. Just leave the mat out unrolled when not using. I have learned to like the smell a bit.

Title: Finally a mat that doesn't slip!
Review: I had a Manduka Pro and can't count how many things I did to get to not be slippery. I finally gave up and ordered this. Problem solved! What a fantastic mat 🙂 It is sticky in a very good way with good cushioning. I donated the Manduka.

Review: For me, it is worth the expense. This is the best yoga mat I've ever set foot on and I use it daily. I don't slip, even when I'm sweaty and this is the extra long one so when I shavasana, I don't hang off.

Review: Venía de una de esas esterillas con miles de positivos, baratunas. Esto es otra historia y la experiencia corporal cambia radicalmente. No es solo el agarre, que es excelente, sino que amortiguando bastante no te hace hundirte y tus sensaciones en cada postura son más naturales y te sientes más seguro. Por otro lado tras casi un año de uso diario de unos 30 minutos y siendo bastante lego en el yoga, está intacta. la baratuna, que yo pensaba que era muy buena, tras 4 meses estaba deteriorándose.respeto al olor, nada especialmente llamativo y se fue en pocos días. Pesa quizás para transportarla a sitios, dependiendo de la persona. Vale cada euro, sin duda y dudo que me salga de esta marca a no ser que se meteorice en los próximos meses

Review: Ok Let me tell you, i researched and trieds HUNDREDS of yoga mats (lifeforme, cork, lulu etc etc ) before setlling on this one. I am a yoga teacher and it was important that it was sustainable and very grippy , while also looking so classy.Jade does all that and more! I look forward to practicing on it all the time and everyone is always asking where it is from. It looks natural in green , is the perfect thickness to protect your knees and offers the best grip even when my palms are sweaty. My down dog doesn't move a cm and is so comfy in savasana!The smell fades and it stands the test of time beautifully. It is a natural material so i use both sides to give one side a break and make sure it doesn't get worn out in one spot only.Note- There is some wear & fading after years of use (in the palms area mostly) but this is normal as it isn't plastic and i would rather a bit of wear than plasticy mats. I will replace it every 6 or so years if needed and Jade will recycle them for you. I only wish Jade would spondor me as they are pricey 😉 but will gladly buy them haha!

Review: I've been using this yoga mat extensively ( three times advance level vinyasa a week, 4.5 hours) for one and a halve year now and I'm very satisfied with it. I don't slip at all during my flows and postures, it's a very stable mat. It start to show a little bit of wear at some spots but it's not hindering me at all.
