Reads USB Drives and SD Cards

Title: Great for travel!
Review: We got the 1080p version because we planned to hook this up to our 32” trailer tv. We’ve become a custom to streaming our movies and we wanted to avoid bringing discs with us. This thing works great. It’s super simple to use and it’s so compact. The picture quality looks good and the sound is good too. We haven’t had any issues with it so far. There are just two things I’d like to point out.This version is compatible with usb and sd cards. I chose this because I figured it gave me even more options since I could always use a sd to micro sd converter. This is true, but as I foundthe sd card does not fit flushly into the device, it sticks out. I should have figured because this is how sd cards typically work, but I’d forgotten this.Second, in our trailer while using this device the audio doesn’t play through the surround sound. This is unfortunate, but expected.

Title: Great For Compact Travel
Review: I was a little skeptical about how easy this unit would be to use and if it would actually play my movies.After many hours of mlvoe watching and scrolling, it was well worth the money. I was using my laptop to play movies from my 2 TB hard drive and it just took up so much room so I tried this little unit. Works great!Very user friendly, plug in your hard drive and HDMI cord and go!Power cord is very flimsy feeling so kinda need to protect that a bit.Lots of settings to change to your liking. And the little controller it comes with is very comfortable to use.Takes about 30 seconds for the unit to load up then another 30 seconds to load all 988 movies from my hard drive.The only downfall is instead of a computer where you can scroll through a lot of movies quickly, on this unit you actually have to scroll down a list which can take a while but I might be missing a search function.Overall worth the money for some space saving.

Title: A good video player for the money
Review: The NEUMI is a good, inexpensive machine. It works as well as others we've hooked up to our wall TV. Also, it plays some files that our former video player did not. Like 265 codecs. One thing I don't get about the player, and the reason i didn't give it five stars, is that very often it will not see subtitles that are in the folders with the video files. I can't discern any pattern to this, another aggravation. You'd think it would recognize all SRT files that are recognized on internal video players my MAC uses. Still, it's generally a reliable player at a good price. Image quality and sound reproduction are up to current standards. There's just that subtitle issue.

Title: Good little device that does what it's supposed to!
Review: We ripped much of our music CDs to an external hard drive and also stored our music videos on it. We were surprised to learn we could connect the hard drive to our Sony Blu-Ray/dvd player with a USB cable and play these files over our TV. However we have more than one TV and didn't want to move the dvd player back and forth. With a quick search we learned there was such a thing as a media player. We bought the NEUMI device because it was the cheapest on Amazon at the time and it had good reviews. We plugged it in (hard drive to NEUMI by USB, NEUMI to TV by HDMI) and ta-da! it worked. It actually recognized the hard drive with less fuss than the dvd player does. The picture and sound quality are, as far as I can tell, the same (although the small TV is a limiting factor for the sound). The remote is pretty easy to use and has positive "feel" to it - no delay or need to press more than once. We play .flac, .mp3 and even .wav audio files and .mp4 video files and have had no problems (some of the video files are over 2 Gb in size.) We use a 4 TB Western Digital external hard drive also with no problems. One criticism is the NEUMI usually doesn't show the metadata (artist, song title, album) for the music files although there is a place for it on the screen--it does show the file name which is usually the song title. The Sony dvd player does show the metadata for the same files. Also, sometimes it is hard to navigate backwards without going past the screen you want. All in all, it's a good little device than does what we want it to. I'd say 4 and a half stars but I'm rounding up to 5. (If it starts having problems or stops working, I'll update my review.) We're in the process of downsizing and we think that with a decent sound bar we won't bother with a separate stereo system.

Title: Now I can watch my photos and videos on big 4K TV
Review: I have a large collection of videos and photos. However, watching them on small computer screen doesn't do the justice. This player enables me to show the striking photos and videos on a large 4K TV. So the entire family can enjoy them. Very good!

Title: Really great accessory for a non “smart” tv
Review: I received this last week and just decided to give it a try today. It took less than 10 minutes to set up and start using. Right now I have a 128gb usb flash drive inserted. The menu is easy to navigate, the playback picture and sound are great, and it is a nice upgrade for my older LCD flatscreen tv. I bought 2 and I will order 2 more. I definitely recommend this if you want to update your older tv rather invest in a new “smart” one. I will review again after I try out my 1TB sd card.

Title: Re-purpose old TV / monitor as a Photo Frame
Review: This has been a reliable video source for driving a TV or monitor, displaying photos in a slide show like a "photo frame". It's a good use for old (slow / small) USB drives or SD cards, and an excellent re-purpose of an old-but-good monitor. We tried it on various models and it worked fine on all.Since this device consumes very low power, we just let it operate continuously; meanwhile we turn the TV/monitor on/off by timer or motion sensor. The Atom 4K Lite just keeps running the slide show, with no glitches at all.The device offers much more flexibility for the slide show mode than a smart TV, especially for the timing. Overall it seems to be well thought out by the programmers, and a mature design based on Android. The image quality appears excellent, after all photos were down-sized to the UHD native resolution by Adobe Lightroom and exported as sRGB. Playing videos with 2-channel audio also worked perfectly.We had a couple of questions initially, and the support response was fast and totally helpful.Ordering more!

Review: Hatte mich für dieses Gerät entschieden da es nach Beschreibung alle gängigen Formate wiedergibt. An sich Kein schlechtes Gerät, leicht einzurichten und die Menüführung selbsterklärend.Das Problem ist nur das es kein einziges USB Gerät größer als 64 gb erkennt. Egal ob Stick oder Festplatte, egal wie es formatiert ist. Ein Stick mit 32 gb läuft super. Meine sämtlichen Festplatten, auch neuester Generation werden nicht erkannt, nicht mal eine SSD !!!Keine Ahnung wie die positiven Rezessionen zustande kommen. Das Ding ist Schrott, Finger weg davon.
