Title: Great balance of quality and affordability for the average home user.
Review: When I was younger my wife used to cut my hair. Now I get my haircut at the barber shop to save her the work. But with COVID-19 in full effect, I found myself once again leaning on my wife. My current unit has a quick release blade to allow for better cleaning after use. While cleaning the unit with the blade removed, I knocked the blade by accident and it fell to the floor. The drop was counter height (about 3 feet), and the plastic clip that attaches the blade to the handheld unit broke off.Knowing I would most likely need another cut in 4-5 weeks, I began my search for a replacement. I looked locally at the big box stores first only to find that I was not alone in needing personal grooming equipment. With experience from my last mishap, one of my requirements was to be that the clips need to be metal. This narrowed my options greatly. Online search brought up mainly professional grade clippers for business use, and attached with them were professional grade prices.After a quick check online with the Membership Warehouses, I happened upon a combo set of Clipper and Beard trimmer by Wahl that fit the bill. It was on sale for forty bucks! Two days after placing my order, I was informed that they were sold out. Knowing that Wahl makes clippers with metal clips, I began my research with Wahl products and settled on this one.Don't get me wrong, everyone was still sold out everywhere, but I began a weekly search in case inventory was replenished. Amazon was the first to post availability. It was a pre-order with stock expected in mid-May, but it was good enough for me. I placed my order immediately. Good thing too, I checked my order that same evening and the pre-sale was sold out.There isn't much to clippers, pretty much blades and a motor. So my focus will be mainly on these two things. This clipper was used 3 times since it arrived and my wife is pretty impressed with it. It's got a good weight to it at about 1 lb and the motor isn't too loud. For the blades, this set claims to have self sharpening blades made of stainless steel! 3 uses and still no tearing out my hair, so no complaints from me. As for the motor, it's powerful enough to move the blades quickly enough to not pull at my hairs. I think it's worth mentioning here that my hair is considered thick and coarse. As I mentioned before, the motor is relatively quiet, and while the unit does heat up, it doesn't get too hot.The other good thing about this set is that it's backed by a 5 year warranty.On the downside, there isn't much to say right now. After 3 uses, nothing went wrong. And with a 5 year manufacturers warranty, I don't expect many issues to come. The guide combs range from 1.5mm (No. 1.5) to 1 inch (No. 8), and they all have metal clips. If I had to nit-pick at some improvements, I'd say that the blade cover could be of better design. I found it difficult to put on after cleaning it. Oh and the cleaning brush, it would have been nice if they provided a larger one in addition to the small detailed brush.Overall, I'm very happy with the purchase. The unit performs well and doesn't break the bank. It's a great balance of quality and affordability for the average home user.

Title: Excellent product for the home barber!
Review: Excellent product. Guards are excellent and sturdy. Clippers are the same. You either go Whal, Oster or Andis. Nowadays, Babyliss clippers are popular as well. I chose Whal based on reputation, the price, and it’s contents. You get an array of guards, a cape, a comb, oil and a storage container. These blades cut all lengths of hair well. I oil the blades before and after each use.

Title: High Performance Clippers Pay for Themselves
Review: I have owned quite a few clippers in the 18 years I’ve been married. My husband has always preferred to have his hair cut at home and when we had boys, they preferred home haircuts as well. The boys have really thick hair and our last clippers just weren’t working very well without pulling. We decided to look for a really good pair of clippers figuring they would pay for themselves by not having to go to the barber. Plus, working well would make haircuts a little less of a hassle. After a lot of research, we went with the Wahl Elite Pro Haircutting Kit.I have to say that this really is a quality set and that is evident from the starting from the case. The case is a thick, sturdy plastic with a really nice latch on it that works so well. The clipper is very heavyweight but easy to grip even through three haircuts in one day. It’s definitely much quieter than the models we have previously chosen, so that was a bonus. Also, I can still feel my hands after cutting the boys’ hair, so the vibration isn’t too intense either. The clipper has a very long cord, so I can have the boys stand in the bathtub to catch the hair while I cut their hair and there is still room to move around.One of my boys has really thick hair, one has what I’ve been told is beaded hair and it’s very silky feeling, and my husband has thinner, soft hair. This cuts all three hair types without any problems at all.I’ve had this for a while now and I’d say it’s quite durable as it is still running just like the day I received it. The blades are still sharp and the guide combs still clip securely. The guide combs are a heavy plastic and they lock securely to the clippers when you are using them. The clips are stainless steel, so you can be sure they will last. The guide combs have the sizes embossed into the plastic as well as on the stainless steel clips, so you know exactly what size you are using each time. With three different people wanting three different lengths, that is a life saver for me. No more guess work from ink rubbing off and leaving me without guard sizes.The scissors that come with the set are high quality and come in a case. They are a rounded tip, so that makes me feel a lot safer about using them to clip any stray hairs around my boys’ ears. The set also comes with a very nice apron so you can contain the mess mostly. It also has a hair comb with both fine teeth and bigger ones.The entire set is a 21 Piece kit which includes: the premium clipper, clipper blade guard, premium storage case, guide combs: Numbers 1/2, 1, 1 1/2-3/16, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, large styling comb, blade oil, cleaning brush, stainless steel scissors, scissors blade cover, large nylon signature barbers cape, cord wrap, guide comb storage bag, and full color English and Spanish instructions and styling guide.This product is made in the USA and is made for use in USA electrical outlets only.Everyone in my family loves this hair clipper set and I can tell you that it has definitely already paid for itself.

Title: Cuts well
Review: Although the device is a bit heavy, it has a very high quality blade, it runs strong and does a nice job with each pass. No need to go over the same area multiple times like I did with the cheap ($30) one I had.I cannot speak to the charge longevity yet.I’m keeping my cheap one for travel to do minor trims on my beard, because it’s much smaller and therefore easier to pack.
