Title: Does everything I need
Review: The Braun Series 5 is the same as the Series 6 but with an easy-clean head instead of a tilting head. It's inexpensive, light weight, comfortable in your hand, relatively quiet and shaves as close as any electric. Seven shaves dropped the battery by a third, which is pretty good. It charges in about an hour, and like all wet-or-dry rechargeables, you can't shave while charging. For trimming, you take the shaving head off and snap the trimming head on. That's a lot of bother for trimming your sideburns, but quite handy if you have a beard.Note that the shaver has two modes, Locked and Unlocked. To switch modes, press the power button for 3 seconds. The shaver arrives in Locked mode, so hold the button down 3 seconds to unlock it and turn it on. After that, a quick tap on the power button will turn it on or off. When you're packing for a trip hold the button down for 3 seconds again and the shaver will go back into Locked mode and won't accidentally turn on. This is a very useful feature, but it baffled me for over an hour!

Title: Braun is best. The best value electric razor.
Review: This thing is amazing. Braun is best. To me, this is the best value (under $100) electric razor. The best bang for your buck. I like this thing even better than my previous Panasonic Arc5 (a $150 razor, so like half the cost). It cuts amazing. I can get a skin close no-stubble shave with no irritation (with no shaving cream or anything, so just "dry shaving"). I think it's a got a great "sporty" design, I would say. It doesn't look cheap to me. A good light weight, lighter than the Arc5. A little about my shaving history for context. (I'm a male.) I would say I have a "stronger" beard, but sensitive (to cuts) skin in the beard region. To get a no-stubble shave, I would have to cut against the grain. With any manual razor (eg fusion 5, DE - double edge, or straight razor) using shaving cream, I would get irritation. I discovered in switching to electric razors, I could get rid of that, now I could get a no stubble shave without irritation using the Arc5. So if that describes you, you should start considering the electric razor. I tried a very cheap electric razor and it cut horrible. The blade on the Arc5 was getting dull after 1-2 years (starting to get irritation), so I looked at replacement heads. $77. To me that was high, so I thought let me try another razor just to see. Enter Braun 5. I like it better than the Arc5. And the Braun replacement heads seem like great values ($30-40, $30 for series 5), and not many people consider cost of replacement heads up-front. So it seems like a great deal all around. This thing is great for shaving any part of your body even if you don't shave a whole beard, for example, shaving part of a beard, outlining the beard or bottom of beard, shaving ears, quick back of neck, shaving any part of body (even though I don't do much, I just tested a small part), shaving back. A good way to describe it is strong, yet gentle. Strong to cut hair easily, yet gentle on skin. In general, just never push down too hard. If you have any harder to shave areas, just pinch the area a little bit with your fingers and gently glide over. If you get any irritation, just push less there in the future. I would probably even recommend this for girls (women/females) to consider, eg shaving legs or whatever. Like I said, to me, seemingly the best value electric razor, of everything I've tested so far.

Title: Maybe not for "date night" ?
Review: I personally like the shaver. Some users complain that it doesn't shave close enough.I guess that depends on your expectations. I have been shaving every day for more than 50 years and have used several shavers over the years. I have not seen an electric shaver that could give you a shave quite as good as doing it the old fashioned way. With that in mind I am happy with the shave with this electric shaver gives me. As I stated in the top description, without going over areas a few times you will find that it isn't quite a "Going on a date" shave. And if you have a very heavy beard, stick to the straight razor. I spend a few extra minutes to get at the hard places and I end up with a good shave that looks fine for a couple of days, ( I have a "medium" beard and I don't have a job where shiny smooth is the rule.

Title: Excellent Electric Razor in All Regards
Review: The Series 5 5018s replaces a woefully inadequate and over priced Panasonic Arc4. After having owned 7 electric razors, if come to the conclusion that Braun is hands down the best brand. The Panasonic Arc4 cost more than double the 5018s, but the charge didn't last over a week, the included cleaning/charging station was totally unnecessary and the display ended up failing prematurely as it has done on all the Panasonics I have owned. After a while, I ended up going back to my cheap Braun 3 series that I gave to my sons and let them use the Arc4.I purchased the 5018s as a lark as my 340 was very good. Blown away by the difference. The 5018s is light, ergonomic, has excellent battery life and adheres to the KISS standard - no idiot light displays to break, just 3 simple charge light dots. It also gives the best shave I've ever had - about as good as a standard multi-blade razor but with ZERO irritation. It doesn't do well with long hair, but no worse than any other electric I have used. With standard 2 or 3 day stuble, it gets everything about as close as you can get. It's also the first electric that I've owned that handles all tough angles on the neck without issue (very impressed). If I was going to point out a negative, it doesn't have a built in beard trimmer. It's a separate attachment that clips to the head. Very minor inconvenience for me since I use it infrequently.

Title: For light use in travel
Review: As an electric razor, it works OK for shaving. The trimming attachment is similar to other razors, but it's a bit inconvenient because you have to switch heads. I still use my 10-year-old 790cc as my main razor, the old 790cc is more solid and reliable, and this one is good for travel.

Title: Great Electric Shaver
Review: I bought this Braun 5 5018s shaver to replace a Norelco shaver that I have had for many years. I wanted to try a Braun. I am very pleased with the quality of shave that this shaver gives. It shaves just as close as my Norelco did despite the fact I've heard that the Braun was not rated as well. It holds a charge better and it easier to clean than the Norelco.

Review: Iâve been using the Braun Electric Shaver for a few months now, and itâs been a game-changer for my morning routine. The shave is smooth and close, much better than I expected from an electric shaver. It handles both short stubble and a few days' growth really well, and the flexible head adjusts nicely to the contours of my face. I was also impressed with how gentle it is on my skinâno irritation or razor burn, even with daily use.One feature I really appreciate is its wet and dry functionality. Iâve tried it with shaving gel and just dry, and it works great either way. The battery life is solid too; I get several shaves on a single charge, and it charges up fairly quickly when needed.Cleaning is super easy, as itâs fully washable under the tap, and the build quality feels premium and sturdy. Overall, itâs a fantastic shaver that makes the process fast and comfortable. If youâre looking for something reliable and efficient, Iâd highly recommend this one.
