Title: Excellent cookbook.
Review: These are very tasteful, and basic recipes, which do not require two shelves of ingredients. I appreciate simplicity, and good taste, which is exactly what this book provides.

Title: Beginning Mexican cooking
Review: I spent some tme looking for some simple classic Mexican recipes online and gave up. I then went to Amazon's books and saw this listed. Maybe the recipes are easy for the author, but I live in California and these were not that easy for me to understand. I am going to look for an easier book. The recipes looked good, but I was looking for a simple and good cheese enchilada.

Title: So Glad I Bought This Cookbook
Review: As a native of Arizona and someone who has traveled all over Mexico, I know something about Mexican food. I’ve always wanted to cook it at home but have been leery of most cookbooks due to them either being not authentic or way too complicated. This book is a gem! I’ve made, so far, the caldillo de res, the molletes and the frijoles charros. Each one was easy to follow the directions, with easily obtainable ingredients and turned out incredibly tasty. As far as it not having photos (as one reviewer mentioned), just google pics online. You’ll be fine. This is Mexican comfort food at its best.

Title: More than a cookbook!!!!
Review: It has been a while since I have bought a cookbook. I typically search for recipes in the internet and that’s it!!! About 5 years ago I found Adriana Martin’s website (AdrianasBestRecipes.com) and I was instantly interested in everything she published. When I saw she had published her first cookbook I knew I had to get it!Just like Adriana, I grew up near a stove. While in the kitchen, I always listened to my grandma’s stories and most of them were food related. While reading this cookbook, I felt as if I was in the kitchen with Adriana Martin or my grandmother, learning from them, listening to their stories while we peel, chop and cook. This is more than a cookbook. You will learn the history and culinary regions of Mexico and you will be amazed by everything that Mexican cuisine has to offer. You will not be disappointed with this cookbook! You will love it as much as I did!!!

Review: You would like this book if you already have the cooking utensils and spices/peppers and some experience with Mexican foods.

Title: I am a big fan
Review: I have been a fan of Adriana's blog for quite some time so I was so excited to see her write a cookbook. I love the authenticity of the stories and how each recipe ties together into pieces of her family and her own history. The extent of my Mexican style cooking has been tacos prior to finding Adriana so now I am looking forward to playing around with the different sauces and cooking styles she has presented in the book. My favorite recipe so far has been the corn cakes with beans and cheese and while that sounds so basic, the taste was anything but! So fun to learn new techniques and cook with foods I may not normally serve on my table.
