Title: Solid build with clunky app
Review: The price range of this puts it solidly up against Kitchen Aid and Ankarsrum (formerly Electrolux). For the most part the build quality does not disappoint, this GE feels built like a tank. The only disappointing part is the bowl which feels thin and cheap compared to the rest of the unit. The bowl placement mechanism will also be a source of opinion - here the bowl rests on two pins, and it can be lowered slightly when attaching it. Compared to KitchenAid where the whole head tilts up or the Ankarsrum where it is the bowl that spins with the attachments being stationary, this GE easily has the worst bowl mechanism, I almost always have to remove the whisk/dough hook before removing the bowl when I have things in the bowl.Since the bowl is mounted the way it is, it enables functions like the built-in scale - I'm not quite convinced this is more than a gimmick, but perhaps there are cases where it can be of use. I always measure out my ingredients before a big bake, it would be pretty rare for me to need to weigh anything as it is being mixed. The electronic motor control is great, startup is silk smooth, there's plenty of torque available, and since there's no mechanical speed switch there's no opening for flour and dirt to get inside. Now, I figure a big selling point for this is the app - unfortunately it could be a lot better. Gripe number one if that you need to create an online account to do anything, and you need to provide a lot of personal info to even be able to register and connect to wifi. Speaking of wifi, the connection process was pretty flaky for me, the wizard deals poorly with modern mesh systems where you have multiple radios on the same SSID, they show up separately with no real way of knowing which one you're picking. My first connection attempt ended up in a never-ending wait with no timeout or error message. After restarting the machine and the app the next attempt worked as expected. Now the app itself is not particularly easy to navigate, the main screen has a tab for recipes, but the ones related to this mixer that make use of the Auto-Sense function (supposedly the machine can sense changes in torque to determine when ingredients are sufficiently mixed) are not visible in that tab - you have to enable the mixer for remote connection, tap on the unit in the app and then the "special" recipes show up. This special functionality is only available through the app. My mother's Electrolux assistant works exactly the same as it did when she got it 40 years ago, does anybody want to take bets on whether the app/firmware for this will be supported 10 years from now?As it stands it is a solidly built mixer let down by its current software - fortunately it can be improved, but I'm not sure I'll bother with the app going forward.

Title: Wow, heavy duty, but pricey
Review: This is a heavy duty mixer. Itâs very similar to a kitchenaid with the addition of being a âsmartâ item. Itâs really heavy, heavier than my other mixer as well as tall too. If you have lower sitting top cabinets it may not fit and youâll have to find another place to store this. The mixer functions very well and mixes nicely. The added function of having it not overmix is actually really handy when making certain recipes like a meringue. Itâs pretty powerful too and can be set pretty high. I donât think Iâve ever had to use the highest setting really, I stick to 5-6âhighest maybe 7-8. Itâs about as loud as Iâd expect a mixer to be. Itâs still good and not bothersome. Honestly you spend time in the kitchen with a bunch of kids running around, you enjoy the bit of noise. The smart settings are pretty cool, but honestly Iâm not one to use it very often. Itâs a preference, but I can say itâs pretty darn cool and if you are a tech wiz as well you may really enjoy the extra smart functions of the app.The weigh scale is good, but not the best. For very precise measurements itâs not good, and youâll need to whip out your own scale for those. I like the added scale because it can come in handy, just not for smaller precise measurements. The price point is what could make it or break it for some. Regular priced at 799 is pretty steep for most people. Itâs better to get it on a sale or prime day as it will price well alongside other mixers of its caliber. I still stand on kitchen aid mixers though, but this one is a competitor for certain.Everything is fairly simple to clean as with any other mixer and their attachments. I honestly enjoy this mixer better than I thought I would. In total Iâd give it 4.7 stars if I could!

Title: A very solid mixer
Review: When I was a kid, I loved the Carousel of Progress at Disneyland. It was a rotating theater showing an animatronic family and their dog as they experienced life-changing technology through the 1900s, like the first washing machine or electric lights. It was sponsored by GE, and had a weirdly uplifting earworm of a theme song about a "...great big beautiful tomorrow, shining at the end of every day."That's why I hum that theme every time I use this GE Profile mixer. I feel like the promised GE future has finally arrived! It's an amazing piece of technology and I had fun to experimenting with the app recipes and features. It even taught me a lesson when learned that I'd been over-beating my egg whites forever, after it made the best meringue of my life. Eventually I tired of playing around with the app, and realized that what remains is a very solid, heavy duty stand mixer that can handle just about anything I throw at it.The only thing I wish I'd known before ordering is that it would need a permanent spot on my counter, since it's too heavy for me to move easily. Other than that, it's a fantastic addition to my kitchen.

Title: Hard to attach hook
Review: The mixer is powerful, no doubt, but it is very difficult to attach the hooks to the mixer. After attaching it for a few times, it became a big struggle and we have been looking for solutions. The manual does not include any instructions on troubleshooting this problem. This is very frustrating.
