Title: Who would have known? - Amazing Value
Review: EDIT: 4/8/2024 Amazon promptly sent me a new monitor. Tested with dead pixel checker and this one is good no dead pixels seen in any of the full screen single color tests. Seriously though for the cost of this monitor the features best any in this price range.EDIT found a line of dead pixels and had to exchange....I literally purchased this by accident.Even tried to cancel the order once I realized my mistake. Amazon is so fast with the shipping process it was too late.I had it in my mind I was going to go to Microcenter local and pick up a monitor and just return this one. But honestly the specs for the price of the monitor compared to what I saw on the MC website just directed me to give this guy a try.I am so pleasantly surprised. I paid < $300 for this monitor. BRIGHT/Great Contrast levels, blacks look great, FAST... I have a 3080 Ti GPU that is well fast enough for 21:9 2K res. My main game is Helldivers 2 right now and it is BUTTER.The stand is nice and at this price point normally you are not getting "height" adjustment but it has it. The monitor has very basic minimalist appearance and the "branding" logo of KTC is barely noticable and not gaudy like some other lower cost brands. So far I plan on keeping this. Title: KTC H34S18S is kind of good, but also kind of lousy.
Review: [Initial Impression]Overall it looks like a generic screen you'd draw if someone asked you to draw a computer monitor. It's fine, it fits in any set-up. The KTC logo, which might be an ornithopter?, is simply tampographed, instead of being laser engraved or a raised badge, adding to the overall generic vibe.[Setup]Physical setup is easy, the monitor even has a magnetic panel in back for cable management.A VESA mount (100mmx100mm) can be used, but the back is gonna look uglier than using the stand. Also, not all wall mounts may work right away. For example I'm using the popular VIVO desk mount and the VESA plate doesn't lay flat to the screen because of two protruding pegs from the monitor. It still works fine if you use long enough screws though.[Using the Monitor]The screen looks okay and didn't require color calibration out of the box. However, you have to be in a "sweet spot" distance from the screen to see rich color across the whole screen, otherwise the center looks good but the sides will be desaturated. The 1500R curve is nice for games and movies, but for editing photos and 3D modeling I prefer the 27-inch flatscreen I was using before this (ASUS VG27AQL1A), simply because there's no curved effect to worry about. The screen is so big it can display like 25% more chili dogs at once! And this is where I get irritated.(No, not about the chilidogs!)The 1ms response time that is so prominently advertised is a best-case-scenario type of thing. It can only be achieved by using the MPRT function. KTC confirmed the actual response time is 5ms with MPRT turned off. That 5ms isn't advertised anywhere at all. This isn't a scummy tactic exclusive to KTC though, they're only following the lead of every other manufacturer out there, including ASUS, who did the same thing with that monitor I mentioned before (I think the GTG response time on that is actually 4ms).Why can't these companies just be honest? If this were happening in Europe, I feel like the Consumer Protection Assault Squad they have over there would be bashing down their doors right now to politely ask them to stop the misleading advertising.Ok, anyway, so just turn on MPRT, right? Wrong. Turning on MPRT reduces the brightness dramatically, making the screen look ugly and washed out, even in a dark room.Same goes for any claims of amazing HDR settings, it's bunk. Turning on HDR makes everything ugly. The screen simply doesn't get bright enough to make HDR usable.Remember to tweak Gamma though, it can help make the blacks darker.I have the monitor connected to a laptop, with these settings:Laptop: ASUS ROG G15 STRIX AMD Advantage EditionGPU: AMD RX 6800MConnection: USB-C from laptop to Display Port on the monitorResolution: 3440x1440Refresh Rate: 144HzColor Bit Depth: 10bit165Hz is available, but causes color bit depth to drop down to 8bit. Though honestly I don't know if that 10bit is real or actually 8bit anyway.---The H34S18S is my first ultrawide monitor, and I was wondering why there aren't any reviews for it. Now I know it's because there are better options out there. It was $250 on NewEgg recently, and at that price it's a maybe, but at the Amazon price of $330 plus tax it's a definite NO.I'm burned out from researching monitors. All that work and info dumping and I still fell for the response time hustle, I'm disappointed in everyone all around.I ended up keeping the monitor because KTC refunded to match the NewEgg price, I can live with that.

Title: Do not buy this trash
Review: Just bought it yesterday and had problems trying to display my pc but eventually worked. Today and turn it on and no longer picks up a signal of my pc or my ps5 . I did already have another monitor to test if it wat my pc but no , my other monitor shows a screen. DO NOT BUY THIS TRASH and buy something with a good name brand even if you have to save a little more cash

Title: height adjustment
Review: height adjustment 90mm [+- 5mm ] or 3.54 inch [+- just a bit under 1/5″, a little over 3/16″ inch ] - if your looking for a monitor with greater height adjustment than 3/16 of a inch this one is not for you. All most like there is no height adjustment.
