For millions of women in America, sex isn’t always pleasurable or even possible. Instead, sex has become a low priority as they navigate marriage, motherhood, and work . . . not to mention cope with chronic stress and lack of sleep. Throw in the natural fluctuations in hormone levels that all women experience throughout their lives and it’s not surprising that sex can become, well, a little less sexy. Additionally, common gynecological problems can make sex uncomfortable, and medical issues can cause it to be downright painful.
Dr. Lauren Streicher, a leading women’s sexual health expert, offers women the courage, vocabulary, and knowledge to identify and solve problems in the bedroom, for a wide range of issues—from flagging libido, vaginal dryness, and sex after menopause, to hormone supplements and the effects of medication, Sex Rx offers a wealth of knowledge, along with a good dose of humor and plenty of encouragement, so that every woman, no matter what personal challenges she has, can make having great sex a part of their lives forever.
Sex Rx was originally published in hardcover as Love Sex Again.

Title: Never Think You Know it All About Your Own Body !
Review: One of the most amazingly informative books written by a doctor that was not to technical, actually easy to read and sometimes humorous. Because we are all humans this book is one for all women, young and old, and share it with your men , and yasssss this author includes issues for the LBGT community. You have a question or a problem , she has an answer or a place to send you to find one. After all, life is much happier with a bit of sexiness in your step and if you listen to this Doc you can be happy until you die ! Donât believe me, read the book. She also says you live longer with sex in your life ! I Throughly enjoyed this book and learned so much. It is not the end of the world at menopause , after cancer, or hip surgery, or even the dreaded dry season of old age or times when both men and women have low libido. If you want to feel that happy glow again, we now have sexual physical therapists too! I cannot speak highly enough about the professional aspects of the books subject matter and also the regard for sincere regard in the authorâs writing. Do not fear knowing more about your own body. You only get one and you should live life to its fullest !

Title: Fellow Primary Care Docs- GREAT RESOURCE for your Patients!
Review: Primary care providers should buy this book, READ it, and then PUT A COPY IN EVERY EXAM ROOM! As a family physician, I love this book because it is an excellent resource to help me help my patients with decreased libido, dyspareunia, or other vaginal and sexual difficulties- regardless of the cause. Dr. Streicher clearly and specifically addresses not only menopausal issues, but numerous special challenges related to medical conditions such as cancer, diabetes, and heart disease. Dr. Streicher uses evidence-based medicine to support her recommendations, giving us the confidence to treat our patients how many of us choose to treat ourselves. She explains the WHI (Women's Health Initiative) in basic terms that allow us to debunk estrogen-fearing myths more effectively, reinforcing what we all know- that "estrogen is not poison". Dr. Streicher has mastered the balance between medical language and lay terms, blended together with her witty humor. She tells it like it is, including addressing the fact that no pill will fix decreased libido or lousy sex when the real problem is the relationship itself. This book is not a casual read for a teenager wondering about sex (though they could potentially learn a ton). Sex RX is the perfect book, however, for the educated women in your practice (and your friend group) who want to understand how their sexual body parts and hormones work (or don't work), and what options they have to improve their "SexAbility."

Title: A Must Have
Review: This is a must have and must read book. I wished I had read earlier in my life, but I'm glad I read it regardless of when. I've already purchased the replens vaginal moisturizer and I love it! I was so thrilled to learn that the vaginal ruggae returned with the use of estrace, I worried so much about dryness during intercourse. I will be sharing the contents of this book with my female friends and insist they buy and read it because it is so informative and an easy read in spite of its medical jargon. I'd also recommend my friends share or purchase the ebook (or hard copy with the different title) for their daughters and sons. This is a must read for men as well!

Title: Women's Health Needs the Wit and Wisdom Of Lauren Streicher!
Review: There is no field more burdened with information - and misinformation - than women's health. At a cultural time when issues such as birth control, abortion, reproductive care and hormonal changes have become political footballs and topics of heated debate rather than health and medical concerns that should be as considered and supported by the medical industry as men's ED treatments, a doctor with the smarts, humor, and compassion of Dr. Lauren Streicher is a much needed breath of fresh, informative, air.It may be hard to understand how, in the year 2014, the issues that impact women's sexuality as they grow older are still topics to cringe over, blush about, even ignore in lieu of making positive changes, but it's clear Dr. Streicher is out to change all that. I've seen her speak on the topic and her energy, her candor, her willingness to take on any topic and shine the light on whatever needs shinin', regardless of how intimate, how personal, or even - for some women - how embarrassing, is nothing if not bracing! She knows when to inject humor, when to get serious and methodical, when to give details and when to acknowledge that many woman still need some hand-holding when it comes to owning their sexuality and getting proactive about how to make it better... for them and their partners. And who doesn't want that? All I know is, if I lived in Chicago I'd want Dr. Streicher to be my gynecologist!

Title: Use magnifying glasses!
Review: My rating may be unfair, I just started reading the book. So far the content is great. I am reading the paperback version. Why print a book that is geared for older women, in small print, on off-white paper with light print? A good number of people interested in the book can't read the content even in good light and wearing glasses! Either increase the font or the print contrast PLEASE! I don't need the additional frustration...so to speak.

Title: Described as including a section on "sex after menopause" but does not
Review: I can't find any mention of post-menopause or "sex after menopause" in the index. Yet that is mentioned in the 2 paragraph description of the book.Bummer.

Review: I like this author and I bought her book. Great informations about premenopause, menopause and hormones. However, she heavily advocates the use of synthetic and horse conjugated estrogen which are both not identical to our natural estrogen.Good read and she has light sense of humour.I recommend it.

Review: I really liked the way the book highlighted which chapters to read for your own personal dilemmas, hence the book covers all problems but allows you to focus only on your own. I find the author to be very knowledgeable and she seems to be able to grasp the problems at root. I like the way that she is matter of fact and understanding - extremely good information, if this is the first time like me, that a woman actually acknowledges that her sex life needs education at the age of 50, and that its not all over. My new man is now reading the same chapters and is very communicative to me about the possibilities which the book has exposed to us and the solutions we can find together in a very healthy way.I feel as though we have been to sessions with a doctor, mediator and sexologist for free .................do read it ladies, it can only do you good !
