Title: inventive, varied, and satisfying muffins
Review: Having already made forty of these recipes, I'm well on my way to cooking through the entire collection, which I've decided to attempt this year based on how much fun it's been coming this far. I do a lot of cooking and baking, and this collection of recipes has given more consistently solid results than I've found in most cookbooks. So far there's been one recipe I didn't particularly care for and second one I'd call a non-disastrous flop, but the remaining thirty eight recipes have all been delicious and well worth repeating, with a good handful yielding muffins definitely among the best I've ever had. I love that there are satisfying versions of the classics as well as creative offerings inspired by various global cuisines, yet the ingredients are all relatively cheap and easy to come by, and many recipes can be made entirely of ingredients already on hand in any decently stocked pantry. I think this would make as excellent a gift for a new cook as for a seasoned baker. The great thing about muffins is that they come together and bake up so quickly that even people who are very busy and or lack the confidence that comes with years of experience in the kitchen can find the time to bake up something really delicious and eminently shareable- to send to school in a kid's lunchbox, to bring to a sick friend, share at a potluck, or donate to a local charity bake sale. These recipes easily defy the idea that vegan foods need be spartan or 'less-than' in any way. What you get are just wonderful baked treats everyone will love, regardless of whether they otherwise abstain from eggs and/or dairy or do not. Highly recommended.

Title: Amazing muffins my kids love!
Review: I have been vegan for over 10 years and have a huge collection of cookbooks. I love baking and have become pretty picky about what makes a good vegan muffin. I also have 3 small children who provide really honest feedback. This book is excellent. Most of the recipes use yogurt. I wasn't excited about yogurt in my baked goods before this book, but Saulsbury has made a convert out of me. My kids love the muffins. They especially love the banana muffins and the NY coffee cake. She has a mixture of savory and sweet muffins which is nice. I like how the book is organized. The directions are clear and simple. Most recipes I've been able to make in about 15 minutes not including baking time.

Title: Great Vegan Muffin Cookbook!!
Review: Great book. Recipes are easy to follow and the ones that I have tried were delicious. It is so much less expensive to make your own vegan muffins and to know the ingredients that actually go into them!! A definite thumbs up!!!

Title: Nice for new ideas, but needs updating
Review: I love making muffins but was running out of new flavors.I read through the book and it has wonderful ideas! From sweet to savory. The big negative for the recipes is almost all contain vegan yogurt, which I don’t keep on hand or even have access too in my small town. And they use no other binder, but with prior baking knowledge I knew how to remedy this.I replaced the yogurt with Bobs Red Mill vegan egg replacer powder. And 1/4 extra liquid. Cut back the baking powder because the egg replacer contains baking powder. And used 1 tsp vinegar in the non-dairy milk of called for. This will help it rise without getting too bitter.Works beautifully!Doesn’t hesitate to get it for new ideas, but I wouldn’t use this as a starter book.

Review: This book was published in 2012, therefore I couldn't find it new, but only used. I am happy anyway. There is a good variety of vegan muffin recipes for all tastes. There are a few photos, but just in the centre of the book and only for a couple of recipes.I am happy with my purchase and can't wait to start baking!

Title:
Review: There are some really nice muffin recipes in this book (I've baked several) and for the most part you can't tell they're vegan even (nicely moist, excellent texture, good flavour) BUT this book relies heavily on vegan yogurt for the majority of the recipes. Not all vegans (myself included) have access to vegan yogurt so it would be nice to have a book which didn't ask for it in most recipes. I can and occasionally do make my own vegan yogurt, or buy it (for a ridiculously high price) from the health food shop.I was hoping for a vegan muffin recipe book which was based on mainly pantry staples which are easily accessible by everyone. I'd buy this book again, but I'd only give it 5 stars if the yogurt wasn't in so many recipes OR if the author offered some substitution ideas for it.
