From the #1 bestselling author of The Thursday Murder Club Series
A brand new mystery. An iconic new detective duo. And a thrilling new murder to solve . . .
Steve Wheeler is enjoying retired life. He still does the odd bit of investigation work, but he prefers his familiar routines: the pub quiz, his favorite bench, his cat waiting for him at home. His days of adventure are over. Adrenaline is daughter-in-law Amy’s job now.
Amy Wheeler thinks adrenaline is good for the soul. Working in private security, every day is dangerous. She’s currently on a remote island protecting mega-bestselling author Rosie D’Antonio, until a dead body and a bag of money mean trouble in paradise. So she sends an SOS to the only person she trusts . . .
As a thrilling race around the world begins, can Amy and Steve outrun and outsmart a killer?
Solving murders. It’s a family business.

Title: Slow start to completely wowed
Review: Love, love, love Osmanâs âThursday Murder Clubâ series but was initially disappointed with this book. However knowing the talent of the writer, I persisted and ended up thoroughly enjoying this read. It has Osmanâs excellent wit and humor as well as delightful character development. The author also provides those occasional poignant moments that surprise you by piercing your heart. He made me laugh out loud and even brought tears to my eyes. Another triumph for Osman. Impressive, smart, clever, witty, playful - there arenât enough superlatives.

Title: Not as amazing as Thursday Murder Club butâ¦
Review: Thursday Murder Club is so good- love that series. This book has great characters with sharp wit and laugh out loud moments but not as endearing as the other series. However - solid mystery and will definitely continue to read more in this series!

Title: fun read and a great start to the series
Review: This book is a lot. A lot of fun, a lot of moving parts, a lot of plot, and a lot of great characters. Murders left and right and herrings of the red variety. Read it!

Title: International Mayhem and Murder
Review: Unlike the authorâs earlier series of mysteriesâThe Thursday Murder ClubâI found this book harder to get into and I found the characters less interesting because they were so two-dimensional and unrealistic. The fact that the situations they found themselves in were so implausible also detracted from my enjoyment. Nonetheless, the action was well-written and the surprise plot twists were genuinely surprising. Enjoyable but not the authorâs best.

Title: Only So-so
Review: For Richard Osman, this book is a definite comedown. I loved the Thursday Murder Club books because I could relate to the major characters. They were old, some widowed, facing the problems of old age. Thatâs what made them so interesting. These characters are so outlandish that I find it hard to engage with them at all. I am only reading this book to get to the end: I consider that a novelistic failure.

Title: Intriguing Characters Populate This Hilarious Thriller
Review: "We Solve Murders" is a hilarious thriller. If that resembles an oxymoron to you, perhaps you haven't read Richard Osman's four installments of "The Thursday Murder Club." When I learned that Osman was taking a break from one of my favorite series to write another book, at first, I was disappointed, but now I have fallen in love with his new characters and their story arcs.In "We Solve Murders," Osman created an unlikely crime-fighting threesome of Amy Wheeler, an extreme bodyguard for the rich and famous; Rosie D'Antonio, a flamboyant and rich mystery writer; and Steve Wheeler, Amy's recently widowed father-in-law and retired detective. As the action opened, a string of mysterious murders was befalling the clients of Amy's security firm. The dead were influencers on social media. Unbeknownst to them, they were also being used as mules in a high-stakes money laundering scheme. While Amy was on duty guarding Rosie, a fellow security officer attempted to kill Amy instead. That's when Amy went underground, taking advantage of Rosie's private jet and reaching out to her father-in-law for help.Osman excels in bringing to life an array of entertaining characters, whether they be heroes or villains. In this book that seemed like a spy spoof at times, the villains had funny pseudonyms, such as Joe Blow (a name that turned out to be a clue to the person's identity). Amy, Rosie, and a reluctant Steve made a magnificent team, as there was literally no one who could be trusted while they sought to identify who had ordered Amy's assassination and determine what the motive was. The very complicated plot came together nicely, with Steve's detective skills, Rosie's endless connections, and Amy's ingenuity all playing pivotal roles. Although this book was not identified as the first in a series, the ending left that a promising possibility, which I hope comes to fruition.

Review: This series promises to be just as entertaining as the last one for this author! He has an incredible way of making murder and mayhem somehow amusing and entertaining. The characters are so vividly written that I can see and hear them in my mind at first meeting. This author is truly gifted. Never a dull moment.

Review: This is the book you want for Christmas. Or to give to your friends for Christmas. A feel-good page-turner; cosy crime at its very best. Lovely characters, and the usual shots of insight into the works of the human psyche we are expecting from Richard Osman. A book full of love and fun and depth, and a great plot full of twists. Marvellous.
