Title: Not All Nail Trimmers Are Alike
Review: These trimmers are elite. I usually use the regular $10 clippers I see on amazon. They do the job and they're affordable. I was hesitant to pay double the price for some trimmers that looked sort of gimmicky. However, my dog hates nail clippings so I decided to take a risk and buy these. THEY WORK SO WELL. Here's why:1) They use a guillotine style cutter (super sharp blade). It's legitimately like cutting butter. The clipper style ones are like a scissor so the pinch your pet's nails. This can cause the nail to turn sharply before the cut, which causes pain and trauma to the dog. These clippers hold and slice the nail cleanly. You can be super precise and it's quick and painless, leading to less movement from the dog.2) They have a magnifying glass and a light. This does actually help you see the quick if the dog has white nails, but even if your dog has black nails (like mine), you can see clearly how close you're getting to the quick through the tip of the nail you just cut. The light and magnifying glass really let you get precise (especially when paired with the super sharp blade).3) The magnifying glass doubles as a nail catch. This means no more searching the floor for nail trimmings. Not essential, but definitely a cherry on top.I'm excited for my dog's nails to grow back so that I can cut them again! Seriously, this is a game changer.p.s. It's never too late to trim your dog's nails. If your dog's nails and quicks are super long, just trim every week little by little. The quicks will wear down as your dog walks and you can trim more and more over time. These trimmers make it ridiculously easy.

Title: saved nail trimming time
Review: we adopted our dog when he was 2(ish) and we've had him for four years. he either never had his nails trimmed before we adopted him or he had some serious trauma from having it done earlier in life because he absolutely would not let me or the vet techs at our vets office touch his nails. he'd rather break his arm or pull it out of the socket than let anyone touch them. his nails are black and impossible to see through, to boot. i've tried many different types of clippers, dremels, black top and concrete walks/scratching, scratchboards, etc. and nothing worked. these clippers allow me to take his paws while he's asleep and see where the quick is fast enough that i can get a couple snipped before he truly realizes what's going on. he's gotten so much better about it, it's unreal. i love that these clippers are small enough that my small hands can use them easily, i love the different light options, and i would really like the magnifying nail-catching cover, but i can't use it. it gets so dusty and scratched up from the nails that i have to flip it down. nails still go everywhere and i don't get to use the magnifying feature, but thankfully i'm not in a position where i need that. what i don't like is how bright some of the lights are because they actually do the opposite of what they're meant to - instead of helping me see, i wind up absolutely blinded. when you figure out which light setting works for you, stick with it. i have an accidental habit of clicking the light switch through all of the different options while i'm waiting for the dog to get his shhht together between paws and then i just get blinded all over again (lol).regardless, if you're on the fence about these just give them a shot. with amazon's return policies, you'll be fine. try them, if they suck return them. but i can almost promise that they won't suck.

Title: DOA
Review: I bought this model for the light & they don't work. Yes, I removed the plastic strip. Tried the switch in all settings: â
The batteries were inserted correctly, and tested OK. I'm ordering a replacement & crossing my fingers.RECEIVED THE REPLACEMENT: It also didn't work. I thought, "Gee, maybe I'm doing something wrong," so I went to the website on the box, found a phone number, & called the company. I was very polite & explained that I thought it was probably doing something wrong. At first Customer Service denied that it was their product, but then found the listing. I told him that I'd bought it from Amazon & didn't want to return it again if it was my fault. AND HE SAID, "THAT'S AMAZON'S PROBLEM" & HUNG UP ON ME!Amazon promptly refunded my money & said I didn't need to return it. With nothing to lose, I decided to tear it down & see if I could fix it. The problem was the little contact under the battery lid: it needed to be bent upward so that it contacted the metal on the cap & completed the circuit.IT GETS WORSE! As you squeeze the handles, instead of cutting the nail, the unit separates & has to be squeezed back together during the cut. See video.

Title: Another case of "nice idea, poor execution"
Review: Upon my first use, I clipped my dog's nail (big dog, 50 lbs.) and the battery compartment flew open and all the batteries spilled out. I put them all back in nicely, and upon cutting the other nails, it did the same thing again, several times. Very badly designed battery cover!! (1 star for that.) The lights on the cutter are handy, but the magnifying glass isn't much help. Just put your glasses on, you'll get better results. I'm giving it 4 stars only because it cuts nails really well.

Title: Dog nail clippers
Review: The cover does contain the clippings well, but it is very hard to see what I am cutting with the cover on. It's made to look like a magnifying glass, but it's not clear enough to use like that. Also the light is very weak and not useful at all. The base of the clipper is jagged and not sharp as I expected.Over all it gets the job done, but at almost $20 I don't feel like the quality reflects the price.

Title: best clippers EVER
Review: these are the best dog nail clippers I've ever had! Very nice quality! It has a built in light AND magnifying cover over the very sharp blades. With the cap over the blades, the tiny clippings don't fly off into the rug somewhere. The cover is also a magnifier that allows you to see the tiny nails better and the led lights make it so easy to see the quick which prevents over cutting and causing bleeding and soreness. They even pack an extra blade! The price is very affordable and I will never buy another brand. These clippers ARE AMAZING HELPFUL and SO MUCH SAFER FOR YOUR DOGS NAILS!!

Review: This initial review is based on my first attempt at these clippers. I had high hopes to use a fresh, new pair of guillotine clippers on my Frenchie, as our old clippers got dull. With that being said, the blade is VERY DULL on these. It kept snagging her nail and shredding it a bit. Our other clippers didn't do this. I had to use my dremel to file the snagged bits down afterwards :(I followed the instructions (or at least I think I did... I also watched a YouTube video) and yet, the magnifine area is impossible to see-through, so I'm confused why others say it works so well? The magnified area in the clear plastic cap is obscure and blurry and you can't actually see how much of the dogs nail is in the guillotine... which does not instill confidence in me and resulted in a bad experience for my French Bulldog who normally is okay with clippings, but not these clippers. I even tried cutting her nails with the cap flipped up. Didn't matter, blade is dull.Overall, a fail and $31.00 down the drain and can't be returned because they come packaged in a hard plastic sealed clamshell package that requires scissors to open.I will give it another go and update this review once I watch another video perhaps, but these are junk so far. The light is honestly a gimmick and didn't help much as it should light UNDER the nail and not straight-on where you're trying to work.
