This book features the NBA's statistical history, its all-time greatest teams and players, the best shooters, rebounders and playmakers. One chapter features statistical evidence that TENDEX was much more effective in rating players for the NBA draft than were the league's professional scouts. Book ends with a chart listing in order the 75 greatest players in NBA history.

Title: Great little book
Review: Great little book along with the 2022 book NBA’s 50 Greatest Basketball Players of All-Time 75th Anniversary Edition. In this book Seventy-Five by Dave Heeren, from a statistical point of view using the TENDEX formula created by the Author and historian himself who worked for the New York Knicks - Oscar Robertson, Wilt Chamberlain, LeBron James, and Michael Jordan are the four greatest players of all-time. It’s hard to refute this after reading all the statistical data in this book covering every aspect of the game. Every hardcore basketball fan should pick up a copy of these two masterpieces.

Review: Sports fans (especially hoopers, but more)! This is the best buy you can make for under $10. This is a well-written, well documented rating of the NBA's top 75 players according to the famous Tendex system. This system was the forerunner of all the analytics gurus today. Even though Dave Heeren didn't have the same tools in the 70s and 80s as he later pickup up as the electronic information and stats keeping became so broad, his ratings were always noteworthy. I have worked in the ABA/NBA from 1975 and am in my 46th year currently. I used his numbers along with others as time went on to evaluate my players as well as opponents for trade purposes. The Tendex evals have stood the test of time. The book has great anecdotal stories by a legitimate sportswriter who was close to the game from the time he had relatives who played in the early NBA. He saw all the great players play up close, something that the evaluators less than 50 years of age can claim. Agree or disagree, you will be given his reasons for his choices and non-choices. Come up with better stats if you can. You will have fun either way. Del Harris
