Title: Best litter! Clean scent. Wish it came in both sizes
Review: I have tried both the original and the multi cat version of this litter. This review is for the multi cat version. Prior to ordering, I was wondering what the difference was between the original and the multi cat. At the time of this review, the multi cat only comes in the larger size. while the larger size is priced more economically, it is definitely more cumbersome to deal with and particular to pouring out of the bag. I therefore hope that the smaller size will be offered for convenience. As for the difference, the multi cat formula has a fragrance that I would say is comparable to fresh laundry. It’s pleasant and maybe a bit too strong but not in a way that it off putting. I do scoop daily, so not sure how it would smell if waste was permitted to accumulate.Due to this litter, being paper pellets, scooping requires a different technique than traditional clay litters. I have found that the use of a plastic cup is the best way to search for the darker, swollen wet litter and poops for removal and scooping. This is the Best way to keep the litter fresh and clean for use. The bag is a decently weighted plastic so that it won’t tear.Really like that it doesn’t track much and is very low dust.

Title: Only thing I'll use, now!
Review: The only thing I'd remembered about paper litter was the negative, the fact that you can't just sift out the wet bits with a straining scoop. (tips on that to follow) But, my cat Tesla got a serious infection from clay litter compacted in a claw, and we had to switch to paper litter till it healed.I have two of their 4 litter boxes in one tiny room. The shelves and everything in there are always covered in white dust from clay litter. I clean it away and it's everywhere again in no time. The grit from clay always gets spread everywhere and scratches the floors. Not having that dust anymore is reason enough to switch to fresh news. My Asthmatic cat certainly agreesPros:With the paper litter, there's no cloud of dust in my face when I clean the boxes, and no floor grit.I don't have to worry about any more toe infections from impacted clay in claws. One 25 lb bag of paper litter is lasting me twice as long as a 30 lb bucket of clay litter.Cheaper, because it lasts longer. It's a great way to make use of recycled paper.I'm can compost it.Available in UNSCENTED! fragrances are bad for cats and perfume+poo doesn't smell any better than just poo. If you're allergic to most added fragrances (like I am) this is extra important.Since I'm allergic to soy inks the compost will only be for flowers, not veg, but that's still better than piles of clay in a land fill.Tips:The more often you scoop, the easier it is to find the used bits. Litter boxes should always be scooped daily, regardless of litter type, but doing it frequently also makes it easier to spot peed-on litter before it dries. If your cat pees only small amounts at a time, the paper can dry out before you go to scoop. If this happens, look for swollen bits. Thicker bits mean they expanded from having gotten wet.Tesla covers his tiny pee spots, so I gently scoop back top bits until I see lower bits that look a bit swollen or are coming apart. I scoop out swollen ones and some around it.My other cat, Schroedinger, has serious excess urination and doesn't cover anything. This litter can handle her buckets of pee, as the paper just swells up and soaks it up like sponges.I heavily recommend using biodegradable puppy pee pads as liners in the boxes. If a dribble gets through the gaps between paper bits, they absorbs it. Every so often I let the boxes get low. After scooping, I pour unused litter into a bag and put the liner in my paper compost, add a new liner, and dump the litter back in.Plastic absorbs odors. I used to have to empty, scrub, and soak our boxes ever so often to appease my picky cat. Paper doesn't stick to the plastic like clay, so it would be easier now even if I didn't use the liners. But with the liners, I don't usually bother. Sometimes I mist the bottom of the box with alcohol and let it dry before putting in a new liner.

Title: Dust free!!
Review: I love that this is dust free! It really works. The pellets aren’t too hard on my senior kitties’ peds. It can be a little tricky to scoop —Be prepared to change the box more frequently. At such an economical & environmentally friendly cost , it’s well worth the trouble . Also: my kitties love the royal treatment of complete litter change every couple of days. The multi cat version has a faint, fresh scent, nothing too strong or chemical-ish. Very natural. I’ll never go back to dusty pine litter. Nor the other types—and, yes, I’ve tried them all. We have three cats; a 25lb bag lasts *almost* an entire month—making the cost even less than if we bought cheap clay litter. Pine pellets lasted a *tiny* bit longer, but only by a few days. Pine dust is a known carcinogen; there’s no way I’ll keep using dusty pine litter to save a dollar or two. This Fresh News paper litter is much safer. This is the one for our cat family!

Title: Not perfect, but does the job
Review: Ever since the litter I always used got discontinued, this has been my go to. I have a ferret and a cat who used these with no issues at all. It clumps up nicely so it's pretty easy to clean and there's no allergic reaction they get from the litter so it's pretty natural. The only negative is that it doesn't negate the smell as well as I would like, but not to the point where it'll change my opinion about the brand.

Title: Good for what ails your cat's toes
Review: Bought this on recommendation from vet to get pelleted litter for my 18 yo cat who had a foot wound from an ingrown claw. The pelleted stuff won't get into the healing wound like the regular clumping clay litter will.My cat thought it was a little weird at first but now he loves it. BONUS - no litter tracking!I tried another brand that couldn't hold up to his output and the odor control was not good. This brand has great odor control. Trick is to put about a third of a 25 pound bag into the box and the odor control will work great. After cleaning out the presents your cat leaves you in the litter stir it around a bit to keep the odor control working at maximum. Oh, and the stuff is absorbant too.I think this is a healthier choice for my cat and keeping the floor around the litter box is a whole lot easier that using clumping clay litter.Recommended by a multi-cat household dad.

Title:
Review: I’ve been using the Fresh News Post Consumer Paper Pellet Cat Litter for a while now, and I’m mostly satisfied with it. First off, there’s no tracking at all, which is a huge plus. My floors have never been cleaner since switching to this litter. Also, there’s practically no smell, which is a blessing, especially in a smaller apartment. My cat took to it right away and seems to like it, which is always the most important thing. The pellets are soft enough for her paws, and she doesn’t seem to mind the change from our previous litter. However, I did notice one downside. Because this litter is organic, it seems to attract flies more easily, especially if there are already some in the area. I’ve had a few instances where flies decided to breed in the litter box, which wasn’t an issue with other types of litter I’ve used. It’s something to keep in mind if you live in a place where flies might be a problem.Overall, I’m happy with this product and would recommend it, just be aware of the potential for flies if that’s something you might have to deal with.

Review: I like this product because it has no dust unlike clay litters. I find you have to change it weekly though because you can smell the urine. I have 3 cats and 3 litter boxes a big bag lasts 1 month so a 1 cat home it would last much longer. I would recommend. Clean up is much easier

Customers say

Customers like the performance and ease of cleaning of the animal litter. They mention it works well and is easy to clean up. Some also like the dust level. However, some customers have mixed opinions on odor control, value for money, absorbency, and durability.
