#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • From the acclaimed author of The Longest Ride and The Notebook comes an emotional, powerful novel about wondering if we can change—or even make our peace with—the path we’ve taken.
“Sparks is superb at what he does. The setting is postcard perfect. The characters are immensely likable. . . . This is a tidy miracle you can count on.”—The Washington Post
Tanner Hughes was raised by his grandparents, following in his grandfather’s military footsteps to become an Army Ranger. His whole life has been spent abroad, and he is the proverbial rolling stone: happiest when off on his next adventure, zero desire to settle down. But when his grandmother passes away, her last words to him are find where you belong. She also drops a bombshell, telling him the name of the father he never knew—and where to find him.
Tanner is due at his next posting soon, but his curiosity is piqued, and he sets out for Asheboro, North Carolina, to ask around. He’s been in town less than twenty-four hours when he meets Kaitlyn Cooper, a doctor and single mom. They both feel an immediate connection; Tanner knows Kaitlyn has a story to tell, and he wants to hear it. To Kaitlyn, Tanner is mysterious, exciting—and possibly leaving in just a few weeks.
Meanwhile, nearby, eighty-three-year-old Jasper lives alone in a cabin bordering a national forest. With only his old dog, Arlo, for company, he lives quietly, haunted by a tragic accident that took place decades before. When he hears rumors that a white deer has been spotted in the forest—a creature of legend that inspired his father and grandfather—he becomes obsessed with protecting the deer from poachers.
As these characters’ fates orbit closer together, none of them is expecting a miracle . . . but that may be exactly what is about to alter their futures forever.

Title: sweet story
Review: This is a story of pain and blessing, heartbreak and love, devastating loss and great gain. I liked it! Iâve read all of Nicholas Sparks books. This was neither my favorite nor my least favorite. As always Nicholas tugs your heart strings and sometimes crushes your heart a bit. Characters were well developed. I love how he encompasses the southern traditions of faith and mystery. I particularly liked Jasper. And the ending was good.A few things I would have liked to see1. Fleshing out the story of David and Monica2. Some consequences for the Littleton boysâ¦3. A bit more time for Kaitlyn and Tanner to rekindleBut as I said I really enjoyed it⦠if you liked The Longest Ride it most reminds me of that previous work

Title: A spiritual Moving Story
Review: Nicholas Sparks is a wonderful writer and he always captures a good story. I like this book, Counting Miracles, because it referenced a lot of Bible passages and reminded me to always be thankful even during trying times.

Title: The Best Yet
Review: Nicholas Sparks never disappoints. This book was delightful, two parallel stories, each fascinating and rewarding in its own right. The characters are well developed and believable. The descriptions of the beautiful North Carolina environment are spot on. (Having spent 2 years there as a young Air Force wife, I can attest to the welcoming and gracious nature of the residents of this beautiful state.) The book came to a satisfying and logical conclusion. I eagerly await the authorâs next North Carolina adventure. I hope Nicholas Sparks never stops working his literary magic.

Review: For a Nicolas Sparks book I found it slow in the beginning but as I read further was draw to each character's personality. Loved the scripture references, and the surprise ending wow! A must read if you are a Sparks fan.
