In 1800s Texas, an innocent young woman must learn to love again after a painful betrayal . . . but the seeds of greed and desire harvest a scandal when she falls for the toughest cowhand in the west.

Betrayal ruined Banner Coleman's wedding day -- and on her wedding night she was a jilted bride. But now, her innocence and pain have touched the heart of Jake Langston, a close family friend. Grappling with emotions that surprise them both, Jake and Banner are caught up in a scandal that could shatter a friendship and a family.

But theirs isn't the only affair stirring up trouble in this rough cattle town. Twenty years ago the seeds of greed and desire were sown, and now the Texas landscape will once more reap the wild harvest of a man's hunger and a woman's enduring love.

Title: Its worth reading for sure...
Review: Okay, now this is my brief opinion of the book. I read the first "Sunset Embrace" it was really good. I must admit that I favored this book better than the first because I fell in love with Jake! Even in the first one I loved him. Now, believe it or not who I hated in this book was Banner!! Oh Lord have mercy that girl was sooooo annoying and childish! I felt like if you believe that Jake is in love with your mother so darn much then why be bothered with him?? Either accept that he loves you or move on. I hated her noisey ways about her parents past. I mean who cares? She made it such a production. We dont need to know every thing about our parents! Leave it alone! Other than her, I loved the book. Its worth your time for sure. I will admit though I hated that Ross had to die! In the first book he wasnt my favorite because of the poor way he treated Lydia but I favored him more in this book.Happy reading!

Title: An oldie
Review: This is one of Sandra Brown's older books, when she was trying her hand at more romance than thriller. This book is just ok. It isn't dated as it is a story of the old West. Its a story of murder, betrayal, and love told in Sandra Brown's recognizable way. But it doesn't have the force that her more recent books have, and while I was reading, I realized I was missing that. Its a good story, but just okay. I would recommend her newer books long before I would this one.

Title: What a book.
Review: I didn't know how Sandra Brown would be able to follow-up Sunset Embrace, but she sure did. I really enjoyed the continued story of Lydia and Ross. At the beginning I found myself wanting more of them in the story, but I ended up so immersed in Banner and Jake's relationship that I didn't mind them not being it as much. Then when the story incorporated them all I was completely satisfied. As always, Sandra takes her readers on a journey where you come to feel close the characters and I always have difficulty putting the books down. This one was no different. This book included cowboys and whores and family and foes... it was certainly a page turner with a twist at the end. I'll warn you, I was left feeling empty and awful at the end of this book. Be prepared for a major twist that will break your heart. Even with the ending, the Coleman Saga books rank near the top of my all time favorites by Sandra Brown.

Title: intense feelings of love, hate
Review: ANOTHER DAWN by Sandra Brown is the second in the Coleman saga series. The prime characters in Sunset Embrace, Lydia, Ross and Ma Langston, are relegated to secondary status in this novel. Their offspring, Banner Coleman and Jake Langston, are primary in Another Dawn. The novel is one of Brown’s period pieces that takes place in the rough and rugged Territory of Texas in the 1890’s. The story begins with 18-year-old Banner’s wedding ceremony to a local entrepreneur. The wedding is interrupted by gunfire. Much older, Jake, makes an attempt to console innocent and gorgeous young Banner. Here the plan goes awry but the plot and story are established. Brown has a knack of lulling the reader with a smooth flowing narrative, then suddenly jerking his socks off with a burst of energy, abruptly changing speed and direction and going from the disconsolate to the riotous. It has been a long time since I read a novel with so many emotionally charged ups and downs, intense feelings of love, hate, jealousy and sorrow but with spurts of happiness seemly all strung together with razor-wire. An exaggerated amount of sexual interplay is displayed on almost every page at times so monotonous and repetitious that it becomes boring. I have to say that Sandra Brown is one heck of a writer. Her dialogue can instantly stir intense feelings of emotion in a reader’s mind. I give Another Dawn a 4-star rating.
