A kitchen witch with a penchant for baking and a (literally) cursed love life meets someone who’s worth breaking a hex for in this enchanting romance debut written with a heap of spice and an equal measure of heart.
“A spicy, spellbinding debut that is as swoony as it is sweet, this book is a cottagecore rom-com of magical proportions.”—Lana Ferguson, author of The Nanny
“Pure magic.”—Jenna Levine, author of My Roommate Is a Vampire
“A cozy delight!”—Lyla Sage, author of Done and Dusted
As a skilled kitchen witch, Dina Whitlock knows her way around a pastry recipe. In fact, she runs her very own London café, serving magic-infused treats to her loyal customers. She is not as much of an expert on romance, thanks to the hex hanging over her head. It’s hard to fall in love when your partner is cursed with a string of bad luck. But who needs love when your best friend is getting married, right?
Scott Mason has returned from global travels thrilled to embark on his new role as a curator at the British Museum. Having left London two years ago to recover from a devastating breakup, Scott has missed out on a lot. With his best friend’s wedding approaching, and Scott as best man, this is his chance to make up for lost time. Little does he expect to be enchanted by the magical maid of honor.
During a romantic weekend filled with a peculiar hedge maze, palm readings by candlelight, and a midnight Halloween ritual, there’s no denying the chemistry between them. But the hex still holds, and Dina knows that Scott is in danger of more than just bad luck—because she’s falling, hard. Will Dina be able to undo the hex before it’s too late?

Title: sweet and spicy witchy romance
Review: This was so good! Dina is a Moroccan-British witch with two best friends, one of whom is getting married, a familiar cat and a hex problem. She runs a coffee shop and bakery as she's a kitchen witch. On her way home, she meets Scott three times and finally they are forced together on Immy's wedding weekend. Scott and Eric (Immy's fiance/husband) are best friends who work in a museum together so that explains why Dina and Scott find themselves at the same place and forced to share a cabin for this wedding weekend. Scott is still recovering from a brutal breakup and spent time abroad for work rather than facing his problems. Dina fears that she hexed an old love and then they turned it on her, putting anyone she loves at risk of danger and harm. The thing is, Dina and Scott have an instant attraction to each other. They decide to just pursue it at the wedding weekend but they can't help it and everyone around them sees what a good match they are. The intimate scenes are hot in this one and there's real intimacy shared between Scott and Dina before they even get naked together. This has the perfect combination (for me) of witchy vibes, romance, discovering yourself/your purpose and just casual depictions of diversity. Scott has two mums, Dina is bi, and while these things are important to the story, they also are not if that makes sense. Just effortless depictions of how varied the human experience is!Can't wait to read Rosemary's story (Dina's bestie who can see ghosts) as she is an author who is having her novel adapted into a film.Thank you to the publisher Dell and NetGalley for an ARC of this title.

Title: Cute spooky season read!
Review: I wanna give a massive thank you to author Lana Harper for putting this book on my radar. Lana Harper is one of my favorite authors and when I saw her recommending this book on Instagram I knew I had to add it to my TBR.Now back to our regularly scheduled review portion! Like I mentioned as soon as I heard about Best Hex Ever I was ecstatic. Iâm always down to read a witchy romcom. Best Hex Ever is a cozy fall fantasy romance thatâs easy and charming to read. Now even though I loved certain aspects of this book I still had some minor issues throughout. My first minor qualm I had was with our main character Diana. I had a really hard time relating to her or feeling any sympathy for her situation. Wonât get to into details because I donât want to spoil anything. But I fully believe Diana needed to learn actions have consequences. My other gripe with not just Diana but romcoms in general the miscommunication trope was used quite heavily in this book and Iâm not particularly a fan when that trope comes into play. Especially when itâs the cause of 90% of the main characters suffering. I just wanted to scream at Diana multiple times âjust say something woman!! You have an amazing support group of family and friends. TALK TO THEM!!!âOk I promise Iâm done with my rage outbursts. Letâs talk about my favorite moments of the book. I absolutely loved Dina and Scott. I know at times their relationship felt insta-lovey. But Nadia did a great job of fleshing out both characters. Diana & Scottâs relationship was one to root for. They are both kind, hard working characters that have both struggled and deserve to have a happily ever after.Another part that I thoroughly loved was our side characters Immy & Rosemary. They were both super relatable and I couldnât see two of my best girlfriends in them. Their friendship with Diana added a great heart warming presence to the story.Last but not least the Magic! I loved the Magic system in this cozy romcom. It was easy to follow and made you wish we had more Magic in our own world.Overall this is a fun cute witchy romcom that I think anyone could enjoy.

Title: What a perfect way to kick off spooky season!
Review: This book was the perfect way to kick off spooky season! It was super cozy, sweet, and delightfully spicier than I was expecting!Right off the bat, I knew I was going to love Dina. Any witch who can make a magic butter mixture to temper the temperamentalness of croissants is a winner in my book. I loved her spirit and the way she interacted with her world. I loved her strength and confidence, but also that she still had things to learn and overcome. It made her feel so real in a world full of magic!Scott was a lot of fun. His complexities ran deep, and made me want to know more! Also, I loved his passion for his job and what he was trying to do. I would absolutely go to that museum exhibition. How can we make this happen? The magic in the world was easy to grasp as it was tied with things that were familiar. I also absolutely loved all the side characters! From Heebie the cat, to the best friend groups, to the parents and beyond. Every character was one I wanted to get to know better.A big scoop of Practical Magic, a pinch of Encanto (iykyk), and healthy dose of cozy, this is a book had just the right amount or magic and ambiance to put me in that spooky season mood! And I cannot wait for the next one! Also donât be surprised if you see me cooking up so delicious Moroccan treats. Just call me a Kitchen Witch from now on.This is an ARC review.
