Cookies are the treat that never disappoint, whether you’re baking for a party or a picnic, a formal dinner or a family supper, or if you simply want something on hand for snacking. Martha Stewart's Cookies feature recipes for perennial pleasers like traditional chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin, as well as other sweet surprises, including Rum Raisin Shortbread, Peppermint Meringue Sandwiches with Chocolate Filling, and Lime Meltaways.
Cleverly organized by texture, the recipes in Martha Stewart’s Cookies inspire you to think of a classic, nostalgic treat with more nuance. Chapters include all types of treasures: Light and Delicate (Cherry Tuiles, Hazelnut Cookies, Chocolate Meringues); Rich and Dense (Key Lime Bars, Chocolate Mint Sandwiches, Peanut Butter Swirl Brownies); Chunky and Nutty (Magic Blondies, Turtle Brownies, White Chocolate-Chunk Cookies); Soft and Chewy (Snickerdoodles, Fig Bars, Chewy Chocolate Gingerbread Cookies); Crisp and Crunchy (ANZAC Biscuits, Chocolate Pistachio Biscotti, Almond Spice Wafers); Crumbly and Sandy (Cappuccino-Chocolate Bites, Maple-Pecan Shortbread, Lemon-Apricot Sandwiches); and Cakey and Tender (Lemon Madeleines, Carrot Cake Cookies, Pumpkin Cookies with Brown-Butter Icing).
Each tantalizing recipe is accompanied by a lush, full-color photograph, so you never have to wonder how the cookie will look. Beautifully designed and a joy to read, Martha Stewart’s Cookies is rich with helpful tips and techniques for baking, decorating, and storing, as well as lovely gift-packaging ideas in standout Martha Stewart style.

Title: Love the book .. my present go to for cookie recipes!
Review: I am not a huge fan of Martha Stewart but when I wanted a cookbook on cookies, I purchased this based on the many positive recipes. I was prepared to just like the book but I love it. I love how the recipes are organized as light and delicate, soft and chewy, crispy and crunchy etc. The list of recipes in the first few pages is really neat, including not just the name of the cookie and page number but also a small photograph of the cookie. There are enough recipes, about 175 of them, to suit every taste with beautiful photographs that entice you to try them. This book was put to good use over the holidays when I purchased it. I have tried well over 25 recipes since I purchased the book last month even modifying some of them. Turned out great each time.Nice tips at the end with a very typical Martha type write up on how to package cookie as gifts. Very neat!

Title: Best cookie book
Review: This is my favorite cookie recipe book of all time. I LOVE the index separating the cookies into texture. Knowing what texture youâre going to get from a cookie is exactly the kind of detail Iâm looking for when Iâm baking. Itâs fun and very pretty. Great gift

Title: Well organized, delicious, beaufiful pictures
Review: I checked this book out at my local library and made a few cookies before ordering it. (I have too many cookbooks as it is). The recipes and photos are divine! The only complaint I have about this book is that I wish the publisher had included measurements by weight. Most home cooks use volume to measure out ingredients, but those of us who use weight have a hard and tedious time going back to volume. That being said, I want to tell you that the most delicious Palmiers and Chocolate Crackle cookies I have ever eaten, came out of this book. During Christmas I bake LOTS of cookies to give away, and this year I received many compliments on the cookies from this book. So next year I will use some of the same recipes plus a few new ones. Besides the great photos and recipes, the Table of Contents is a pictorial of the 175 cookie recipes. All the cookies are right there, in front of you to choose from without having to peruse the entire book to choose what you are going to bake. This to me is a great time saver. The cookies are divided into the following sections:Light and DelicateSoft and ChewyCrumbly and SandyChunky and NuttyCakey and TenderCrisp and CrunchyRich and DenseTools and TechniquesPackaging and GivingSourcesThis is a great book to own, but be careful.....those cookies have a way of jumping out of the page, make you bake them, and then insist on following you everywhere by sitting on your hips, thighs, belly, etc. If you are not a cookie monster now, you will be one if you have this book.

Title: Love Martha
Review: Martha is always on point when it comes to baking. This isnât just a recipe book, it actually teaches you technique and how to make good cookies. This book includes the classics (as Martha always includes unlike some other books). Iâve looked at other books and the organization is too confusing and it assumes that I already know everything about cookies. Thereâs also ideas on how to gift wrap cookies in the back of this book too.I got this cookie book because I have Marthaâs pie book and it makes wonderful pies. Up next on my radar is her cake book. One thing at a time thoughEdit: so I made the chocolate chip cookies first. Theyâre AMAZING! They are soft the next day. Iâve always wanted to make good chocolate chip cookies and online recipes have always been a disaster. This recipe rocks!

Title: Canât go wrong with Martha Stewart
Review: Recipes range from easy to more challenging and there is a good variety. Cookies are mainly grouped by texture (chewy, crispy etc.). The instructions are easy to follow. If you like to bake cookies this is a good book to add to your collection.

Review: I have tried one recipe of this book, but I have others of this series and are real good too. Not disappointed at all. The only thing it's that almost all the ingredients are in cups and spoons, great for beginners, but I prefer to weight the ingredients to get better results. It has a variety of recipes too.
