Title: Not hard to find after all!
Review: The CD is a substitute for my 'Alice's Restaurant' LP and cassette. It will probably get played only once a year, (Guess when?) but it is worth it to keep up with the technology. (Obvious answer: Thanksgiving,).It had become a family tradition since the kids were small and repeated every year until our son married and then, we would play the cassette on the way to their house for dinner. That is until the cassette player threw a hissy fit and spit it out. So I had to find a CD copy. Hard to find, or so I thought. WRONG!Th apple does not fall far from the tree here. Arlo is a more than adequate replacement for his Dad, Woody Guthrie, one of the best in the Folk/True American genre. Arlo just has a slightly twisted sense of humor. Like the rest of us growing up in the late 50s, 60s & 70s.FYI: Listen to the 'pickle' song. It's a hoot!

Title: Good Version of Alice's Restaurant
Review: Bought this for Alice's Restaurant and City of New Orleans which are favorites. Hadn't heard a couple of the other songs and was surprised they were considered "best of's." The sound was clear and crisp, however, and we took off on our last trip singing along with Arlo.

Review: Purchased this for my sister for her birthday and she absolutely loves it. He is local to us here in the Berkshires and only lives about 10 minutes from our house. So Arlo is special to us. 🙂

Title: The best of Arlo Gthriie
Review: I adore The City of new Orleans, it's just as charming and magical as years ago, although it's the only song I really like. That's sort of like The 3 Dog Night Retrospective , and on that CD I only like Joy to the World , which is adorable.It's totally worth getting this CD just for City of New Orleans, Alice's Restaurant gets a bit annoying at 18 minutes, dealing with Alice's trash, I'd forgotton that part through the years, maybe 3- 4 minutes of Alice's Restaurant, good editing, but the CD is still great fun.

Review: Raccolta uscita nel 1977, anche se contiene nove pezzi riesce a rappresentare bene il suo modo di impostare le canzoni. Si inizia con quella che viene considerata il suo capolavoro "Alice's Restaurant" è un talking blues di 18 minuti dove racconta le disavventure di un ventenne americano, certo che per apprezzare il brano occorre un'ottima conoscenza dell'inglese cosa che purtroppo io non ho. Non mancano pezzi degli di nota, come "Gabriel's Mother's Hiway Ballad" una deliziosa ballata, oppure "Coming Into Los Angeles" ben ritmato e con un ottimo accompagnamento musicale, forse il brano migliore del disco, e per finire "City Of New Orleans" canzone che da un tocco di bellezza in più al disco. Complessivamente è come se il disco è una lunga chiacchierata sui problemi e sulla vita dei ventenni americani negli anni '60 e '70. Consigliato per sentire uno dei tanti aspetti musicali di quel periodo. Amazon e consegna perfetti.
