Title: Precise and pleasureable!
Review: Good recipe instructions here - what I liked is that the author is VERY precise, and if you follow the directions you can actually make these sweets come out looking like the illustrations. And be melt-in-your-mouth terrific.

Title: Nice recipes, could stand better writing
Review: The recipes are all very nice, some simple, some not so much, but in general they give me the desire to go to the kitchen and bake. HOWEVER, particularly for recipes that are more involved, instructions are not as clear as they could be. I sometimes was left with the feeling that the recipes were written in another language and then a very sloppy translation took place. To give one example Chocolate Mazarines - they look amazing, I want to make them, but the instructions call for "greased cups" - now, excuse me, but what exactly should I use? No mention of shape, size, it seems like they would be dome-shaped - then the shortcrust pastry is rolled and placed inside the greased cups - how thin should you roll it???? So basically, instead of getting super excited to make these cookies, I get this feeling that I need more info to really go for it. Overall, I like the book, but feel that with a better editor behind it, it could really shine.

Title: Dessert Pastry Chefs Delight
Review: Not what I expected. This cookbook is best suited for a pastry chef in a four star restaurant, not for the average homemaker/family cook making desserts for family and friends. However, it is a nice coffee table book since anything chocolate causes a chocoholic to salivate.

Title: Fantastic chocolate cookbook!!
Review: What a gorgeous cookbook! The hardcover matches the glossy dust jacket with beautifully photographed chocolate dishes. The cook itself is full of more gorgeous photos showing not only the finished dish, but many have step-by-step photos as well. Now, the important part--the recipes!! It's hard to miss with chocolate! These are fantastic recipes from a master pastry chef. So many recipes, so little time! I made the brownies tonight. That sounds so much plainer than it is. The BEST brownies I've ever had, bar none. So incredibly rich and moist, they are magic in your mouth! My husband is trying to eat healthy and only has a small portion (if he has any at all) if we have a dessert, but these sent him back for more! The chocolate spritz cookies are next on my list to cook with my daughters and the spicy chocolate coated hazelnuts. After that...wow! So many great recipes to choose from!I only have two caveats with this book. Some ingredients may be harder to find, especially for a home cook like me (Bergamot orange oil, pickled red cherries, etc). Also, on a few recipes the pan size is not specified. On the brownies I made tonight it said you could use 20 muffin cups or "one baking pan" with no mention of what size. I eyeballed it and used a 9 x 13 which worked fine, but these issues did drop my review down one star.I received a copy of this book from Skyhorse Publishing for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Review: Great book. The only reason I give it only four stars is because on the mistakes in the translation. There are so many that some of the recipes are not understandable. Otherwise it has wonderful information.
