Title: Classic Live Album
Review: This is an excellent live album, with some studio tracks added at the end.It is a good representation of the bands strong live performances of the early and mid seventies. Most of the songs are extended, with jazzy improvisations that make you feel like you are there or at a festival beneath the open sun; and oh man... the bass. Verdine White plays the bass like no other, focused, syncopated, and solid with Sunny Emory on drums. The music is uplifting, and happy. The standout tracks for me are Devotion, Sun Goddess, and Reasons, a classic album. The mix is sweet, not messed with and compressed, as it remains warm, present, the tones perfect and the blue vinyl, weighty and nice to look at. The foldout is great and it is nice to see all the retro photos of the band in a large format. Just holding it makes me recall my younger days of loving this band immensely as my parents blasted the stereo on Sunday afternoons.I would recommend this to anyone collecting vinyl.

Title: Classic EWF 'Gratitude' is timeless but deserved a BETTER reissue!
Review: An iconic EWF album like 'Gratitude' deserves the best packaging, and Friday Music simply dropped the ball. The gatefold double album set was shipped in extremely loose plastic. The paper inner sleeves had side splits from the vinyl's movement during shipping.I cleaned the 180 gram blue vinyl LPs to get rid of the surface noise, added proper inner sleeves and things improved. Soundstage was very good. Loved the bass & mids. Highs were ok.A MAJOR problem is the abrupt ending of the 'Africano/Power' Medley, which is SUPPOSED to include a 15 second transition to the 'Yearnin Learnin' song. NOPE, the reissue company failed to replicate what is on the original pressing & CD releases.4 Stars!

Title: E,W&F in "THE REAL" Sound
Review: The vinyl LP sent to me is "a limited addition" of fire colored vinyl with an added poster folded inside. The record played with out one scratch (only the very hard to hear sound that vinyl makes, which I love--because it gives you the memory and feeling of the times past; the way life USE TO be when there was NO SUCH THING AS CD's, DVD's, Cell Phone Chips, "Downloaded GB's," and much more.(Read the book: "Digital Legacy")You'll love and truly feel the REAL existence of Earth, Wind & Fire ...spiritually and naturally. The sale of turntables and vinyl recorders are back!

Review: Great analogue to digital transfer, detailed, not too bright and sounds close to the orig all analogue release. However, CBS reissues tend to be quite good and this one is no exception. Orig tapes are used basically to the point of sending music to the cutting lathe. IN some cases a conversiion to 24K res digital before the cutting lathe. Im not sure here but given the improvement in sound range like lower detailed lows, smooth's highs. This is one of my fav live albums and deff EWTF at their finest.
