Bridesmaids meets Big Little Lies in a novel told from the alternating perspectives of two women who define the term frenemies - from New York Times best-selling author Jen Lancaster.
Jacqueline Jordan knows conflict. A fearless journalist, she’s spent the past decade embedded in the world’s hot spots, writing about the fall of nations and the rise of despots. But if you were to inquire about who topped Jack’s enemy list, she’d not hesitate to answer: Kitty Carricoe.
Kitty reigns supreme over the world of carpools and minivans. A SAHM, she spends her days caring for her dentist husband and three towheaded children, running the PTA, and hiding vegetables in deceptively delicious packed lunches.
Kitty and Jack haven’t a single thing in common - except for Sarabeth Chandler, their mutual bestie. Sarabeth and Jack can be tomboys with the best of them, while Sarabeth can get her girly-girl on with Kitty. In fact, the three of them were college friends until the notorious incident when Jack accidentally hooked up with Kitty’s boyfriend...
Yet both women drop everything and rush to Sarabeth’s side when they get the call that her fabulously wealthy husband has perished in a suspicious plane crash. To solve the mystery surrounding his death, Jack and Kitty must bury the hatchet and hit the road for a trip that just may bring them together - if it doesn’t kill them first.

Title: Newest groupie
Review: I met Jen Lancaster at a book signing in RI and found her delightful. She was funny and self deprecating someone I could definitely hang out with! There I purchased her newest book "By The Numbers" and LOVED it! Once I finished that one I decided to read ALL the others. This book had lots of plot twists and and ending I did not see coming! She leads the reader down a not too obvious path and then pulled the rug out! Full disclosure, when she autographed my book she said she loved my pants....essentially "She had me at hello"! I would recommend both of these books.

Title: Snarky goodness
Review: I adore Jen Lancaster and her sassy, snarky humor. "The Best of Enemies" is such a fun book. Kitty and Jack(ie) were BFFs in college, until they weren't, and now they are MORTAL ENEMIES!!! Problem is, they have another mutual BFF, Sarabeth/Betsy/Sars, and so they can't avoid each other and often come to blows (and cause expensive food fights) when forced to spend time in each other's company. Flash-forward 20 years after college, when the suspicious death of their mutual bestie's husband brings Kitty and Jack together again to solve the mystery.I loved this book. It's total fluff, but it's HILARIOUS, and it made me LOL so many times. The ending is super ridiculous and rushed, but still a lot of fun. I predict this will be the first of Lancaster's books to finally make it to the big screen, and I will be one of the first in line to buy a ticket.

Title: Enjoyed from start to finish
Review: Don't get the 'hard to follow' comments - read a few in the other reviews - just baffled by them...this was a fun, enjoyable read. The characters were flawed- funny or dislike-dastardly and I kept caring about what happened to them. And, not for nothing, Jen has some stuff to say about well 'stuff' and she gets it in there from time to time.

Title: Ok but not fantastic
Review: Light summer read. However I found it difficult to keep track of whose story was being shared as the chapters move around from character to character. Good twist at the end which I didn't expect.

Title: Sorry... 4 okay? (Pls not in fight now)
Review: I have and will always hold a special place in my heart for Jen. But I just could not get into this one. She is the queen of memoirs(!!!). And while it's awesome that she examines other types of literature... With all due respect Jen, (and really, who am I? NOT WORTHEEE Amazon lazy barely ever reviewer!), you were/are and will continue to already always be soaring, a bird only has two wings, right? Keep the spreading for the peanut butter on toast, maybe? I didn't even feel the description on Amazon here at all depicted what this book was about-then again-I couldn't grasp it either :/ so Maybe it did... Still, well written. Just not my style or read in one sitting love of living life via Jens!

Title: Jen Lancaster Hits Another Home Run!
Review: SNARKY FLUFF!!!! This is when your two best friends absolutely hate each other â havenât we all gone through something like this? Itâs funny that the two characters could be so different, yet so complimentary. What I wouldnât have given to have Kittyâs poise and confidence just out of high school and for the beginning of college. I welcomed Jack and Sarsâ awkwardness during their freshman year in college â itâs kind of reminiscent of my own life. What I loved: The prologue of invitations and letters â there is so much untold backstory hidden in just those few pages that could have made a whole other book (or at least added 50 pages to this one!). Iâve followed Jen Lancaster for many years through her blog, books, and in-person meet & greets so I feel like Kitty is all of the best qualities of Jen Lancaster while Jack is all Fletch, her husband, in female form which makes for some hysterical scenes. What I didnât love: Nothing! Iâve said before that Jen Lancasterâs Thundercats could all walk across her keyboard for 350 pages and, not only would I understand their gobbily-gook, but that I would love it. Iâve always loved her non-fiction novels and this is one of her best fiction tales yet. What I learned: I learned a ton of new things to call people who annoy me. Iâm predicting âcum-muppetâ will soon be taking over my vocab if not the world.www.fsam15.wix.com/fluffsmutandmurderOverall Grade: A+

Title: Lighten up with this one.
Review: I usually don't read "womens" literature, but this sounded funny and it is. I don't know how Lancaster manages to keep the humor coming, page after page, but I can't imagine any woman reading this without laughing a lot. The plot has enough going for it to keep you interested, even if it is fairly transparent, and the characters are full of life. There are female loyalties, disloyalties over boyfriends, envy, annoying character traits, long-held grudges, amusing side characters, useless men, and an evil bitch. Not great literature, but a lot of fun.
