For as long as I can remember, I’ve been the dark to my sister’s light—the awkward loner to her social butterfly. Growing up, she had it all: our parent’s unyielding approval, perfect grades, a permanent spot at the popular table, and the attention of the hottest guy ever—Duke Kincaid.

After eighteen years of living in her shadow, I couldn’t wait to escape—to finally be my own person. Yet here I am, I’m back in my hometown, once again in Valorie’s shadow. Only now, it’s eternal.

I had life all planned out: join the force, marry Valorie Parsons, and start a family of our own. I have the job, but the girl and all my dreams died before my very eyes.

At the urging of my friends, I agree to a blind date. Imagine my shock when I arrive and find, Valorie’s twin sister, waiting across the table from me. Mallory should be a reminder of all that I’ve lost, but instead she feels like my redemption . . . like maybe life’s giving me a second chance.

But, how can I be enough for her when I’ve already given her sister the best of me?

Title: Enemies to Lovers-Second Chance Romance PERFECTION!!
Review: Oh This Book, Y’all! My Poor heart.Broken only to be put back together in one perfectly sweet and gooey piece. Duke and Mallory were inevitable. That is all there is to it. Now, we met Duke in Best of Intentions. He is Nate’s partner on the Police Force. His and Mallory’s story really begins, a couple of years after a horrible tragedy claimed the life of his childhood sweetheart Valorie, on the day was going to ask her to marry him. This left him an annihilated, heartbroken mess. He is not your typical devastated man-ho from some of the romance novels you are used to. He hasn’t been able to move on from his ONE. He’s not running from bed to bed, and mean to the whole world. He just can’t seem to let himself be with anyone else, and he had tried. He really is a great guy, an awesome friend, super HAWT Cop. He’s okay with not being with anyone. THEN! Nate and his fiancee’, Jenny decided to orchestrate a blind date of sorts with Jenny’s new tenant. The world STOPS.When Mallory, the twin sister of the dead love of his life shows up, it really knocks him for a loop.“She’s pretty much the physical embodiment of the life lost, of the love I lost, which makes her the last person on earth I want to see, much less welcome into our friend group.”Duke finds himself in a whirlwind of emotions. He harbors some deep feelings towards Mallory for leaving home years ago, which in turn hurt her sister. He was left to pick up the pieces of not only his own heart, but Valorie’s devastated parents as well. Duke is torn between his loyalty to his dead girl and they girl who looks like a carbon copy. Will he be able to let go of his guilt enough to grab onto this second chance at love?I was so instantly in love with Mallory’s character. Her whole backstory. GAH! I’ve never wanted justice and a picture perfect outcome. She just deserved a REDO!! She was smart and sassy and beautiful. So much more that she knew. She needed someone to see her, HER! Her movement back too close to her hometown was not an easy one, but she quickly made a great group of friends. I loved them all and she fit right in. Of course Duke is a huge part of that group. Instantly she was a bundle of jumbled up feelings around Duke.. She herself was not only dealing with hurt and guilt from the loss of her sister, but the feelings that she was beginning to feel for Duke. There was definitely some leftover stuff from her childhood that left her feeling less than. Would Duke ever look at her and see her or only see a replacement of what he could have had?“The way he looked at me afterward, his face full of some unidentifiable emotion—I can’t help but wonder, was he seeing me, or a memory of my sister? The thought is paralyzing.”This book is deliciously gut wrenching, yet will perfectly put you back together. LK Farlow was brilliant in her ability to weave in the perfect amount of humor, sass and feisty females. The witty banter and oh so sweet heat make this your next, MUST read five star- forall the feels romance!*I voluntarily reviewed an advanced complimentary copy of this book.My cr8zysockbookblock overall ratings for this book!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️- SO IN LOVE!! Devoured, Could not put it down. I LOL’d, Cried, I rooted for this couple. I wanted to throw my kindle and my panties. So that tells you it was a well rounded, awesome read for me!! I read this book in just over a day. Fast paced, funny, witty banter, great characters.🔥🔥🔥🔥- This book was hot, when you get there. There is lots of push and pull, due to the subject of the book.I found the build up to be great.🌪Cliffhanger Warning- No cliffy, but I want more from this great small town of characters!!

Title: A bit of a bumpy start
Review: So I've read a few of this authors books and even the ones that are in this series. While I enjoyed the story over all the choppiness I the beginning almost stopped reading. From how Duke described his relationship with Valerie, it was like he loved he because he had been with her so long he didn't know any different. Did they really bring out the best in each other. I think had she not died they may have been divorced after discovering they grew apart. And poor Mallory always living in the shadow of your sister. Being treated like you were never wanted. It's indescribable how this made me feel. I love my children more than I could never say. But Mallory turned into the truest version of herself when she moved away.Talking about a rumbling explosion. Both Mallory and Duke were on those Cray collision course that lead to the path they were meant to find. While some find it so wrong, Jenny's story about the olden days says it all lol But the little differences in how they embraced each others quirks or opened up with pure honesty. I think she was the one meant for him to truly see in that cafeteria, but Mally's mother out too many obstacles in the way. Great end to the story!!!!

Title: 5 Forbidden Stars
Review: LK delivers a touching, slow burn romance that will melt your heart. This book has a touch of enemies to lovers, a touch of the forbidden and all the delicious angst. I loved everything about this story from start to finish LK kept me utterly enraptured with Duke and Mally."When she died, she took the best of me right along with her, leaving a shell of the man I was before."Duke is one hundred percent book boyfriend material. He is brooding and angry but deep down he will melt your soul with his sweetness not to mention all the tattoo’s (Insert immediate swooning). He goes through something incredibly tragic that wrecks him in a way that many don’t recover from. He closes himself off from love and finding someone, ultimately, he’s just going through the motions of living, without living. It’s heartbreaking to see this beautifully strong man so closed to possibilities. I loved his character so much; his pain was so real and tangible you can feel it pour from the pages. You want to coddle him a little but at the same time when he’s a complete douche to Mallory you want to whack him upside the head."Mallory’s my own personal brand of torture, and yet, she sparks something to life in me that I thought died with her sister-hope-and that just pisses me off all the more."I felt so much for Mallory she lived through some epically tragic things that would destroy even the strongest of people. But she persevered, she made it out and made something out of herself. Her strength and compassion even given her childhood are awe inspiring. She has a lot of residual insecurities that she must deal with, but she doesn’t let them stand in her way.I loved her banter with Duke, their chemistry was instantaneous and can be felt burning through your Kindle. They try to fight their undeniable attraction to each other, but some things cannot be stopped. And their connection is one of them. I simply adored watching them together even in the beginning when Duke was being a jerk, I loved it because you knew that it wasn’t coming from a bad place. Watching what they have mature and grow into something that heals their souls was beautiful to see."Mallory kisses just like she lives, with all of her heart and soul, and here in this moment, I know she’s claiming a piece of both of mine."This story will break you heart but in the same moment start putting it back together. Duke and Mally will steal your heart and leave you breathless. You will love this story from beginning to end as LK has woven a perfectly balanced tale full of love, loss, forgiveness, and humor. Go out and grab your copy of this story today, you will not be disappointed, fall in love with Duke and Mally as I have and let their journey be a part of your life.

I really don’t know how I feel about this one. The story has really nice elements but there were things that fell off for me, like Duke’s feelings. We never got them. Suddenly they were super big and it was just very out of nowhere. The parents are huge in the character’s life but we never understood them or their way of thinking. It felt incomplete somehow and the strangest thing, the name of the baby. I mean, seriously? That’s way morbid.Mally and Duke’s friends are amazing. Tatum is the best and the epilogue was cool.

Review: I read the previous 2 books but This story deserve 10 stars not only 5. I reread it 3 consecutive times that's how much I loved it . It's the story of Duke and Mallory. Duke I gotta say came out as douche at the start of the book but as the book progressed I loved him as much as I loved Mallory except when he hurt her feelings I was in tears as much as she was I felt her hurt deep. I get why he had the conflicting issues he had and I'm glad he fought over them. At the beginning i thought i wouldn't like the whole story plot cause of the whole twin sister and sister's boyfriend thing but as the book progressed I wanted him to love her i wanted her to have a happily ever after cause Mally is so sweet and deserved his love and he deserved to find a person to love and be loved by and be happy with.
