Review: Well, this is the second one that came with the broken case, but I decided that I'll change the case myself. There is a nice pamphlet in the case about Judy Collins. As for the CD, I'm not able to hear it now, because my stereo equipment is being repaired. I'm looking forward to it though.

Review: I first heard Judy Collins sing "Amazing Grace" when I was studying at Sydney University in the early 70's. I was struck by the purity of her voice. I bought the single[as you did back then] and played it for years until I accidentally left it in the sun for a few hours one day and it was ruined.So,I was delighted to find this CD offering that song and many others. Some I realised as being in the background of those student years in the 70.s. A house mate/friend had one or two of her LPs which she would play from time to time and I recognised them on this CD. Judy Collins lends such a dreamy,faraway atmosphere to these songs,in a voice that always moves and delights the listener. The beauty of this collection of "hits" is that you never seem to get tired of them. In every respect,this is a first-class purchase.

Review: 在庫が「残り〇点」という表示があったように思ったので注文したところ、手元に届くのに約一か月も掛かりました。待ちました～。そして届いてすぐに聴きました。さてこれは輸入盤の、ジュディ・コリンズさんのベストもの。甲高い声ではなく穏やかな中高音の声。カントリー、フォーク．．．．．、アメリカ合衆国に残る棚引く草原、田畑、牧場などから吹く爽やかな風を受けているような音楽。これが日本語の歌唱だったら・・・。誰かこのアルバムのほとんどを日本語でカヴァーする日本人歌手は現れないものか・・・。どれもこれも美しいメロディ・ラインです。現代ではＲ＆Ｂ、ヒップホップ、ラップ、ユーロビート、etc、どれもこれもせっかちで慌ただしくなったような音楽が氾濫していて、聴いていて時に逆に疲れます。こういう穏やかな音楽を聴くと一服のお抹茶のようにも感じます。そうそう、日本の歌曲で言うと「赤とんぼ」、「春」、「琵琶湖周航の歌」、「ふるさと」、「七里ヶ浜の哀歌」などが思い浮かんで来ます。おやおや、これじゃ童謡、文部省唱歌みたいで少々極端な比喩かもしれませんが、彼女の英語の歌唱がそれほどに穏やかな印象を受けるのです。
