George Jones was awarded the coveted Kennedy Center Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008 at age 77. It was a crowning touch to the career of the man who had 168 chart hits, more than any other recording artist in history. George Jones began his incredible run of hit recordings in 1955 when "Why Baby Why" landed at #5 on the record charts. It was one of five hits Jones recorded on the Starday Records label. From 1965 thru 1971 Jones recorded 270 songs with Musicor Records, 29 of which were hits. Starday and Musicor are now owned by Gusto Records founder, Moe Lytle. Review: The first song gets stuck. He is great. Iâve had spine surgery and am unable to return it. Ordered two and both get stuck on first song. Just want you to know in case you hear from other people. Enjoy your day.

Review: Not every-bodies C&W music , but to me fab! I found many years ago in a junk-shop an old 10" LP "STARDAY" Label of early George that LP has had the best of plays over the years, so it been nice to get most of these songs again .If you want vintage country and a couple or three rockabilly track into the bargin ,you may enjoy this one .So "rosen up the bow" and here we go !
