Gordon's received some recognition early in his career with for Lovin' Me; Early Morning Rain, and Ribbon of Darkness (which was a #1 hit for Marty Robbins in 1965). Those three tunes join I'm Not Sayin'; Bitter Green; the Way I Feel; Go-Go Round; the Last Time I Saw Her, and more.

Title: A classic Lightfoot collection
Review: When i saw this online, i also saw another review posted by a david, he was dissapointed that sundown and if you could read my mind where not on here. I should point out that this is a best of his original work from his first 5 records, songs that clearly established him in the industry, and songs which i have never grown tired of listening too.

Title: What a deal!
Review: This is the finest collection of early Gordon Lightfoot music. Anyone who has ever lost love, or found love, or hit the road can relate to the feelings expressed in these songs. His voice is young and strong. The lyrics lacks the poetic beauty of much of his later work. This is more than made up for as he sings straight from the heart. I listen to this CD over and over. You sure can't beat the price.

Title: Less Than Best
Review: This CD contains 10 of Lightfoot's earliest songs from the first four albums which he recorded for United Artists between 1966 and 1968, and they are all fine songs. However, for a couple of dollars LESS you can buy "The United Artists Collection" which contains ALL of Lightfoot's songs from those first four albums. That would be 49 songs on two CDs -- 39 songs more than on this one, short CD -- and HOURS of great entertainment. Check out "The United Artists Collection." You won't be disappointed!

Review: All songs on the 'Best of Gordon Lightfoot' are great, but his song 'The Last Time I Saw Her' is the greatest song in lyrics and music, I believe, produced by this iconic legend.
