Title: but I love it too
Review: Purchased as a gift, but I love it too! I know it's not the end-all jazz story of American music, but it's a really good way to enjoy the journey of some of our jazz greats. It's impossible to capture a movement in one work, but Ken Burns sure tried!

Title: Fabulous Compilation
Review: This a great CD to own if one hasn't listen to jazz before. I do not own many jazz CDs, but I greatly enjoy listening to this one. I would recommend this CD to anyone that wants to listen to something upbeat. The CD is great to listen to during a bbq, dinner, other family events, etc. Ken Burns provides the best jazz music in this compilation.

Title: Buy this one!
Review: Seems typical for a Ken Burns presentation: Outstanding variety representative of the genre from older to more modern, wonderful quality that is true to the artist and era. Well worth the money; if you like jazz variety, you'll appreciate this. I'm glad I bought it.

Title: Love this cd
Review: Love this cd. I listen to it everyday. I am a new jazz music listener and I love jazz from jazz greats like Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong, Count Basie and many others. I would recommend it to everyone.

Title: The music is fine, but the case is cracked
Review: The music is fine, but the case is cracked. This is the 2nd CD I have ordered that the case is cracked. Disappointing.

Title: Great Introduction
Review: This is the second copy I have owned (which must be a recommendation of itself). The first copy was purchased at a yard sale, more as a gimmick than any thing else, but has since bitten the dust. However, on playing it for the first time, I absolutely love how each track is so different from the last. If you're not looking for a wide offering from a particular (jazz) artist, this would be a fine introduction to the jazz genre.

Title: sit back and be grateful.
Review: Initially I did not want to like compositions selected what I assumed would obvious or arbritary seections. Happily what I have found with this and later all Ken Burns selections is a respectful and gifted approach to the genre collected,

Title: Ken Burns never disappoints
Review: We are using this cd set as a supplement to the ken burns jazz documentary series. My middle school student is listening to the CDs to fulfill her music history component. Great sound, interesting selection of artists .

Review: Nothing wrong with the music here but, be warned, it does contain a lot of 1930s/40s stuff.....If you're more into the mid 50s/60s (something a bit more contemporary), go elsewhere.
