"The most popular standup comic in the U.S." --Time
Whether he's breathing life into Walter, an old curmudgeon; Peanut, an over-caffeinated purple maniac; or Achmed, a screaming, skeletal, dead terrorist, comedian and ventriloquist Jeff Dunham is the straight man to some of the wildest, funniest partners in show business.
All By My Selves is the story of one pretty ordinary guy, one interesting hobby, one very understanding set of parents, and a long and winding road to becoming America's favorite comedian. With wit, honesty, and lots of great show business detail, Dunham shares all the major moments in his journey to worldwide fame and success.

Title: A light-hearted book with a great voice (or voices)!
Review: I've seen Jeff Dunham in person several times & he puts on a great show. Not only is he talented, but he really cares about his audience getting the most out of his show for their money; he's really worth seeing in person - I highly recommend it! Now that I've said that, I am a fan. I bought this book and thought, it might be a fun read - and I was curious to how Walter, Peanut, and Achmed would be worked into it. What I found was a light-hearted book that provided a lot of information about how Jeff's family, how he got started in his career, and who he met along the way (many of it will surprise you). From the fact that he met Bob Hope at such a young age, auditioned for Johnny Carson countless times, to the fact that he was going to ask Ellen Degeneres out (does she know this yet?) and how he met his wife (now ex-wife)- I was really impressed by his career, his enthusiasm to do what he loved, and his family's support. It's a great read that is funny and cute!

Title: A delightful read!
Review: This is just a delightful read. I think I noticed only one grammatical error. Excellent writing, excellent organization, a laugh a minute. I would look forward to another book by Jeff Dunham to bring us up-to-date. Actually, I would like just a little more of his personal life. But it's fascinating how he got interested in ventriloquism as a child, and never let go of it. It's a lesson is parenthood - give your children opportunities and let them run wild.

Title: Insight from inside a comic genius
Review: An avid fan of Dunham and his merry puppet pals, my daughter was delighted to get his biography for Christmas. Dunham injects his same unbridled humor to the accounting of his childhood, fledgling career and the pitfalls of fame as in his routine. My teenager was glued to the book and only under threat of bodily harm did she put it down to visit with her family for the holidays. An entertaining alternative to many of today's self-serving bios, Dunham has no trouble poking fun at himself for our pleasure. Fun, festive and fabulous, it's an enjoyable accompaniment to his numerous videos.

Title: Couldn't agree more - Great Book
Review: I just wanted to state my agreement with the other reviewers. This is a good book about (and by) a great comedian. I got the Kindle version, and the little graphics of the various characters as they spout off throughout the book is a nice touch, something I've not seen in Kindle books before.I always thought that Jeff seemed like a nice, "stand-up" kind of guy (pun intended), and this book just helped to reinforce that. He's very thoughtful about whether his routines go over the line or not, but he's also got that thing that I think all great comedians have, and that's the thing deep down inside that makes you just have to try something, even if it might be a disaster, because it's just too good to let go by. I've always had that inside of me (although obviously I'm not a professional comedian), so it was fun to live vicariously through him as he recounts some of those times. I could almost hear the little voice inside my head, which in my case doesn't take bodily form like his does, saying "go for it!"Anyway, if you're a Jeff Dunham fan, this is a MUST read, and if you're not, well, what's wrong with you?? :)Dan

Title: Absolutely amazing
Review: I love reading about Jeff's ventriloquist journey. Although I'm not sure how others thought it was a dvd as there was no way to think it was a dvd. There were a few stains on some pages but I don't really mind about that as they aren't huge stains; plus I think it makes it more unique and whacky like PeanutBeen a fan since I was 13/14 and my parents called me into the living room to watch one of his shows that was playing on I assume was Comedy Central and I was hooked since that night. My mom even got us tickets to go see him on New Year's Eve a few years back. Hope to meet him one day

Title: Funny Dummies
Review: Very appropriate book title. Very engaging text. Very interesting person.I discovered Jeff, by accident , just a few years ago on TV. In my opinion, he is the funniest and most talented American living today! So, I did some research to see if a book existed about his life. To my delight, I found his autobiography. It is wonderful. I highly recommend this book.If you also love his humor and ventriloquism, you must read this book. Jeff has natural talent. Combined with his hard work and dedication, Jeff is a prototypical "American" success story. This is the rare book which makes you laugh -out-loud while reading!I hope to have the opportunity to see Jeff perform some day. Until then, my wish for Jeff and his "buddies" is that they; " Live long and prosper." Except Achmed, of course, for which the statement is seemingly an oxymoron!Dr. Stanley E. Review: The second I heard about Jeff Dunham having written a book, I just had to get it and I am not disappointment that I did. This book was incredible to read. Seeing how this incredible artist made it through the years, how he went from taking on his first dummie at 8 in a toy store to how he now performs in full arena's today is incredible. I also love it when the dummies would interact into the story. It always put a smile on my face. I also love the references that Jeff put's into his book, so if you are interested in getting to know more about this form of art, these references will help you out big time.
