Getting your sea legs under you sometimes takes more than a few tacks across the harbor. It takes a shoe like the Captain. Made with breathable mesh inserts for water drainage and a roll bar for stability, the Captain boat shoes are the slip-ons you'll want to wear on the water and off. High-quality materials and Dunham's years of design and engineering come together to offer you a shoe that looks as good as it feels.

Title: Perfect Fit; Amazing Quality and Comfort
Review: What an awesome, high-quality, comfortable shoe. I can't say I've been able to say that for the past decade or so -- it seems most shoes are only built to last about three months before they fall apart.I have enormous feet and - as I'm sure anyone reading this for that very reason understands - it is difficult to find stylish, comfortable shoes for everyday wear.If you have a large, wide food -- look no further. This shoe not only fit me perfectly out of the box, it was nearly 100% perfectly comfortable with minimal break-in (just under a week with minimal wear), and looks great to boot. The soles are thick enough to offer great support, but not thick and awkward enough that they look like clunky orthopedic clown shoes. This shoe looks great with slacks and would fit in a dressy or casual environment. I'll be picking up a spare set out of fear that they stop making them.PROS:â¢Great Fit for Wide Feet (4E)â¢Quality Constructionâ¢Comfortable for All-Day Wear / Walkingâ¢Doesn't Look Like a Boat on Your Foot (round-toe shoes in large sizes tend to look comical)CONS:â¢Stiff Heel for the First Week (I taped my heels under my socks to minimize blisters; heel seems to have broken in within 4 days)â¢Toe is Rounded (I prefer squared toes for style reasons, but this still looks nice)

Title: The only boat shoes I wear
Review: Fits well, comes in wide to xxwide.Plus, top of back of shoe is not a stiff roller over leather, but a soft, and, comfortable seemingly cushioned collar.

Title: Wonderful shoes
Review: My hubby has a very wide foot and getting shoes is always a challenge. He needs a size 12 XX wide shoe and these are not easy to find. He didnât want me to order these on line as he didnât trust they would be any better than all the shoes he tried on recently. I went ahead and ordered them anyway (what can I say) and didnât tell him. They arrived promptly and he wasnât sure to be happy or not. He unboxed them and tried them on and walked around and turned to me with a big smile, they fit him perfectly. I was so relieved. He wore them immediately â no breaking them in â routine. He says they are the most comfortable shoes he was ever worn and he loves them. They are a very attractive shoe and the two tone colour makes them very versatile. A great purchase. Thank you.

Title: Wonderful, but larger than advertised
Review: I'm editing this from an earlier review in which I warned about the sizing running larger than labeled. After purchasing three different pairs of Dunham Captain boat shoes, I'm happy to say that I finally landed on the right size. Sort of...They are still wider than necessary. But after several weeks of wear, I can say that they're. well, read below...COMFORT = 4 out of 5 * * * *The soles themselves have a relatively modest amount of cushioning. Not as soft as a running shoe, but not stiff and rigid like a hard rubber or thin leather. The insoles that come with these have little in the way of cushioning. I swapped mine out immediately in favor of a spare pair of thick, cushiony running shoe insoles. This made all the difference in the world. They're fantastic now and can be worn for hours at a time. The thicker insoles do obstruct the vents on the sides of the shoes somewhat, but there's still plenty of airflow to keep my feet cool-ish. (I could trim the insoles to avert this, but haven't yet.) They're also thicker and help fill some of that unnecessary [for me] width of the shoe.* * * * * Your go-to when you have to stand for long periods or walk great distances.* * * * Comfortable. Can be worn everyday with minimal aches and pains afterwards.* * * Not exactly comfortable, and certainly not your first choice in footwear, but they're passable.* * Wearable, but only for short periods. Like those dress shoes you drag out when you no other choice.* Unwearable

Title: If a deck shoe and a walking shoe got married . . .
Review: Okay, I might as well say it up front. I just turned seventy-four and I'm going through the sort of changes that go with it (increased body aches and pains, injuries from the littlest things, lifestyle changes that go along with the freedom and flexibility of retirement, etc.), and naturally, my wardrobe purchases have been changing along the way. I no longer buy a whole lot of "dress clothes". I now only own one suit. And I have steadily reduced my collection of expensive dress shoes and replaced most of them with comfortable casual wear, mostly walking shoes and sneakers. By the way, one age-related thing that developed and impacted upon this particular segment of my wardrobe was my developing a need for prescription orthotics to alleviate foot-pain that has been exacerbated by my increased exercise and walking activities. Forgive my bragging, but I start practically every day with a four-mile walk! And so I own high-end walking shoes with removable insoles that readily accommodate my orthotics. But I can't wear "work-out" shoes everywhere! So I decided to buy some casual shoes that also have this feature but can be comfortably worn without socks and let me avoid looking quite so much like Charlie Brown from Peanuts when I'm wearing shorts! I tried several camp-shoes, deck-shoes, and mocs, but none provided the support and comfort I was looking for. And then I found these! Perfect mix of slip-on (or tighten up with the laces) comfort and style. Great materials, details, and workmanship, regularly eliciting compliments. And the support they provide is the best I've ever seen in shoes of this style. They're like a deck shoe got married to a walking shoe. I wear them some of almost every day! I just hope they prove to be as indestructible as they look!

Title: My absolute favorite
Review: This is probably my third or fourth pair. They look good (I get many compliments), they fit well and are very durable. The last pair lasted about five years of daily use. The only minor point of dissatisfaction is that I have found it impossible to replace the laces. They are somehow caught or bound in the lace track that encircles the shoe and can't be removed. My old pair is still serviceable as a second pair to wear at home, but I can't remove the broken lace.

Review: First the likes; Excellent quality for the price, appears very well made, lovely nubuck finish in navy colour, dispatched and arrived from USA relatively quickly. Not so good; they sent me a UK size 10.5 when I ordered a 10 and as I am off on holiday in two days (and the reason I bought them) don't have time to return them, not the end of the world as I can put up with the slightly bigger size but annoying none the less.
